Abstract

Nanga village is a village located in East Wawonii District which is still said lagging city. There has no effective waste disposal site, and several communities choose to throw garbage into the ocean directly and the river. So that, it can be collected and managed properly and efficiently garbage by using the planning design of an integrated waste processing site (TPST) location to handle and reduce the negative impacts of garbage. The research variable refers to regional, allowance, and placement eligibilities (SNI 03-3241-1994). Based on this research, we discover the Nanga village stated in the medium classification to develop an integrated waste processing site in East Wawonii District.

Abstract

Indonesia is a developing country that actively leads development in all areas of life, one of which is the economic sector. Economic development in Indonesia is growing rapidly along with the advancement of information systems that are rapidly changing with the times. With the increasing pace of development. Therefore, this study was conducted aiming to determine the quality of sea water at Batu Gong beach, Lalonggasumeeto District, Konawe Regency in terms of physical, chemical parameters and analyze the suitability of marine tourism on Batu Gong beach, Lalonggasumeeto District, Konawe Regency in terms of water quality. The results of this study are the Batu Gong beach area on three water quality parameters that exceed the sea water quality standard for marine tourism quality standards in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of the Environment number 51 of 2004, namely the brightness at 15.00 which 2nd exceed quality standards. the temperature at 10.00 is 24°C, at 12.00 it is 26°C, at 15.00 it is 27°C exceeding the quality standard. TSS at 10.00 is 2486.66 TSS at 12.00 is 2506.66 TSS at 15.00 is 3093.33 exceeds the quality standard and in the coastal waters of Batu Gong does not exceed the sea water quality standard for marine tourism in accordance with the Decree of the Minister of the Environment number 51 of 2004.

Abstract

Along with the times, the industry in Indonesia is getting higher, especially the industry in the mining sector. Exploitation of mineral resources or minerals such as sand mining is one of the supporters of the development sector both physically, economically and socially. This study aims: (1) to find out the sand mining activities in the Lemo river body in Nambo Village, (2) to determine the effect of sand mining activities on the quality of pH, TSS, brightness, and water temperature in the Lemo river. The results of the analysis of the Lemo river water sample at the Environmental Engineering laboratory, Faculty of Engineering, Muhammadiyah Kendari University, showed that the pH value of the sample point 1 was 7.3, sample II was 7.0 and sample III was 6.9. The TSS level in sample I was 393.33 mg/L, sample II was 8750 mg/L, and sample III was 8990 mg/L. The value of the brightness level of sample I is >2 m, sample II is <1 m and the brightness level of sample III is at a depth of <1 m. While for the temperature test for sample I, the water temperature is 23°C and the air temperature is 25°C, sample II is the water temperature is 27°C and the air temperature is 25°C, while for the third sample, the water temperature is 26°C and the air temperature is 24° C with each deviation of ± 3.

Abstract

The quality of clean water is an important factor in all matters, especially for the Regional Drinking Water Company (PDAM) which will distribute clean water to the community. Maintaining the quality of clean water to avoid contaminants is something the needs to be considered. Therefore, it is necessary to periodically test water quality in order to maintain the quality of clean water obtained, such as testing the level of turbidity and Fe (iron). In this study, the result of the analysis of water quality testing parameters of turbidity and Fe (iron) at each point namely point 1, point 2, point 3, and point 4 had different result. The turbidity level obtained at point 1 (reservoir) was 0,8 NTU, increased at point 2 to 0,81 NTU and again increased at point 3 to 0,82 NTU. Then at point 4, the result obtained are back to 0,8 NTU. While the result of the analysis of the content of iron (Fe) obtained at point 1 (reservoir) is 0,006 mg/L, while at point 2 and point 3 the same results are obtained, namely 0,0052 mg/L, then at point 4 it is much increased to 0,02 mg/L. Things that effect the result of the analysis obtained at each point, including the difference in distance and contours of the soil at each point.

