Abstract

This study was made with the aim of describing the use of comic strip media in learning Indonesian for Foreign Speakers (BIPA), especially for foreign students from Thailand. There are many reasons why foreign students who take part in BIPA learning do not really understand the material provided, one of which is the lack of media to convey the material as well as to attract the interest and enthusiasm of students. Therefore, to arouse the enthusiasm and interest of foreign students is to use efficient and entertaining learning media, one of which is comic strip media. This study uses qualitative research methods and analytical techniques using qualitative descriptive. The results of this study found the benefits of using comic strip media for foreign students from Thailand including (1) learning is more active and interesting, (2) strengthening students' memory of Indonesian vocabulary, (3) students being more communicative in speaking, (4) learning materials. teach to innovate to be more creative, (5) a means of delivering Indonesian language and vocabulary, (6) students are entertained so that learning objectives are achieved.  Keywords: comic strips, learning media, BIPA.

Abstract

Tujuan riset ini adalah untuk memaparkan aktivitas serta respons pemelajar BIPA terhadap pembelajaran berbicara menggunakan permainan Truth or Dare berbantuan aplikasi Spin the Wheel. Pembelajaran ini digunakan sebagai salah satu strategi pembelajaran berbicara bahasa Indonesia bagi penutur asing. Riset ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Adapun partisipan di dalam riset ini adalah pemelajar BIPA Korea Selatan yang berkuliah di Global Young Business Manager. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Analisis data menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif dengan mereduksi, menyajikan, dan menyimpulkan data. Berdasarkan hasil riset, ditemukan bahwa aktivitas pembelajaran berbicara dengan permainan Truth or Dare berbantuan aplikasi Spin the Wheel dapat dijadikan salah satu strategi pembelajaran berbicara bagi pemelajar BIPA. Hal ini dilihat dari seluruh aktivitas pembelajaran yang berjalan dengan baik dan efektif.kata kunci: permainan truth or dare, strategi pembelajaran; pembelajaran berbicara BIPA

Abstract

This study discussed the elements of Betawi culture contained in teaching materials of Indonesian language teaching for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) for the public. The paper aimed to describe and understand the representation of Betawi culture as documented in the BIPA textbook published by The Agency for Language Development and Cultivation, Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology. The teaching material entitled My Indonesian Friend (Reading Jakarta: Traditional Culture BIPA 3) is used as a diplomatic tool in a subtle form to introduce Indonesian culture. Apart from that, the book was also used as a reference teaching material that supports BIPA learning by teachers and institutions administering the BIPA program. The method used in this paper was a qualitative descriptive method. The technique used in this study was reading and note-taking technique. The object of this research was the book entitled My Friends of Indonesia (Reading Jakarta: Traditional Culture BIPA 3) which was published in 2019. The cultural elements in this research were elaborated and classified by referring to the universal cultural elements of Koentjaraningrat (1981). In this study, there are six types of Betawi culture found, such as religious systems and ceremonies, social systems and organizations, knowledge systems, arts, livelihood systems, and technology and equipment systems.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the essence of local tourism on Madura Island which can be used as BIPA teaching materials for foreign speakers at the beginner level. The results of this study are BIPA textbooks at the beginner level based on the local tourism potential of Madura, especially local tourism on Mandangin Island. This study uses development research methods with four development phases, such as (1) initial investigation, (2) design, (3) realization and construction, and (4) test, evaluation, and revision. This book is develope to serve as a companion to the main teaching materials that have been provided by BIPA Kemdikbud. Therefore, BIPA teaching materials consist of various aspects of life in Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the implementation of speaking teaching techniques using an interview approach to independent learners. Through interview techniques, this research focuses on developing learners' speaking skills by paying attention to Graduate Competency Standards (SKL). Data was collected through observation, interviews and analysis of audio recordings. The subject in this research is an independent learner where the subject of this research is the main informant. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method by describing the importance of applying speaking teaching techniques using an interview approach. The results show that, although students are able to answer questions with adequate understanding, there is still a tendency to use English vocabulary and a low level of confidence in expressing ideas. Therefore, the implementation of interview techniques needs to be accompanied by additional learning strategies that overcome these shortcomings, such as strengthening vocabulary and developing self-confidence. This research provides important insights for improving the effectiveness of speaking teaching in the BIPA level 1 context.

Abstract

Indonesian Language Learning for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) is an educational process that focuses on teaching Indonesian to individuals who are not native speakers. This research uses a qualitative method in which the presentation and interpretation of data is structured based on descriptive form, which means that the results of this research are in the form of quotations and words. The aim of this writing is to improve your listening, speaking and sentence composing skills in Indonesian. Learning activities are designed to encourage active learners, enrich vocabulary, and understand the cultural context in everyday use of Indonesian. By utilizing technology and online media, it aims to facilitate interactive and interesting learning.

