Abstract

This research is qualitative descriptive research with a fixed case study that has the following objectives: to describe students' opinions in the text about "Services in Private Hospitals are better than services in State Hospitals". Hence after, to determine and describe data expressions included in the appraisal category. Furthermore, to describe data expressions included in appraisal appreciation. The data in this study were obtained through document analysis and Focus Group Discussion (FGD). The instruments in this study were documentation and interviews. In the study, 444 data were found. The 403 data were included in the category of Appraisal assessment types: Appreciation-Valuation. The data obtained were divided into 2 types of assessments, 1) assessment of Private Hospital and State Hospital services, 2) assessment of Private Hospital and State Hospital facilities. From these findings, the average expression used by students to describe Private Hospital services was; quality and so on 20 data, professional 22 data, faster 12 data, fast 10 data, quality 20 data, friendly 8 data, more friendly 10 data, friendly 8 data, more friendly 10 data, efficient 22 data, great 13 data, good 19 data, and bad 1 data. Based on the study, it was found that there were shortcomings in the results of the argumentative text produced by students. When asked to write an argumentative text, students in giving their opinions were still not persuasive. There are fundamental differences that students must understand regarding the differences between opinion texts and argumentative texts, namely: the purpose of making the text.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to find out how to implement the Teaching at The Right Level (TaRL) approach through differentiated learning on Biographical Text material at SMA Negeri 1 Mataram which is integrated with the Merdeka Belajar Curriculum. There are several objectives for implementing differentiated learning, including: 1) meeting the individual needs of students; 2) increase student achievement; 3) increase students' motivation and interest in learning; 4) develop social and collaborative skills; 5) increase students' self-esteem; and 6) increasing student involvement. The application of differentiated learning places the teacher as a facilitator who helps students meet their needs. In differentiated learning, the teacher provides an understanding of the material by paying attention to the level of readiness, interests and learning styles of students. Apart from that, teachers can also make modifications to lesson content, learning processes, products or results of the lessons taught, and the learning environment.

Abstract

Tafsir hukmi is a method of Qur'anic interpretation that focuses on legal verses (ayat al-ahkam) related to Islamic law. The background of this study highlights the need for a deeper understanding of tafsir hukmi, particularly in its historical development, relevance, and application to Islamic jurisprudence. This method emerged alongside the growing necessity for Muslims to comprehend the legal aspects of the Qur'an, both textually and contextually, especially during the formation of the various schools of Islamic law. The objective of this article is to explore the definition of tafsir hukmi, review its historical evolution, and analyze the different scholarly views regarding literal and contextual approaches in this interpretation. The study employs a descriptive-analytical method through a literature review. Data were gathered from academic sources such as books, journals, and tafsir works related to tafsir hukmi. The analysis focuses on how tafsir hukmi was applied by scholars from the Prophet’s time through the development of legal schools, and the challenges it faces in addressing contemporary legal issues. The findings indicate that while tafsir hukmi provides clear legal guidance, it is also criticized for its limitations in addressing the broader spiritual and moral dimensions of the Qur'an’s message.

Abstract

Around the world, with technology that improves over time, almost everyone can access the internet easily and quickly. With the increase in the use of the internet, the plagiarism of information that is easily available on the internet has also increased. Such plagiarism seriously undermines originality and ethical principles. In order to prevent these incidents, there is plagiarism detection software for many countries and languages, but there is no plagiarism detection software for the Myanmar language yet. In an attempt to fill that gap, this study proposed a deep learning model with Rabin-Karp hash code and Word2vec model and built a plagiarism detection system. Our deep learning model was trained by randomly obtaining information from Myanmar Wikipedia. According to the experiments, our proposed model can effectively detect plagiarism of educational content and information from Myanmar Wikipedia. Moreover, it is possible to distinguish plagiarized texts by rearranging words or substituting words with some synonyms. This study contributes to a broader understanding of the complexities of plagiarism in the Myanmar academic area and highlights the importance of measures to effectively prevent plagiarism. It maintains the credibility of education and promotes a culture that values originality and intellectual integrity.

Abstract

This community service aims to help students become skilled at writing negotiation texts. This activity was carried out at UNP Laboratory Development High School. The implementation of learning to write negotiation texts in Community Service applies learning with a differentiated approach. Efforts are made to implement differentiated learning by paying attention to learning activities that can accommodate students according to their needs and learning styles. The method used in Community Service is a learning method with the application of differentiated learning. Learning differentiates learning pressure according to students' learning styles, namely visual, auditory, and kinesthetic. The results of the service implementation show that students in the auditory, visual, and kinesthetic learning groups can follow the learning process well. Negotiation text learning activities became interesting, students were actively involved, and the results of students' negotiation text writing skills showed an average score of 84 at a mastery level of 76-85% in the Good category.

