Abstract

This study aimed to analyze teachers’ classroom management strategies in creating inclusive learning environments at SDN 60 Salubattang. The study focused on the implementation of inclusive education, classroom management strategies, and the supporting and inhibiting factors influencing inclusive learning practices. This research employed a qualitative case study design. Data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation involving the principal, classroom teachers, subject teachers, students, and parents who were directly involved in inclusive learning activities. Data validity was ensured through triangulation, prolonged engagement, and member checking, while the data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles and Huberman. The findings revealed that inclusive learning environments were created through integrated classroom management strategies, including differentiated instruction, adaptive classroom management, positive reinforcement, collaborative learning, and flexible assessment practices. These strategies worked together to accommodate students’ diverse academic abilities and learning needs, encourage active participation, and provide equal learning opportunities. Collaboration among teachers, parents, and school leaders also supported the implementation of inclusive learning, while positive peer interaction contributed to students’ social acceptance, cooperation, and classroom participation. However, the implementation of inclusive learning still faced several challenges, including limited educational facilities, insufficient instructional media, and limited teacher training related to inclusive education practices. This study concludes that teachers’ classroom management strategies are essential in strengthening inclusive learning environments in primary education and offers contextual insight into how inclusive classroom management is practiced in a suburban Indonesian primary school.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology has transformed Generation Z’s interpersonal communication patterns, particularly through the intensive consumption of short-form digital content. This condition has contributed to the emergence of the brain rot phenomenon, referring to cognitive decline caused by excessive exposure to repetitive and superficial digital content. This study aims to analyze the phenomenon of brain rot among Generation Z and its implications for da’wah communication practices in the digital era, focusing on interpersonal communication dynamics in the Luwu Raya region. This study employed a qualitative method using a descriptive phenomenological approach to explore the experiences, meanings, and communication behaviors of Generation Z. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observations involving Generation Z individuals aged 17–28 years who actively use social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Data analysis was conducted using thematic analysis. The findings reveal three major dimensions affected by the brain rot phenomenon: focal power dynamics, empathy level analysis, and response analysis. The study indicates that brain rot contributes to declining communication focus, reduced empathy, superficial interactions, and instant communication patterns, posing challenges to interpersonal da’wah communication, which requires reflective, empathetic, and meaningful dialogue. Therefore, adaptive and contextual da’wah communication strategies are needed to maintain the effectiveness of religious messages among Generation Z in the digital era.

Abstract

This study investigates teacher role modeling as an educational approach for strengthening character and discipline among students in an Islamic boarding school. It addresses the research question of how teacher role modeling is implemented and contributes to addressing students’ behavioral and academic problems in Islamic religious education at Muhammadiyah Boarding School (MBS) Palopo, Indonesia. A qualitative descriptive design was employed involving seven informants, with data collected through observation, open-ended interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teacher role modeling functions as a core method in student development, with teachers and boarding-school supervisors serving as role models through direct daily practices and indirect examples drawn from exemplary Islamic figures. The approach addresses discipline-related and academic problems, including delayed prayer, late Qur’anic study, difficulties in memorization, lack of learning focus, and failure to complete assignments. However, more serious violations, such as smoking and bringing mobile phones, require supporting strategies involving advice, institutional procedures, sanctions, and parental involvement. The findings suggest that teacher role modeling should be positioned as the foundation of character and discipline formation, while complementary interventions provide an integrated framework for addressing diverse student problems in Islamic boarding-school education.
