Abstract

This study aims to investigate the communication strategies utilized by employees of the Transportation Service of Central Aceh in disseminating technical information about the Vehicle Roadworthiness Test (known as Uji KIR in Indonesia) to the public in Central Aceh Regency, while also identifying the obstacles that hinder their effectiveness in conveying the information. The employed data collection methods were interviews, literature studies, and observations. Furthermore, the obtained data were analyzed qualitatively. The research findings revealed that the communication strategy used by employees of the Transportation Service of Central Aceh in providing technical information on the Vehicle Roadworthiness Test was communication planning and management strategies. The Transportation Service of Central Aceh, particularly the head of the Workshop-and-Testing Division, undertakes a planning process that involves preparing and developing procedures for implementing the Vehicle Roadworthiness Test, evaluating the test directly in case of issues, and strategizing to disseminate information through the government’s internal media. To provide information about the Vehicle Roadworthiness Test, the Transportation Service of Central Aceh manages the implementation and preparation of a communication strategy that considers four factors: identifying the target audience, which includes owners of public transport vehicles; formulating messages to be conveyed to the vehicle owners; determining effective communication methods; and identifying the appropriate media for transmitting information to the vehicle owners. The purpose of communication planning and management strategies is to inform public transport vehicle owners about the procedure for taking the Vehicle Roadworthiness Test at the Transportation Service of Central Aceh.

Abstract

The term "quality of financial reports" describes a well-organized document that provides information that is simple to understand and can be used as a foundation for future decision-making. It shows the financial condition, transactional activities, and financial performance of local governments. Reliability, understandability, comparability, and relevance are all requirements for a high-quality financial report. The purpose of this study is to investigate how Bapenda's financial reports are affected by regional financial supervision and information technology. 62 respondents were given questionnaires as part of the study, which was carried out at the Sumedang Regency's Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda). In this study, a quantitative methodology was used. SPSS version 27 was used to process the data, which included descriptive statistical analysis, tests for validity and reliability, and traditional assumption testing, such as tests for heteroscedasticity, multicollinearity, and normality. Multiple linear regression analysis, t-tests, F-tests, and coefficient of determination tests were used to test the hypotheses. Information technology and financial oversight both have a favorable impact on the quality of financial reporting, according to the results of the partial test (t-test). Furthermore, the simultaneous test (F-test) showed that both factors work together to improve the caliber of financial reporting. These results imply that raising the caliber of local government financial reports is facilitated by advancements in financial supervision and information technology.

Abstract

Tutoring (BIMBEL) is a form of non-formal education that plays a role in improving students' academic achievements. Oemah Sinau Indonesia (OSI) in Banjarnegara still uses Excel and physical reports to record learning activities and student development, making the process of searching and distributing data less efficient. This study aims to build a web-based information system for learning activities and student development using the PIECES analysis as a system evaluation method at OSI tutoring. The system development uses the Waterfall method with PHP programming language, Laravel framework, and data storage based on Firebase Realtime Database. System testing is conducted using Black-box testing to ensure the system functions according to user needs, and all 10 test scenarios were successfully executed with a "successful" status. System feasibility evaluation uses PIECES analysis (Performance, Information, Economy, Control, Efficiency, Service) was conducted through the distribution of questionnaires to 11 respondents consisting of admins, mentors, and student guardians. The evaluation results showed an average feasibility score of 95%, categorized as very feasible. Specifically, the Performance and Efficiency aspects received the highest scores of 97%, indicating an improvement in the speed and ease of administrative processes as well as real-time access to information. Based on the testing and analysis results, this system is considered effective in replacing manual record-keeping, improving data accuracy, strengthening access control, and facilitating communication between the tutoring center and student guardians. Thus, this information system is proven feasible to be used as a solution for digitalizing learning administration at OSI.

Abstract

Diabetes is the “mother” of various diseases increasing the risk of morbidity and mortality. Diabetes self-management, an effort made by patients to control blood sugar levels, is an important part of the management strategy. Therefore, this study analyzed information, motivation, and behavioral skills associated with diabetes self-management. Data were collected in the Special Capital Region of Jakarta, with 277 diabetic patients selected using a questionnaire by a systematic random sampling method. The analyzed variables were information (with indicator variables of information on physical activity, nutritional intake, drug consumption, and blood sugar monitoring); sociodemographic (age, sex, occupation, education level, and duration of diabetes); motivation (barrier, benefit, self-efficacy, severity, and susceptibility); and behavioral skills (new motor, self-regulatory, and social skills), which were analyzed to identify their influence on diabetes self-management using structural equation modeling. The results indicated that information and motivation significantly and positively affected behavioral skills; while, sociodemographic did not. Behavioral skills had a significant and positive effect on diabetes self-management. Accordingly, people with diabetes information, motivation, and behavioral skills need to be improved to increase the success of diabetes self-management.

Abstract

Early initiation of breastfeeding (EIB) has many benefits for both the baby and the mother. However, in Bogor City, there are still many babies who do not get EIB when they are born (33.6%). The implementation of EIB is not optimal due to the absence of standard procedures to equalize its theory and perception. This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of using Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) flowchart media concerning the standard procedure for EIB implementation in the Primary Health Care (PHC) in Bogor City. A quasi-experimental research was conducted on 58 midwives divided into the intervention and control groups. The intervention group was given IEC flowchart media, the EIB standard procedure, whereas the control group was given a brief explanation about EIB. The results indicated that the intervention group (96.0) had a higher average EIB implementation score than the control group (84.7). Furthermore, the success rate of EIB was higher in the intervention group (93.1%) than in the control group (20.7%). In conclusion, the IEC flowchart media is effectively used to optimize EIB implementation by midwives in the PHC in Bogor City.

Abstract

Hospital information systems (HIS) have been applied on a massive scale; however, user evaluation of their effectiveness, efficiency, and service quality improvements remain rare. This study aimed to describe the utility of information systems from the users’ point of view by using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) in a maternity hospital in Lampung, Indonesia. The study provided an overview of the features of the information system and the workflow of the user through this information system. Screenshots were taken by using Camtasia Studio 2.0 Trial Version application software for one day (two shifts) in the outpatient service. The HIS generally supported the workflow, but not all application modules were fully applied. The obstacles appear to be at the registration unit/outpatient registration and queue dashboard, cashier unit, pharmacy unit, medicine storage/room, and poly unit/checking room. A TAM framework, which included perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness of the information system, revealed that the currently implemented HIS was not perceived as optimal. However, users are still optimistic and aware of the usefulness of the information system in supporting their jobs. Thus, leaders have committed to initiate the potential development of this information system in the inpatient polyclinic.
