Abstract

Changes are rapidly occur in this world, especially developments in the field of information and communication technology. Man must be able to adjust quickly to keep up. Developments in information and communication technology has made it easier for people in work. Utilization of information and communication technology are expected to make work performed by humans is more effective and efficient. National Library of Indonesia mandated by Law No. 43 of 2007 as an adviser to all types of libraries throughout Indonesia. In carrying out the task, the National Library should coordinate with local government including the provincial government, represented by the provincial library which can be said to represent the provincial government in the affairs of the library. National Library of Indonesia in coordination with the provincial library has been facilitated by information and communication technology such as telephone, fax and internet. In addition, coordination can also be done through conventional correspondency or direct face to face. This study tried to define which communication system that is commonly used by the National Library of Indonesia when coordinating with the provincial library and the reasons that lie behind them. The method used in this research is descriptive with a participatory approach, the researchers and respondents are equal and shared a mutual cooperation. This research indicates that face-to-face coordination is more preferred, because face-to-face coordination offers a social and economical benefit. Abstract

High school students have known as Gen Y or Z and their media using can be understand on their information-seeking behavior. This research’s purposes were: 1) to analyze the students’ motivation; 2) to analyze the critical thinking and academic verification; 3) to analyze the information-seeking behavior. This study used quantitative approach through survey among 1125 respondents in nine clusters, i.e. Central, East, North, West, and South of Jakarta, Tangerang, Bekasi, Depok, and Bogor. Schools sampling based on "the best schools rank" by the government, while respondents have taken by accidental in each school. Construct of questionnaire included measurement of motivation, critical thinking and academic verification, and the information-seeking behavior at all. The results showed that the motivations of the use of Internet were dominated by habit to interact and be entertained while on the academic needs are still relatively small but increasing significantly. Students’ self-efficacy, performance and achievement goals tend to be high motives, however the science learning value, and learning environment stimulation were average low motives. High school students indicated that they think critically about the various things that become content primarily in social media but less critical of the academic information subjects. Unfortunately, high school students did not conducted academic verification on the data and information but students tend to do plagiarism.

The purpose of this study to analyze the influence of the use of community library and information literacy of the PAUD Mother and Parent of  early childhood of in the Sambikerep Village, Surabaya City. The population in this study were all Mother and Parents PAUD as Community Library users totaling 292 people. A sample of 64% from the population that found as many as 186 respondents. The sampling technique used in this study is the probability sampling is using simple random sampling. On average respondents about the use of TBM is 3.687 and the information literacy of users is 3,853. Abstract

Along with the rapid advancement of technology development led to the amount of information available is also increasingly abundant. The aim of this study was to determine how the implementation of information retrieval system in the classification of the journal by using the cosine similarity and K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN).The data used as many as 160 documents with categories such as Physical Sciences and Engineering, Life Science, Health Science, and Social Sciences and Humanities. Construction stage begins with the use of text mining processing, the weighting of each token by using the term frequency-inverse document frequency (TF-IDF), calculate the degree of similarity of each document by using the cosine similarity and classification using k-Nearest Neighbor.Evaluation is done by using the testing documents as much as 20 documents, with a value of k = {37, 41, 43}. Evaluation system shows the level of success in classifying documents on the value of k = 43 with a value precision of 0501. System test results showed that 20 document testing used can be classified according to the actual category

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of Corporate Governance mechanism onasymmetric information. Corporate Governance mechanism is the subject which protect investorfrom asymmetric information. The sampling method in this research uses purposive samplingwhich selected sample by the criteria. They are companies which the 10th highest rank of IICGfrom 2004-2007. The analysis used descriptive statistics, classic assumption test and multipleregression analysis. The result shows the Corporate Governance mechanism has the significantimpact on asymmetric information. The Corporate Governance index and managerial ownershiphave negative impact on asymmetric information. It shows that the increasing of CorporateGovernance index and managerial ownership will decrease the asymmetric information. Theinstitutional ownership board of commisioner composition and size have not negative impact onasymmetric information significantly. Keywords : Corporate Governance Mechanism, Corporate Governance Index, Asymmetricinformation

Abstract

Nowadays, fresh water availability is a problem and require serious attention from all parties. Urbanization in Kayuambon Village causes highly growth population and require fresh water to support the needs, it resources come from groundwater. This research aims to determine the groundwater direction and accumulation based on groundwater modeling using IDW, Kriging, Spline, and Minimum Curvature interpolation techniques. Result shows that Kriging interpolation technique has the highest validity then others with ME = 0.316833, RMSE = 10.68147, and R2 = 0.88934. Groundwater modeling results also found that Kayuambon Village has two cone of depression are located in the central and northern of the village which known as concentration of groundwater flow. This study is expected to be a consideration for people and stakeholders to realize sustainable groundwater utilization.
