Abstract

Abstract

This study is urgently needed to determine how digital shadowing and organizational culture influence the adaptation speed of new employees, enabling the Soppeng Regent's Office to enhance onboarding effectiveness, accelerate workforce integration, and improve organizational performance. The rapid advancement of digital transformation has significantly reshaped organizational practices, particularly in employee onboarding and adaptation processes within public sector institutions. This study aims to examine the influence of digital shadowing and organizational culture on the speed of adaptation among new employees at the Soppeng Regent’s Office, Indonesia. A quantitative approach with a cross-sectional survey design was employed, involving 52 respondents selected through stratified random sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with SPSS. The findings reveal that both digital shadowing and organizational culture have a positive and significant effect on employee adaptation speed, both partially and simultaneously. Digital shadowing enhances learning efficiency by enabling new employees to observe workflows and access real-time information, thereby accelerating task understanding and reducing uncertainty. Meanwhile, ohrganizational culture demonstrates a more dominant influence, indicating that a supportive and adaptive work environment plays a critical role in facilitating employee adjustment. The coefficient of determination (R²) shows that 46% of the variation in adaptation speed is explained by the two variables, while the remaining is influenced by other factors. These results highlight the importance of integrating technological onboarding strategies with a conducive organizational culture to optimize employee adaptation. This study contributes to the literature on digital transformation and human resource management in public sector organizations, particularly in developing countries, by emphasizing the synergy between technological and socio-cultural factors in accelerating employee integration.

Abstract

Employees of the Balai Harta Peninggalan (BHP) Makassar face significant challenges in carrying out legal administrative duties, particularly due to the vast scope of the work area, which covers 13 regions in Eastern Indonesia, and the limited number of human resources. High workloads, time pressure in task completion, and the dynamics of interpersonal relationships have the potential to affect overall employee performance. In light of this urgency, this study aims to analyze the influence of workload, time pressure, and interpersonal relationships on employee performance at BHP Makassar. This research employed a descriptive quantitative approach using a survey method. Data were collected through observation, literature review, and the distribution of closed-ended questionnaires to the entire population of 34 employees, thus eliminating the need for sampling techniques. The research instruments were validated and tested for reliability before analysis. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with the aid of SPSS version 27. The findings indicate that both partially and simultaneously, workload, time pressure, and interpersonal relationships have a positive and significant influence on employee performance. A proportionally distributed workload, effectively managed time pressure, and conducive interpersonal relationships significantly contribute to improving employee productivity and work quality. These findings provide important implications for institutional management in designing work policies that support employee performance improvement and offer a basis for further research exploring additional variables in the context of public sector organizations.

Abstract

This study is urgent because rapid digital transformation requires students to adapt to evolving workplace demands. Understanding how digital environmental change and dynamics influence work readiness supports more effective higher education policies and graduate preparedness. This study aims to analyze the effect of digital environmental change and digital environment dynamics on the work readiness of Management students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar in the era of digital transformation. Previous studies have mainly focused on individual digital competencies, such as digital literacy, soft skills, and self-efficacy, while limited attention has been given to how broader changes and dynamics in the digital environment shape students’ work readiness, particularly in higher education institutions in eastern Indonesia. This study employed a quantitative explanatory survey design. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 80 Management students from the 2022 cohort and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics 27. Digital environmental change refers to shifts in technology-based learning, communication patterns, and access to digital resources, whereas digital environment dynamics refers to the rapid, continuous, and complex development of digital systems that requires students to adapt to changing educational and workplace demands. The findings indicate that both digital environmental change and digital environment dynamics have a positive and significant effect on students’ work readiness, with digital environment dynamics showing a relatively stronger contribution. The two variables explain 41.3% of the variation in work readiness. Academically, this study contributes to the work readiness literature by positioning the digital environment as a multidimensional external factor, not merely as individual digital competence. Practically, the findings suggest that universities need to strengthen digital-based learning environments, improve digital literacy programs, and develop students’ adaptability skills to better prepare graduates for the evolving labor market.
