Abstract

Abstract

The business complexity requires business actors to have special skills in managing and analyzing data in Big Data. This community service aims to provide in-depth training on the use of Microsoft Excel as a platform for managing and analyzing data. The ability to manage and analyze data will greatly affect business productivity in facing the challenges and opportunities that exist in the Big Data era. Participants will be equipped with knowledge and practical skills in utilizing various relevant Excel features, including pivot tables, vlookup, if, and sophisticated data analysis techniques. This training uses a mentoring approach through several processes: preparation, implementation, mentoring and evaluation, and post training mentoring. The results reveal significant effects: awareness of technology to increase SMEs productivity is built; the competence of SMEs actors in using Microsoft Excel increases; and SMEs actors are able to increase efficiency and effectiveness in managing, processing, and analyzing data so that they can optimize the decision-making process more effectively and accurately. However, in-depth material is still needed, so further training is needed to deepen the knowledge and skills of SMEs actors. This is important for SMEs to respond to the challenges in the increasingly complex global market.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to strengthen the asset management system at YP Unila High School through the implementation of a simple yet effective digital-based database. Initial observations identified key issues such as scattered asset records, data inconsistencies, and minimal handover documentation, which could potentially reduce the accountability and efficiency of school governance. Interventions included designing a Microsoft Excel-based database template, providing technical training, and assisting with implementation through the initial data entry stage. Pre-post test results for 15 participants (staff) showed an average score increase of 17 points, indicating the training's effectiveness in enhancing human resource capacity. The evaluation also revealed a reduction in asset naming variations, increased inventory code consistency, and the emergence of a data-driven work culture. Further discussion, referring to academic literature, confirmed that asset digitization not only simplifies administrative processes but also strengthens the principles of good governance through transparency and accountability. This program can be replicated in other schools using a phased approach and developed into a web-based system for more comprehensive and sustainable data integration.

Abstract

This research analyzes the implementation of the “BE STRONG” strategy in strengthening organizational culture at the University of Lampung. Using a mixed-methods approach with descriptive analysis, this study combines quantitative and qualitative techniques to obtain a comprehensive understanding of organizational culture dynamics within the university environment. The research applies the Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI) and Management Skills Assessment Instrument (MSAI) to identify organizational culture preferences and managerial competencies. Data were collected through purposive sampling involving 23 respondents representing lecturers, staff, and leaders at the Rectorate, Faculty, Bureau, Institution, and Technical Implementation Unit levels, selected based on their roles, involvement, and understanding of organizational processes and culture. The results reveal the dominance of Hierarchy and Adhocracy cultures, reflecting the need for stability through structured control alongside flexibility and adaptive innovation. The findings indicate that the implementation of the “BE STRONG” strategy has succeeded in strengthening risk-based governance and structured information systems (Hierarchy), although innovation in learning and research (Adhocracy) still requires improvement. This research recommends strengthening governance systems alongside developing competencies such as Managing Risk and Managing Innovation. These findings contribute to the development of a stable, adaptive, and innovative organizational culture, supporting the University of Lampung in achieving its vision as a World Class University (WCU).