Abstract

In the digital era, the accessibility of vast textual data, including the Quran, has facilitated broader comprehension of its teachings. This study analyzes the emotions in the English translation of Surah Yusuf using the NRC Emotion Lexicon. The findings show that trust is the most dominant emotion (22.89%), followed by joy (15.66%), anticipation (13.25%), sadness (12.05%), fear (10.84%), anger (9.64%), surprise (8.43%), and disgust (7.23%). These results confirm the text's diverse emotional expressions and the effectiveness of the lexicon-based method. The research aligns with the initial goals and highlights the potential of emotion analysis in understanding religious texts. Future research can expand the analysis to more verses and use machine learning for improved accuracy. This study aids scholars and students in exploring the Quran's emotional and spiritual dimensions and can be adapted to other texts for broader applications.

Abstract

This paper aims to describe how data-driven learning can be applied in English classes when teaching descriptive text to senior high school students. This study was a self-observation involving 24 high school social studies students. The data were obtained from observation of student activities during learning, and the tasks carried out by students were in accordance with the basic competencies of the descriptive text material. The data were analyzed by conducting sorting the data and analyzing the sorted data by codifying and reporting the data. The results of this study showed that the application of data-driven learning with communicative learning methods can make students more confident in their abilities during the learning process. The use of data-driven learning is expected to increase students' motivation and learning abilities, especially in the field of writing.

Abstract

Cooperative learning is a teaching approach that places students in groups to work together to complete learning targets. Many studies have focused on the implementation of cooperative learning in the classroom. However, only few studies discuss using cooperative learning in the writing classroom on narrative text learning from the student’s perspective. This research aims to find out students’ perceptions of the use of cooperative learning in narrative text learning and the implementation of cooperative learning in teaching writing in narrative text learning. Using a qualitative method with the case study approach, this research was conducted in one of the private schools in Banjarmasin, with six students and a teacher as participants. This study used classroom observation and interviews in data collection and documentation as an additional instrument to describe cooperative learning in writing classes for narrative learning. The results of this study confirmed that most students positively agree with the use of cooperative learning in terms of group collaboration, discussion, and information exchange in the classroom. However, time consumption factor was a major concern for students with the highest score. In spite of these findings, further studies are needed to expand the scope of using cooperative learning in the teaching of integrated language skills in the classroom.

Abstract

This research examines the use of the constructivism approach to develop students’ critical thinking for writing analytical exposition texts. This notion appears as the response to the student’s problem in constructing analytical exposition text critically. The primary resources of this literature review research are written and spoken literature. This study explains the foundation of constructivism approach to develop students’ critical thinking for writing analytical exposition texts. According to the discussion of this literature research, the constructivism approach can be used to create essential thinking since it lets the students construct knowledge by themselves from natural and contextual experiences in the field. That is why the constructivist approach has the potential to develop students’ critical thinking while writing analytical exposition texts. However, teachers and students should understand this approach, especially in implementing it, to maximize the use of constructivism for developing critical thinking in writing analytical exposition texts.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis makna metafungsional dalam teks editorial "Urgensi Revisi UU Sisdiknas" yang dimuat di media Tempo.com. Analisis dilakukan dengan pendekatan Linguistik Sistemik Fungsional (LSF), yang meliputi analisis terhadap fungsi bahasa dalam teks berupa analisis ideasional, interpersonal, dan tekstual, serta konteks situasi yang mencakup medan, pelibat, dan sarana. Data penelitian ini berupa teks editorial "Urgensi Revisi UU Sisdiknas. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan metode deksriptif. Sumber data yakni "Urgensi Revisi UU Sisdiknas" yang dimuat di media Tempo.com. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik dokumentasi, teknik baca, dan teknik catat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dalam teks editorial ini, fungsi ideasional mengungkapkan proses-proses seperti tindakan penyusunan, penilaian, dan proyeksi dalam pembahasan revisi UU Sisdiknas. Fungsi interpersonal mengarah pada pernyataan pendapat dan evaluasi yang disampaikan oleh berbagai aktor, seperti tokoh-tokoh pendidikan dan pejabat pemerintah. Fungsi tekstual mendukung keberlanjutan komunikasi dalam teks, memperlihatkan bagaimana klausa-klausa dalam teks saling berhubungan untuk membangun argumentasi yang kohesif. Selain itu, dalam konteks situasi, teks ini menggambarkan medan kebijakan pendidikan dan perdebatan tentang urgensi revisi UU, dengan pelibat utama adalah pemerintah, tokoh pendidikan, dan masyarakat luas, serta sarana utama berupa media massa yang menyampaikan informasi kepada publik. Analisis ini juga menunjukkan bahwa fungsi bahasa yang ada dalam teks editorial dapat dijadikan sebagai materi ajar dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia Umum di perguruan tinggi. Melalui pendekatan makna metafungsional, mahasiswa dapat mempelajari bagaimana teks dibangun untuk menyampaikan pesan dan membangun argumen dalam konteks sosial dan politik. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pemahaman penerapan Linguistik Sistemik Fungsional dalam analisis teks editorial serta implementasinya dalam pembelajaran bahasa di perguruan tinggi.
