Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has changed the landscape of the labor market in Indonesia, especially in the fast-growing information technology sector. Generation Y and Z employees have high expectations for workplace welfare, including employee benefits. This study aims to analyze the effect of employee benefits preferences, both direct financial compensation, indirect financial compensation, and non-financial compensation on the job retention of generation Y and Z employees at PT X. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach with a survey method. The sample consisted of 88 respondents randomly selected from a total population of 727 employees. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using validity and reliability tests, as well as regression analysis. The results showed that all types of compensation have a significant effect on job retention. Direct financial compensation exerts the greatest influence, followed by non-financial compensation. Employees who are satisfied with employee benefits tend to be more loyal and have a lower desire to change jobs. Employee benefits preference has a positive impact on the retention of generation Y and Z employees at PT X. To increase retention, companies need to pay attention and improve the quality of employee benefits offered. This research provides input for companies in designing more effective human resource management strategies.

Abstract

Hypothesis testing is a crucial stage in quantitative research to examine the validity of preliminary assumptions based on empirical data. In higher education, particularly in the Undergraduate Information Systems Study Program, Faculty of Computer Science, Universitas Putra Indonesia YPTK Padang, hypothesis testing plays an important role in producing accurate information regarding relationships and influences among variables related to learning processes, information technology utilization, and students’ academic achievement. However, limited student understanding of hypothesis testing often leads to less optimal research outcomes. This study employed a quantitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to students as respondents and analyzed using inferential statistical techniques, including validity and reliability testing, regression analysis, and hypothesis testing through t-tests and F-tests with the assistance of statistical software. The results revealed that the proposed hypothesis was accepted, with significance values lower than the error level (α = 0.05), leading to the acceptance of H₁ and rejection of H₀. These findings confirm significant relationships and influences among the investigated variables, contributing to improved learning quality and academic performance. In conclusion, proper application of hypothesis testing enhances the validity, reliability, and credibility of student research. Strengthening students’ understanding of hypothesis testing concepts and techniques is essential to support the quality of academic research in the Undergraduate Information Systems Study Program

Abstract

Alignment between organizational strategy and information technology (IT) is a key factor in improving institutional performance, especially in higher education institutions facing rapid digital transformation. This research aims to evaluate the alignment between institutional strategy and IT at Institut Shanti Bhuana using the Strategic Alignment Model (SAM), in order to identify gaps and provide recommendations for improving IT utilization and institutional effectiveness. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach with data collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The evaluation focuses on four main domains in SAM: business strategy, IT strategy, organizational infrastructure and processes, and IT infrastructure and processes. The results show that Institut Shanti Bhuana has implemented various IT initiatives to support academic and administrative activities; however, gaps remain in strategic planning integration, communication between management and IT units, and optimization of IT resources. These gaps may reduce the effectiveness of IT in supporting institutional goals. The study concludes that improving strategic and IT alignment requires strengthening governance, enhancing communication, and developing integrated IT planning. The findings are expected to provide practical guidance for more effective IT implementation in higher education institutions

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has encouraged business owners to adopt digital systems to improve operational efficiency and service quality. Cerita Teras Coffee Shop still relied on a manual sales process, which often resulted in delayed transaction recording, difficulties in managing sales data, and less effective promotional activities. This study aims to design and implement a web-based coffee sales information system to improve transaction management and business operations. The research employed a developmental research method with a qualitative approach through observations and interviews to identify system requirements, followed by a quantitative approach to evaluate system performance. The research stages consisted of problem identification, data collection, requirement analysis, system design using the Waterfall method, system implementation, and testing through Black Box Testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT). The developed system provides features for online ordering, product management, customer management, transaction processing, and automated sales reporting. The testing results indicate that all system functions operated successfully according to user requirements, while the User Acceptance Test achieved a satisfaction score of 90.91%, indicating that the system was highly accepted by users. Therefore, the proposed web-based sales information system effectively improves operational efficiency, facilitates transaction management, and enhances service quality at Cerita Teras Coffee Shop.

