Abstract

Purpose: The House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (DPR-RI) is mandated to represent the people's voice through general elections. This role becomes meaningful when DPR ensures transparency by providing public access to information. However, its commitment to information disclosure is questionable, especially after limited public access to documents related to the KPK Law revision, Omnibus Law, and the Job Creation Bill. This study analyzes the implementation of public information disclosure policies within the DPR-RI. Methodology: This study uses a descriptive qualitative method. Primary and secondary data were obtained through in-depth interviews with key informants and literature studies related to the topic. Result: The research shows that the implementation of the Public Information Disclosure Law in the DPR-RI is not yet optimal. This is particularly seen in the underutilization of media channels and poor management of information sources. Conclusion: The ineffectiveness of public information disclosure implementation in DPR-RI stems from limited use of digital media, weak performance of the Information and Documentation Management Officer (PPID), and lack of institutional commitment. These factors obstruct transparency and accountability in a democratic legislative institution. Limitation: This study is limited to evaluating the DPR-RI and does not include a comparative assessment with other government institutions or legislative bodies. Contribution: This research contributes to the theoretical and practical understanding of public information policy implementation in legislative institutions as part of communication policy studies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the use of Information Technology (IT) in rural communities. Amidst rapid technological developments, rural communities have also begun to adopt IT, although they still face various obstacles such as limited infrastructure and low digital literacy. Through literature studies and previous research, it was found that the use of IT has had a significant impact on rural communities, including social, economic changes, and access to health and education services. However, greater efforts are still needed to increase IT adoption in rural areas and overcome existing obstacles. Further research is also needed to better understand the factors that influence IT adoption and its long-term impact on rural development. Thus, this study is expected to provide valuable insights for policy makers, practitioners, and academics in efforts to improve digital inclusion and the welfare of rural communities.

Abstract

In the modern technological era, mastering computer network literacy is very important, especially for vocational high school (SMK) students majoring in Computer and Network Engineering (TKJ), preparing to face Industry 4.0 and 5.0. To enable students to apply basic network understanding in the workplace, they need theoretical knowledge and practical experience. This training aims to increase students' interest and understanding of computer networks using practice-based training and software simulations such as Packet Tracer and VirtualBox. The methods used include interactive material delivery, hands-on exercises, open discussions, and evaluations using pre-tests, post-tests, and interest questionnaires. The results show a significant improvement: the average pre-test score for computer network literacy, which includes components of basic knowledge, understanding of topology, and network configuration, was 43.2% and increased to 71.93% after the training, with a gain of approximately 28.73%. Besides cognitive aspects, affective aspects such as students' interest and self-confidence were also significantly enhanced. These findings support an applied and practical learning approach, essential to improve network literacy among SMK students, and emphasize the need for collaboration between education and industry to prepare a competent and ready workforce to face future technological challenges.

Abstract

Abstract

Accountability of local government financial statements is an important aspect in realizing transparency and good governance, so that the quality of information presented can be trusted by the public. Increasing this accountability requires qualified human resources, reliable accounting information systems, effective internal controls, and consistent accounting policies. This research aims to analyze the influence of human resource quality, accounting information systems, internal control, and accounting policies on the accountability of regional government financial reports. The research was conducted at the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD) of Sidoarjo Regency, with an observation period from the first quarter to the third quarter of 2024. The study utilized a quantitative research method incorporating descriptive and associative strategies. Questionnaires were administered to staff responsible for financial report compilation to gather data. Multiple linear regression was employed for data analysis to assess the impact of various factors on financial report accountability. The discoveries revealed that the quality of human resources, accounting information systems, internal control, and accounting policies positively and substantially influence regional government financial report accountability. The evidence points to the fact that enhanced human resource quality, upgraded information systems, efficient internal control measures, and sound accounting policies lead to heightened accountability in regional government financial reporting.