Abstract

Limbah kulit durian menjadi salah satu permasalahan yang belum banyak dimanfaatkan oleh masyarakat sebagai bahan bioadsorben ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini menghadirkan pemanfaatan limbah kulit durian sebagai media filtrasi untuk mengurangi kadar logam berat kadmium (Cd) dan timbal (Pb) yang terkandung pada air sumur galian. Penyiapan kulit durian dilakukan dengan mengeringkan kulit durian dan memberikan variasi ukuran media filtrasi yaitu 10 cm, 20 cm, dan 30 cm. Media filtrasi kulit durian dimasukkan dalam alat filtrasi yang telah didesain berbasis aliran gravitasi yang mudah dan murah. Berdasarkan hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan awal kadar Cd dalam air sumur galian sebesar 0,0073 mg/L dan setelah dilakukan perlakuan dapat menurunkan kadar Cd sampai dengan 0,0032 mg/L atau efektifitasnya sampai dengan 55,76% dengan menggunakan media filtrasi 30 cm. Demikian pula kadar Pb sebelum perlakuan memiliki kadar sebesar 0,062 mg/L dan setelah dilakukan perlakuan terjadi penurunan kadar Pb sampai dengan 0,024 mg/L atau efektifitasnya sampai dengan 61,3%. Penurunan kadar logam ini sangat signifikan dan dapat memenuhi standar baku mutu air yang ditetapkan sebesar 0,005 mg/L. Selain itu, faktor penurunan kadar Pb dan Cd dipengaruhi oleh semakin tinggi tumpukan media maka semakin lama waktu kontak air dengan media filter sehingga semakin banyak ikatan kompleks antara selulosa dengan logam berat.

Abstract

The Watubangga Subdistrict is the second most densely populated area in the Baruga District. However, the sanitation and waste management in the subdistrict are still inadequate. Waste management facilities and waste collection points in the area need to be improved. BTN Gemilang 2 Residence, which is part of the subdistrict, was selected as the research and sampling location. It consists of 62 Type 36 buildings occupied by approximately 162 residents, and it is expected to experience an increase of around 148 residents. This research aims to analyze the generation, composition, and recycling potential of waste in the residential area. Data were obtained through sampling in the residential area, which were then measured and analyzed. The analysis involved sorting the waste into eight components and determining the recyclable waste potential. The research results indicate that the daily waste generation in the residential area amounts to 41.85 kg. Food waste is the most dominant component, followed by hazardous waste, plastic, paper, glass, textiles, and metal. The recycling potential of the waste is estimated to be 57.7% of the total waste generated, consisting of PET and PP plastics, bond paper, glass, metal, and food waste. This research is expected to provide valuable information and data for policy-making and stakeholders involved in waste management in the residential area.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the quality of the Lasolo River water, compare it with the quality standard for class I PP Number 22 of 2021, and determine the Status of Water Quality using the Pollution Index (IP) method according to the Minister of Environment Decree Number 115 of 2003. Water quality measurements were carried out at 4 points while the parameters measured were pH, TSS, and Fecal Coliform. Based on the data, it was found that the water pH parameter fluctuated between 7.0 to 7.8 obtained at points ST1 to ST4 under normal conditions, which explained that Lasolo River water met the established quality standards. An increase in the TSS parameter is shown at each point with an average of 70-74 mg/L range, which explains that the TSS value exceeds the maximum water quality standard limit of 40 mg/L. In contrast, the Fecal Coliform parameter at each sampling point has a measurement value of 0 MPN/100 mL, which means it is below the standard quality limit of 100 MPN/100 mL. The water quality status of the Lasolo River was determined using the Pollution Index (IP) method and found that all sampling points were in "lightly polluted" conditions with a range of pollution values between 1.0 < Plj ≤ 5.0 according to Ministerial Decree No. LH. 115 of 2003.

Abstract

This research aims to understand the existing condition of domestic wastewater treatment at Pondok Pesantren Attabiyatussakilah Kendari. It aims to identify the characteristics of wastewater generated at Pondok Pesantren Attabiyatussakilah Kendari. It also aims to design a domestic wastewater treatment installation for Pondok Pesantren Attabiyatussakilah Kendari. The methods used in this research are quantitative, qualitative, and experimental. The research findings indicate that the existing domestic wastewater treatment installation at Pondok Pesantren Attabiyatussakilah Kendari is currently absent. Generally, the wastewater is discharged into the drainage system without undergoing any treatment process. The calculated wastewater flow rate is 19.75 m3/day. The planned dimensions of the wastewater treatment plant (IPAL) consist of a sedimentation tank (settler) with dimensions of 3.35 m × 3.30 m × 3.54 m and an Anaerobic Filter (AF) tank with dimensions of 1 m × 3.32 m × 2.40 m.

