Abstract

Abstract

The research compares three Linux distributions; Kali Linux, Fedora and Rocky Linux to determine which Linux Operating Systems are best tailored to support practicum activities in Information Systems Department in Faculty of Industrial Engineering Telkom University. Given the rise in importance of Linux in today’s learning institutions due to its open source nature, configurability, and stability, choosing the right operating system to run laboratories on is important. The evaluation approach applies the TOPSIS method of multi-criteria decision analysis using the direct rating method to assign weights to the criteria. The evaluation is done across four areas: tool compatibility, systems defaults, user experience and performance & stability. Simulated practicum were done within five laboratory modules to evaluate each OS in the context of realistic practices. These results indicate that Rocky Linux as the first OS is highest in readiness, compatibility and reliability, with Fedora and Kali Linux following closely behind. These results can be used by educational institutions to better design system environments to support engineering education and good/secure/sustainable learning environments. Abstract

Technology skills development is provided through practicum in the Information Systems Department. But, the fact that various laboratories need varying tools and configurations in their systems makes it highly inconsistent and can affect the experience of practicum for students. Plus, one of the other purposes of this research is to expose students to different operating systems, particularly by exposing them to Linux based systems as part of an approach to expand the students’ technical skills beyond what is most commonly used such as Windows. Thus, this study aims to identify which is the most appropriate OS to be used in supporting laboratory practicum activities in the Department of Information Systems. The research adopted the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method as its experimental methodology. Of these four criteria, the researcher identified four main categories: compatibility of tools, default system configuration, user experience and performance. The assessment consisted of running each of the practicum modules on three operating systems (Ubuntu, Rocky Linux, and CentOS Stream), noting any issues encountered, as well as a penalty for incomplete modules. The results show Rocky Linux at 58.2%, CentOS Stream at 26.1% and Ubuntu at 15.8%. It was determined that Rocky Linux was the best-suited operating system for use during the practicum, because of its compatibility and performance. Abstract

This study investigates the effect of information sharing and trust on supply chain management (SCM) performance, with long-term relationship as a mediating variable. A census sampling technique was applied to 45 Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Yogyakarta’s Bakpia industry. Data was analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results indicate that information sharing (β = 0.405) and trust (β = 0.410) significantly influence long-term relationships. Long-term relationships, in turn, have a strong positive effect on SCM performance (β = 0.378). Information sharing also directly affects SCM performance (β = 0.367), while trust shows a weaker direct effect (β = 0.212). Indirectly, both information sharing (β = 0.149) and trust (β = 0.151) contribute to SCM performance through long-term relationships as a mediator. The total effect analysis further highlights that information sharing (β = 0.578) and trust (β = 0.499) enhance SCM performance, with long-term relationship showing the highest total effect (β = 1.149). These findings emphasize the critical mediating role of long-term relationships in strengthening supply chain collaboration, particularly where trust alone may not directly drive performance. The study contributes to SCM literature by providing empirical evidence from SMEs in the traditional food sector and offers practical implications for managers to prioritize both transparent information exchange and sustainable partnerships to improve supply chain outcomes.

Abstract

Multiple micronutrient supplements (MMS) are widely recommended during pregnancy to prevent anemia and improve maternal nutritional status. Despite their proven benefits, adherence to MMS intake among pregnant women remains suboptimal, contributing to the persistently high prevalence of maternal anemia in many low- and middle-income countries. Effective Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) delivered by health workers may play a crucial role in improving maternal knowledge and adherence to supplementation. This study aimed to examine the association between the quality of IEC provided by health workers and compliance with MMS consumption among pregnant women. A cross-sectional study was conducted involving 30 pregnant women selected through a total sampling method. Data were collected using validated and reliable questionnaires measuring the quality of IEC and adherence to MMS intake. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize participant characteristics, and the association between IEC quality and MMS compliance was analyzed using the Chi-square test. Odds ratios (OR) were calculated to estimate the strength of the relationship. The majority of respondents received high-quality IEC (63.3%), and 66.7% of pregnant women reported compliance with MMS consumption. Statistical analysis revealed a significant association between IEC quality and MMS compliance (p = 0.012). Pregnant women who received high-quality IEC were 10.5 times more likely to adhere to MMS intake compared with those who received poor-quality IEC (OR = 10.5). The quality of Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) significantly influences pregnant women’s compliance with MMS consumption. Strengthening structured, interactive, and continuous IEC during antenatal care is recommended to improve adherence to supplementation and ultimately enhance maternal nutritional outcomes.

Abstract

This study analyzes the iterative application of Rapid Application Development (RAD) in the engineering of an employee performance appraisal information system within a higher education context. The system was developed to replace a spreadsheet-based process that involved manual score aggregation and fragmented data storage. Using a software engineering case study approach, this research examines how system requirements evolved across development iterations. Design artifacts produced during successive RAD cycles were analyzed as evidence of requirement refinement. The findings show that early development focused on functional centralization, while later iterations introduced configurable modules for evaluation criteria, evaluator assignment, and score normalization. These interface and module revisions reflect progressive clarification of organizational needs and stabilization of business logic. The study demonstrates that RAD supports requirement refinement through iterative prototyping, especially in systems involving multiple roles and configurable structures. The results provide process-oriented insight into requirement evolution in internal organizational information systems.