Abstract

Digital transformation in Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) presents a distinctive information-governance challenge because parental demands for access to students' academic information must coexist with institutional policies, teacher verification processes, and restricted student use of personal mobile devices. Existing educational information systems generally provide either role-based access without approval workflows or fragmented monitoring services, while structured authorization mechanisms incorporating professional human judgment remain insufficiently explored in this context. This study proposes a mobile-based Smart School Information System that introduces a Human-in-the-Loop Request–Response access control mechanism to regulate parental access to sensitive academic information while preserving institutional governance. The system was developed using a Research and Development (R&D) approach integrated with a prototyping methodology, employing Flutter as the cross-platform mobile framework and Laravel as the REST API backend with Laravel Sanctum token-based authentication. Functional performance was evaluated through Black Box Testing comprising 45 role-based scenarios, with seven critical scenarios reported in detail, while user acceptance was assessed using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) involving 59 respondents representing parents, teachers, homeroom teachers, ustadz, and school administrators. The 45 role-based functional test scenarios achieved a 100% success rate, indicating that the implemented functions operated according to their specified requirements. TAM analysis revealed that Perceived Usefulness (β = 0.390, p < 0.001), Perceived Ease of Use (β = 0.324, p < 0.001), and Attitude Toward Using (β = 0.308, p = 0.002) significantly influenced Behavioral Intention to Use, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.734. These findings demonstrate positive user acceptance of the implemented system and confirm that the Request–Response authorization workflow operated according to its specified functional rules. The results provide functional and user-acceptance evidence for the implementation of the proposed mechanism in the studied pesantren context, rather than establishing the broader effectiveness of the mechanism in balancing information privacy and institutional governance. This study contributes a Human-in-the-Loop Request–Response authorization framework that extends conventional Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) by incorporating structured human decision-making into educational information systems. Abstract

Student scholarship management in Jayawijaya Regency still faces various challenges, including non-integrated data management, administrative processes that are still performed manually, low transparency, and ineffective coordination among stakeholders. These conditions result in delays in scholarship distribution, difficulties in monitoring and decision-making that is not yet supported by integrated data. This study aims to design and evaluate an Integrated Student Information System to support scholarship management by applying the Design Thinking approach combined with the Agile Scrum development framework. The Design Thinking process was used to identify stakeholder needs, formulate system requirements, and generate solution concepts, which were subsequently translated into nine Product Backlog items to be developed incrementally through three development sprints. The resulting prototype includes multi-role authentication, student dashboard, Education Office dashboard, online scholarship application, verification and validation, application status tracking, student data management, communication and notification, and reporting. The prototype was subsequently evaluated using the System Usability Scale involving 41 respondents. The evaluation results produced an average score of 74.39, indicating that the prototype falls within the Acceptable category with good usability. The findings demonstrate that the integration of Design Thinking and Agile Scrum is capable of producing a user-centered prototype, improving transparency, coordination and supporting the digital transformation of scholarship management in Jayawijaya Regency.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of information technology has encouraged Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to adopt digital solutions to improve business performance and customer service. Stasiun Jajanan is a culinary MSME that offers various fast-food products, including kebabs, burgers, fried tapioca fritters, Indonesian fried tofu meatballs, and beverages. Promotional activities, order processing, and transaction recording are still conducted manually, resulting in limited promotional reach, inefficient data management, and potential recording errors. This study aims to design and develop a web-based restaurant information system to support business promotion, online ordering, and transaction management for Stasiun Jajanan. The system was developed using the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) with the Waterfall model, consisting of requirement analysis, system design, development, and testing. Unified Modeling Language (UML) was utilized to model the system through use case, activity, sequence, and class diagrams. The developed system provides several features, including menu management, online ordering, payment processing, transaction management, business information services, and WhatsApp integration for customer communication. System testing was conducted using the Black Box Testing method to verify that all functionalities operated according to the specified requirements. The testing results indicate that the developed system successfully supports menu management, customer ordering, payment processing, and transaction recording. The system improves service efficiency, reduces manual recording errors, and provides customers with easier access to product information and ordering services. The proposed system can therefore support the digital transformation and business growth of culinary MSMEs.