Abstract

The case of garbage accumulated during the COVID-19 pandemic in front of the University of Muhammadiyah Kendari (UM Kendari) Campus showed a drastic change in the volume of waste accumulation. The emergence of lockdown regulations and online learning processes show a small amount of garbage collected, but from the other side, there needs to be anticipation when starting normal lectures. Based on these conditions, this study aims to determine the amount of waste generated by the UM Kendari campus during the covid-19 pandemic and to plan a temporary disposal site (TPS) for waste in accordance with technical standards. The method used in this study is a statistical analysis to calculate waste generation, at the TPS location in front of the Kendari UM campus. The data required include volume and weight of waste, the composition of waste, profile data of UM Kendari, buildings, students, lecturers, staff and the surrounding community as well as other supporting data for waste management. The results showed that the waste in the UM Kendari campus environment consisted of several compositions of organic waste 51.60%, inorganic waste 48.36%, B3 waste 0.16%. The planned waste TPS adopts a sorting system method based on source, semi-fixed laying with structural components consisting of; 3 partitions bucket/bin trash can made of fibre/iron plate, 3 compartments for bin holder made of bricks. Effective dimensions of bucket/bin 1.0 m × 0.5 m × 1.0 m; and dimensions of the seat body 2.16 m × 1.38 m × 1.29 m; while the dimensions of the TPS unit area are 3.16 m × 2.88 m. Keywords: Garbage, Kendari University, COVID-19, campus, Waste Collection Point (TPS) ABSTRAK Kasus penumpukan sampah selama pandemi COVID-19 di depan Kampus Universitas Muhammadiyah Kendari (UM Kendari) menunjukkan perubahan drastis dalam volume akumulasi sampah. Munculnya peraturan lockdown dan proses pembelajaran online menyebabkan jumlah sampah yang terkumpul menjadi sedikit, namun di sisi lain, perlu ada antisipasi saat memulai perkuliahan normal kembali. Berdasarkan kondisi tersebut, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan jumlah sampah yang dihasilkan oleh kampus UM Kendari selama pandemi covid-19 dan merencanakan tempat pembuangan sementara (TPS) untuk sampah sesuai dengan standar teknis. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah analisis statistik untuk menghitung generasi sampah, di lokasi TPS di depan kampus UM Kendari. Data yang diperlukan meliputi volume dan berat sampah, komposisi sampah, data profil UM Kendari, bangunan, mahasiswa, dosen, staf, dan masyarakat sekitar serta data pendukung lainnya untuk pengelolaan sampah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sampah di lingkungan kampus UM Kendari terdiri dari beberapa komposisi sampah, yaitu sampah organik 51,60%, sampah anorganik 48,36%, dan sampah B3 0,16%. TPS sampah yang direncanakan mengadopsi metode sistem pemilahan berdasarkan sumber, penempatan semi-fiks dengan komponen struktural yang terdiri dari; 3 ember/tempat sampah berbahan serat/lembaran besi, 3 kompartemen untuk penahan ember yang terbuat dari bata. Dimensi efektif ember/tempat sampah adalah 1,0 m × 0,5 m × 1,0 m; dan dimensi tubuh tempat duduk adalah 2,16 m × 1,38 m × 1,29 m; sementara dimensi area unit TPS adalah 3,16 m × 2,88 m. Kata Kunci: Sampah, UM Kendari, covid-19, kampus, TPS

Abstract

Sungai Wanggu merupakan sungai terbesar di Kota Kendari – Sulawesi Tenggara (Sultra) yang kondisinya sangat memprihatinkan karena menjadi salah satu tempat akhir pembuangan air limbah rumah tangga dan industri. Hal ini berdampak pada penurunan kualitas air dan pendangkalan sedimentasi. Oleh karenanya dalam penelitian ini pentingnya menganalisa kualitas air Sungai Wanggu dengan beberapa parameter fisika dan kimia seperti penentuan total suspended solids (TSS), biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), kandungan unsur fosfat (PO4) dan bahan pencemar detergen yang ditentukan berdasarkan titik lokasi hulu, tengah, dan hilir. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kandungan TSS dan PO4 dari titik hulu, tengah, dan hilir mengalami peningkatan, sedangkan kandungan BOD dan detergen terjadi penurunan konsentrasi di wilayah hilir. Namun kondisi ini memperlihatkan bahwa Sungai Wanggu masih dikategorikan dalam kelas II masuk dalam batas ambang normal. Hasil ini diharapkan menjadi bahan rujukan bagi pemerintah dan masyarakat dalam meningkatkan pengelolaan air limbah dan meningkatkan pengetahuan dalam pengelolaan kualitas air sungai.