Abstract

This research is aimed at examining the BIPA teaching book "Language Friendly Volume 1" published by Antasari Banjarmasin State Islamic University from several aspects: First, a review of the suitability of the material with the Graduate Competency Standards (SKL) stipulated in the Permendikbub from its accuracy and cultural content. Second, this research is aimed at examining the suitability of material for Arabic speakers, this refers to the fact that Arabs often dominate BIPA participants at UIN Antasari. This study uses a qualitative approach because the data are in the form of narratives or text. The method used by researchers is content analysis. The indicators used in analyzing the book's content were adopted from Muslich, and the rating interval was adopted from the scale developed by Nurgiyantoro. The results of this study revealed that the BIPA textbook "Language Friendly Volume 1" designed for the A1 level of need, was still "not appropriate" with a percentage of 50%. The drawback is that the author is inconsistent in presenting the material, narrative, dialogue, and Indonesian insights. There is also material content that is not yet time to be delivered at the A1 level. This BIPA textbook is considered not suitable for use by Arabic speakers or even other foreign speakers.

Abstract

The teaching of writing in a foreign language requires engaging approaches to foster learners’ motivation and participation. This study explores the integration of the Padlet platform in collaborative writing activities within the Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) classroom context. This study employed a mixed-methods design, collecting data from writing assessments (pre-test and post-test), questionnaires, observations, and field notes. Fifteen learners are involved in an online BIPA 2 course. Quantitative data were analyzed using a Paired T-Test in SPSS, while qualitative data were examined through Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The findings indicate that the application of collaborative writing strategies using Padlet facilitated active learner engagement and produced notable improvements in writing quality. Learners demonstrated increased idea exchange and creativity, as evidenced by a rise in average scores from the pre-test to the post-test. This study provides pedagogical insights for BIPA teachers in enhancing writing instruction through the use of digital collaboration tools.

Abstract

Pengembangan bahasa Indonesia dipengaruhi oleh tercapainya peran pemerintah Indonesia pada kancah Internasional . Hal tersebut kini semakin terealisasikan, terlihat dari banyaknya pengajar bahasa Indonesia yang dikirim untuk mengajar BIPA di luar negeri. Dalam mempembelajari sebuah bahasa dibutuhkannya bahan ajar yang memadai. Berdasarkan hasil temuan pada salah satu lembaga di Thailand, kurangnya bahan ajar yang memadai di sekolah tersebut khususnya bahan ajar BIPA tingkat pemula level 1. Pengadaan bahan ajar tersebut harus sesuai dengan kebutuhan pembelajar. Penelitian ini berupaya mengembangakan bahan ajar BIPA Thailand tingkat pemula level 1, yang disesuaikan berdasarkan analisis kebutuhan dari praktisi BIPA dan pembelajar BIPA Thailand. Penelitian pengembagan ini menggunakan model pengembangan R&D Borg dan Gall. Penelitian ini menggunakan tiga metode pengumpulan data yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan kuisioner untuk memperoleh data kebutuhan pengembangan dan evaluasi bahan ajar. Sumber data terdiri dari guru BIPA, pembelajar BIPA Thailand, ahli BIPA dan ahli materi. Penelitian menggunakan analisis data deskriptif kualitatif dan deskriptif kuantitatif.Kata Kunci: bahan ajar BIPA, BIPA Thailand, tingkat pemula level 1

Abstract

Seiring dalam pengembangannya, pembelajaran BIPA sudah dikenal di beberapa belahan dunia seperti Filipina, salah satunya di Philippine Normal University South Luzon. Dalam kegiatan pembelajaran BIPA di lembaga tersebut, para pemelajar seringkali mengalami kesalahan berbahasa. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini dilakukan bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan berbahasa Indonesia dalam pembelajaran BIPA di Philippine Normal University South Luzon. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian dikumpulkan menggunakan metode dokumentasi dan teknik simak catat. Dari data-data yang sudah didapatkan, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan metode agih yang alat penentunya yaitu berasal dari unsur bahasa itu sendiri dengan menggunakan metodologi hasil analisis data dengan enam langkah metodologi analisis kesalahan yaitu berupa pengumpulan data, identifikasi kesalahan, pengelompokan kesalahan, frekuensi tipe kesalahan, identifikasi lingkup tipe kesalahan, dan usaha perbaikan. Selain itu, data dalam penelitian ini juga dianalisis menggunakan metode padan yang alat penentunya bukan bagian dari bahasa. Dari kedua teknik analisis data tersebut selanjutnya akan disajikan dengan memberikan penjelasan secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan berbahasa dalam pembelajaran BIPA di Philippine Normal University South Luzon ditemukan dua puluh data kesalahan pada tataran fonologi, tiga data kesalahan pada tataran morfologi, empat data kesalahan pada tataran sintaksis, sembilan data kesalahan pada tataran semantik, dan sepuluh data kesalahan pada ejaan. Oleh karena itu, dengan adanya penelitian ini diharapkan dapat dijadikan gambaran bagi pengajar BIPA untuk dapat menciptakan pembelajaran yang tepat serta mudah dipahami oleh para pemelajar sehingga dapat meminimalisir kesalahan berbahasa.