Abstract

The rapid acceleration of small enterprise operations requires service sectors to transition from conventional management practices to high-efficiency computerized architecture. Ema Laundry encountered critical operational bottlenecks, including error-prone manual ledger entries, physical order tracking inefficiencies, and decentralized revenue recording which hampered business growth. This study addresses these challenges by implementing a secure, responsive, web-based laundry management information system designed to optimize micro-business transactional workflows. Developed utilizing the Laravel framework, a relational MySQL database, and Bootstrap components, the platform integrates automated computations to handle complex processing states and evaluate invoice calculations with high precision. The system engineering process undergoes systematic lifecycle validations, including rigorous data flow structural checks and comprehensive functional black-box evaluations to ensure stability under operational load. The implementation establishes clean data normalization patterns, eliminates tracking redundancies, and significantly improves service velocity. By providing a scalable digital transformation blueprint, this system contributes to the field of modern small business informatics, demonstrating that localized enterprise applications can be successfully modernized to enhance overall service delivery quality and administrative accountability. This research serves as a viable technical foundation for future integration with predictive behavioral analytics and broader service management ecosystems.

Abstract

Abstract The Customer Information System (CIS) application of Perumda Air Minum Surya Sembada Surabaya is one of the digital services supporting public service delivery. However, no systematic usability evaluation has been conducted to date, while users continue to report various complaints through Google Play Store reviews, including slow application performance, confusing navigation, and inconsistent self-meter reading schedules. This study aims to produce interface improvement recommendations for the CIS application through the Design Thinking approach and to evaluate the usability level of the resulting interface design using the System Usability Scale (SUS). Data collection was carried out through content analysis of 20 Google Play Store reviews and in-depth interviews with 20 customers. The evaluation results indicate that the main issues include slow application performance (60 percent) and inconsistent self-meter reading schedules (25 percent). Based on these findings, interface improvement recommendations were developed through the Design Thinking stages, resulting in a Figma-based interactive prototype featuring simplified navigation, billing information cards, water consumption graphs, meter reading reminder features, and the AIRA chatbot. The prototype was then evaluated using SUS with 30 general respondents and 5 expert respondents, obtaining SUS scores of 86 for general respondents and 81 for expert respondents, both of which fall into the Excellent category. The results demonstrate that usability evaluation combined with the Design Thinking approach is capable of producing interface recommendations with a high usability level, which can serve as a reference for future CIS application development.

Abstract

Sex classification is a fundamental stage in forensic anthropology because it provides the basis for constructing an individual's biological profile during the identification process. Although Support Vector Machine (SVM) has demonstrated high performance for craniometric sex classification, previous studies have primarily focused on classification performance using the complete feature set, with limited evaluation of the trade-off between feature reduction and predictive performance. Therefore, this study aims to evaluate the influence of Information Gain feature selection on SVM performance, identify the optimal combination of Information Gain threshold and SVM kernel configuration, and analyse the trade-off between feature reduction and classification performance. The proposed approach was evaluated using the William W. Howells Craniometric Dataset consisting of 2,524 skull samples. After removing identification attributes, 82 predictor features were used for classification. The research process included data preprocessing, label transformation, Z-score normalization, Information Gain feature selection using threshold values of 0.01, 0.05, and 0.1, followed by classification using SVM with Linear, Radial Basis Function (RBF), Polynomial, and Sigmoid kernels. Model performance was evaluated using 10-fold cross-validation based on Accuracy, Precision, Recall, and F1-score. The baseline SVM model without feature selection achieved an accuracy of 89.59% using 82 features. Experimental results show that Information Gain effectively reduced feature dimensionality while maintaining competitive classification performance. The best feature-selection result was obtained using an Information Gain threshold of 0.01, which retained 68 features. The optimal configuration used the RBF kernel with C = 1 and gamma='auto', achieving an Accuracy of 89.42%, Precision of 90.73%, Recall of 89.69%, and F1-score of 90.17%. Compared with the baseline model, the Information Gain-based model reduced the number of features by 17.07% while producing an accuracy difference of only 0.17 percentage points. These findings indicate that Information Gain primarily contributes to feature reduction and model simplification rather than improving classification accuracy. The results demonstrate that a moderate reduction in craniometric features can maintain classification performance close to the baseline model and highlight the trade-off between feature reduction and predictive performance in computer-assisted forensic sex classification.
