Abstract

This study aims to examine the optimization of digital media utilization in improving students’ literacy and numeracy skills at SMP Negeri 2 Ibun. The background of this research is based on the rapid development of digital technology and the increasing demand for quality learning in the digital era. This study employed a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The research subjects consisted of teachers and students, while data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the use of digital media such as instructional videos, educational applications, and online learning platforms can enhance students’ learning interest, understanding of learning materials, as well as their literacy and numeracy skills. However, the optimization of digital media utilization still faces several challenges, including limited facilities and infrastructure, as well as teachers’ competencies in managing digital-based learning. Therefore, school support in the form of teacher training and adequate facility provision is necessary to ensure the optimal implementation of digital media in improving students’ literacy and numeracy skills.

Abstract

This study explores the implementation of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in reducing teachers' administrative burden at SD Islam Hasyim Asy'ari Cisarua through a qualitative case study. High administrative burden often hinders teachers' focus on learning activities. The method involves in-depth interviews with four key informants: Vice Principal for Curriculum, Treasurer, and two Program Coordinators. Data were analyzed using thematic-descriptive analysis to identify time efficiency, output quality, and challenges. Results show that AI tools such as ChatGPT and Google Gemini reduced lesson plan preparation time by 40-50% (from 2-3 hours to 45-60 minutes), evaluation questions, and report narratives. Output quality improved in structure, consistency, and formal language, but requires teacher curation for Islamic context. Challenges include digital literacy gaps, limited infrastructure, and technology dependency. Research novelty lies in AI integration with Islamic values, impacting teacher productivity and digital transformation. Recommendations: Strengthen TAM-based training, Kemdikbud infrastructure policies, and further mixed methods research for scalability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of child protection policies in student discipline at SMA Mathla'ul Anwar Margahayu. Violence in schools remains a critical issue, as indicated by KPAI data showing 226 cases in 2023. This qualitative descriptive study involved interviews with seven informants including school principals, teachers, students, and parents. The findings reveal that the school successfully integrated child protection policies into Student Discipline Standard Operating Procedures through a participatory process adopting positive discipline principles by eliminating physical and psychological violence. The novelty of this research lies in documenting how schools translate macro child protection policies into operational micro practices through three main pillars: structured tiered guidance systems, active roles of the Violence Prevention and Handling Team (TPPK) in prevention, early detection, and case handling, and proactive communication strategies with parents through parenting education and home visits. The study contributes empirical evidence on effective child protection policy implementation in educational settings through appropriate management systems and collective stakeholder commitment.

Abstract

Low student learning motivation in remote elementary schools is often caused by geographical barriers and sociocultural conflicts, as seen in the enrollment decline at SD YPPK Kambrau, Kambrau District, West Papua, from 73 students (2024) to 65 (2025). This study analyzes the role of the school principal as educational administrator in enhancing learning motivation through integration of Papuan local wisdom. Employing a qualitative phenomenological approach and intrinsic case study, data were collected via in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving the principal, two teachers, and parents. Findings reveal four key administrative functions: (1) participatory planning based on motivation analysis, (2) adaptive instruction aligning academic schedules with customary seasons, (3) development-oriented evaluation, and (4) transforming environmental obstacles into contextual learning opportunities. The novelty lies in a contextual transformational leadership model integrating Papuan customs, fulfilling students’ psychological needs according to Self-Determination Theory (autonomy, competence, relatedness). Implications emphasize that educational administration effectiveness in 3T regions depends on managerial flexibility and respect for local wisdom, supporting SDGs Goal 4 and the context-based Merdeka Curriculum.
