Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of game-based physical education learning on the mastery of basic movements of grade III elementary school students. The research method used is an experimental method with a one group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of the study were 30 elementary school grade students. The research instrument is in the form of a test of basic movement skills which includes locomotor movement, non-locomotor and manipulative movement. The data analysis technique used the t-test. The results of the study showed that there was a significant improvement in students' basic movement mastery after the implementation of game-based physical education learning. Thus, game-based learning has a positive effect on the mastery of basic movements of grade III elementary school students

Abstract

Confidence is one of the psychological aspects that plays an important role in supporting the performance of pencak silat athletes when competing. This study aims to analyze the level of confidence when competing in pencak silat athletes of the University of Muhammadiyah Sorong. The research uses a quantitative descriptive approach with a survey method. The subjects of the study were 30 pencak silat athletes who were determined by total sampling technique. The instrument used was in the form of a confidence questionnaire which included indicators of confidence in one's abilities, emotional control during competitions, optimism in facing opponents, and courage to make decisions. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics in the form of averages, percentages, and categorization. The results showed that 46.7% of athletes were in the high confidence category, 40% in the medium category, and 13.3% in the low category. Indicators of confidence in one's abilities have the highest average scores, while emotional control during competitions has the lowest average scores. The conclusion of the study shows that the level of confidence of pencak silat athletes at the University of Muhammadiyah Sorong is generally in the medium to high category, but the aspect of emotional control still needs special attention through a structured mental training program.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between leg muscle strength and the results of the precept in the game of sepak takraw. Football is one of the dominant basic techniques used in receiving, controlling, and passing the ball, so its success is greatly influenced by the components of physical condition, especially the strength of the leg muscles. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design to test the relationship between the variable of leg muscle strength as an independent variable and the result of the discipline as a bound variable. The research sample amounted to 30 high school sepak takraw athletes who were selected through purposive sampling techniques with the criteria of actively participating in training and not injured. The measurement of leg muscle strength was carried out using a leg dynamometer to obtain maximum strength data, while the ability of the precepts was measured through a 1-minute skill test by counting the number of legitimate ball touches. The data obtained was analyzed using the Product Moment (Pearson) correlation test at a significance level of 0.05 after meeting the assumptions of normality and linearity. The results of the analysis showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between leg muscle strength and the result of syllabus (r = 0.62; p < 0.05), which was in the category of strong relationship. These findings indicate that increasing leg muscle strength contributes to improving the ability of sepak sila techniques, so leg muscle strength development exercises need to be an important part of sepak takraw athlete coaching programs.v

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between flexibility and swimming speed in Physical Education students of the University of Muhammadiyah Sorong. Flexibility is one of the components of physical condition that plays an important role in supporting movement efficiency and sports performance, including swimming. The research method used is quantitative research with a correlational design. The population in this study is Physical Education students of the University of Muhammadiyah Sorong, with a sample determined using purposive sampling techniques of 30 students. The instrument used to measure flexibility was the sit and reach test, while swimming speed was measured using a 50-meter freestyle swim test. Data analysis used the Pearson Product Moment correlation test at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between flexibility and swimming speed (r = 0.62; p < 0.05), which suggests that the better the student's level of flexibility, the better their swimming speed. Based on these results, it can be concluded that flexibility has a strong contribution to swimming speed in Physical Education students of the University of Muhammadiyah Sorong

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between leg length and the results of running 100 meters in athletic athletes of the University of Muhammadiyah Sorong. The study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design to determine the level of relationship between anthropometric variables and sprint performance. The research sample amounted to 30 student athletes who were selected through purposive sampling techniques with the criteria of active students, registered as members of the Athletic UKM, and in good physical condition at the time of data collection. Leg length was measured using an anthropometer from the superior anterior iliac spina to the sole of the foot, while 100-metre running performance was measured using a digital stopwatch on a standard track, with two trials and best times taken. Data analysis was carried out through descriptive statistics, normality tests, and Pearson Product Moment correlation tests at a significance level of 0.05. The results showed a significant negative relationship between leg length and 100-meter running time (r = -0.62; p < 0.05). The determination coefficient of 0.38 showed that leg length contributed 38% to the variation in the results of the 100-meter run. These findings indicate that the longer the athlete's legs, the greater the potential to produce longer steps that support the achievement of maximum speed. Thus, leg length is one of the factors that contribute to sprint performance, although it is still influenced by other factors such as muscle strength, power, and running technique.
