Abstract

Adopting and successfully implementing information systems in higher education is essential for improving administrative processes and communication and supporting academic activities. However, the hierarchical nature of such organizations poses unique challenges that must be addressed for the effective adoption of information systems. This study proposes a framework to assess the performance of hierarchical organizations in effectively implementing information systems in universities. The proposed framework evaluates various dimensions that influence the successful adoption of information systems in hierarchical organizations. This dimension includes leadership support, communication channels, organizational culture, and resource allocation. The conceptual framework provides a holistic assessment of an institution’s ability to effectively adopt and utilize information systems. A structural equation model and Smart Partial Least Squares (Smart PLS) were used for data analysis. Using a sample of 121 respondents, data were collected using a questionnaire instrument using the Google Form link at Banten Province higher education leadership levels. This framework provides a structured approach to assessing the performance of hierarchical organizations in terms of the adoption of information system success in higher education institutions. By leveraging this framework, institutions can enhance their information system adoption processes and ultimately improve their effectiveness in using information systems for academic and administrative purposes. The results indicate that hierarchical organizations can optimize performance when implementing higher education information systems, focusing not only on the technical aspects of the system but also on organizational culture, communication, and leadership involvement.

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the implementation of the Creative Problem Solving (CPS) model has an effect on student learning outcomes in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) with study case at Public Junior High School N 7 Amabi Oefeto Timur. The methodology consisted in a quasi-experimental design study through the comparison of results under the pedagogy model CPS, taught to an experimental group and on traditional education, implemented on control group. Results showed that the experimental group had higher post-test scores than the control group in higher order thinking skills (problem-solving abilities) and understanding of ICT concepts. This was additionally seen with classroom observations where the students in the experimental group presented greater involvement, confidence in applying concepts of ICT to practical issues and collaboration with the peers. The first thing the CPS model did was start teaching students to think critically, accept that there are always multiple solutions and that together they can solve the problem. The findings indicated that the CPS model is an appropriate pedagogy for enhancing ICT learning performance, especially in resource-poor school contexts. The study suggests that the CPS model should be more prevalent in ICT education and should also be applied in online learning settings.

Abstract

The rapid adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the construction industry requires vocational civil engineering graduates to develop competencies beyond technical modeling skills, including interdisciplinary coordination and collaborative project workflows. However, BIM instruction in vocational higher education remains predominantly software-oriented and lacks structured integration of authentic industry practices within formal coursework. This study aimed to develop and validate a semester-integrated simulation-based learning model embedded in a compulsory BIM course. Using a Research and Development approach based on the ADDIE framework, the study involved competency gap analysis, model design, expert validation, and classroom implementation. Five experts—two BIM academics, one instructional design specialist, and two industry practitioners—evaluated the model, resulting in an overall mean feasibility score of 4.48 (SD = 0.18), categorized as Highly Valid. The model was implemented over one semester with 32 fourth-semester students. CLO-aligned performance assessment showed average scores of 82.6 in modeling accuracy, 79.4 in coordination quality, 84.1 in clash detection effectiveness, and 86.3 in teamwork, while 81% of students reported improved understanding of interdisciplinary BIM workflows. The findings demonstrate that structured simulation supports industry-aligned competency development in vocational BIM education.
