Abstract

A study has been conducted on community participation in mangrove management on Sabangko Island. The aim was to determine the forms of community participation related to mangrove management on Sabangko Island. In addition, this study sought to determine the ecological value of mangrove forests on Sabangko Island. This study used a descriptive qualitative research type. Data collection used direct observation and questionnaires. Then, the data was combined with the results of interviews. This study used 68 families as samples in the data collection process. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the community is very aware of the ecological benefits of the mangrove ecosystem. The form of local community participation is mostly abstract participation. The ecological value of mangroves most perceived by the local community is maintaining the availability of fresh water on the island

Abstract

This experimental study investigates the impact of a digital diagnostic evaluation, grounded in Florence Littauer's personality theory, on enhancing learning outcomes within the Teaching at the Right Level (TaRL) framework. TaRL differentiates students' personality types sanguine, choleric, melancholy, and phlegmatic from their learning levels and seeks to address both aspects. This research aims to align instruction with both learning traits and academic preparedness. The research employs the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, paired-sample t-test, and N-gain analysis to evaluate outcomes. The study was conducted at MAN 1 Kolaka with Class X1 Al-Bukhori Muslim, employing diagnostic evaluations featuring narrative sentences for each personality type, in addition to pre- and post-tests. The Shapiro-Wilk test produced a significance of 0.06 for the pre-test and 0.09 for the post-test, indicating a normal data distribution. The paired-samples t-test (sig=0.001 0.05) indicated significant alterations in learning outcomes, while the N-Gain score (0.75 0.70) demonstrated substantial effectiveness. The results indicate that this diagnostic method can assist TaRL; however, additional validation is required.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Masalah utama yang dihadapi guru di sekolah adalah kurangnya kecakapan dalam menggunakan alat-alat praktikum pada mata pelajaran Geografi. Salah satu penyebabnya adalah karena tidak tersedianya alat di laboratorium saat menjadi mahasiswa, sehingga kurang memiliki pengalaman dan pengetahuan tentang penggunaan alat-alat praktikum Geografi. Tujuan:  Meningkatkan pengetahuan mahasiswa jurusan pendidkan Geografi Universitas Halu Oleo sebagai calon guru profesional tentang penggunaan alat-alat praktikum Geografi. Metode: Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini menggunakan pendekatan partisipatif dan edukatif melalui sosialisasi. Hasil: Melalui kegiatan pengabdian ini, pengetahuan mahasiswa terkait penggunaan alat-alat praktikum dapat ditingkatkan. Hal ini diketahui melalui perbandingan hasil pretest dan posttest. Mahasiswa juga merasakan pengalaman belajar yang menyenangkan dan dapat mempelajarinya kembali dimana saja karena video pelatihan mudah diakses melalui Instagram. Kesimpulan: Sosialisasi penggunaan alat praktikum yang  dilakukan melalui digital learning guide dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan mahasiswa terkait penggunaan alat-alat praktikum Grografi.
