Abstract

Background: Advances in communication technology have driven the increased use of instant messaging apps like WhatsApp, including chat backup features, which are linked to security and user trust in cloud-based data storage. This situation is exacerbated by low user digital literacy, with most users unaware that WhatsApp message backups on Google Drive are not automatically protected by end-to-end encryption. Objective: This study aims to analyze the factors influencing user perceptions of security and trust in WhatsApp's chat backup feature and their impact on continued usage intentions using the Push–Pull–Mooring (PPM) model. Methods: Data were collected through an online questionnaire from 447 active WhatsApp users aged 20–50 in Indonesia and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with the help of SmartPLS 4 software. Results: The results showed that institutional privacy concerns had no significant effect on usage intention (p = 0.123), while relative privacy protection had a significant but weak effect (p = 0.049; f² = 0.008). Regarding the mooring factor, evaluation cost (p < 0.001; β = 0.309) and transition cost (p < 0.001; β = 0.510) significantly influenced switching exhaustion, while replacement cost had no significant effect. Furthermore, switching exhaustion was shown to significantly influence usage intention (β = 0.418; p < 0.001). Conclusion: Results indicate that user decisions are influenced not only by perceived security and trustworthiness, but also by barriers and psychological fatigue when considering switching services. A Goodness of Fit (GoF) value of 0.460 indicates the model's overall performance is good.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the influence of information systems, transformational leadership, and organizational culture on employee performance with generational groups as moderating variables at the Religious Court in the former Surakarta Residency area. This study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive methods. The population in this study were all employees of the Religious Court in the former Surakarta Residency area. Data collection was conducted by distributing questionnaires to respondents who met the research criteria. Data analysis used the Partial Least Square–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with the help of SmartPLS software through outer model testing, inner model testing, hypothesis testing, and Multi Group Analysis (MGA) to examine differences in influence between generational groups. The results of the study indicate that information systems, transformational leadership, and organizational culture have a positive and significant effect on employee performance. This finding indicates that the better the implementation of information systems, the more effective the transformational leadership implemented by leaders, and the stronger the developing organizational culture, the higher the resulting employee performance. The results of the generational group moderation test indicate differences in the strength of influence between generational groups on the relationship between information systems, transformational leadership, and organizational culture on employee performance. Thus, generational characteristics are a factor that needs to be considered in efforts to improve employee performance in the Religious Court environment in the former Surakarta Residency area..

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Flight Information Display System (FIDS) facilities on passenger satisfaction, measure the magnitude of the effect of FIDS facilities on passenger satisfaction, and analyze the differences in the effect of FIDS facilities on passenger satisfaction between the Domestic Terminal and the International Terminal at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali. The study was motivated by the important role of FIDS in providing accurate, timely, and easy-to-understand flight information. The different characteristics of domestic and international passengers are expected to result in different effects of FIDS on passenger satisfaction. This study employed a quantitative method with a descriptive-associative approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 400 respondents, consisting of 200 passengers from the Domestic Terminal and 200 passengers from the International Terminal. The data were analyzed using classical assumption tests, simple linear regression analysis, partial tests (t-test), the coefficient of determination (R²), and the Chow Test. The results indicate that the Flight Information Display System (FIDS) has a positive and significant effect on passenger satisfaction in both the Domestic and International Terminals, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. The coefficient of determination (R²) shows that FIDS explains 74.5% of passenger satisfaction in the Domestic Terminal and 72.8% in the International Terminal. Furthermore, the Chow Test result shows that the calculated F-value of 5.71 is higher than the F-table value of 3.02 (5.71 > 3.02), indicating a significant difference in the effect of FIDS on passenger satisfaction between the Domestic and International Terminals. Therefore, the quality of the Flight Information Display System plays an important role in improving passenger satisfaction, with a greater influence in the Domestic Terminal than in the International Terminal.

Abstract

Value Added Tax (VAT) is one of Indonesia's primary sources of government revenue and plays a significant role in supporting fiscal sustainability. The increase in the VAT rate from 11% to 12% has generated diverse public responses, particularly among young adults, yet limited empirical research has examined university students' perceptions of this policy. This study aims to investigate the perceptions of students at K.H. Abdurrahman Wahid State Islamic University Pekalongan regarding the implementation of the 12% VAT increase. A quantitative survey approach was employed using a structured online questionnaire administered to students of the Islamic Economics Study Program through purposive sampling. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques, including frequency distributions and percentage analysis, to identify patterns in students' awareness, perceptions, and responses to the policy. The findings reveal that although most students are aware of the VAT increase, their understanding of its fiscal objectives and economic implications remains limited. Social media serves as the primary source of policy information, while higher education institutions play a relatively minor role in promoting economic literacy. Students also reported varying perceptions regarding the policy's impact on personal expenditures and its fairness, with these differences influenced by socioeconomic conditions and financial circumstances. Furthermore, respondents emphasized the need for more effective government communication and complementary support measures, such as scholarship programs, to mitigate the policy's impact on vulnerable groups. The study contributes to the literature on public perceptions of fiscal policy and provides practical insights for policymakers and educational institutions to enhance economic literacy and improve public acceptance of taxation reforms.

Abstract

Background: Sexual risk behavior literacy is essential for helping adolescents understand, evaluate, and apply sexual and reproductive health information in making safe health decisions. However, the increasing use of digital media as a health information source does not always ensure adequate literacy. This study aimed to examine factors associated with literacy in sexual risk behavior among high school students in Central Kalimantan, Indonesia, with particular attention to gender and exposure to health information.Method: : A cross-sectional study was conducted from February to March 2026 among Grade X students at a public vocational high school in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia. From a population of 451 students, 90 participants were included using proportionate stratified random sampling across 12 classes. Data were collected using a structured self-administered questionnaire covering socio-demographic characteristics, health information exposure, and sexual risk behavior literacy. Data were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics version 25. Result: Most respondents had poor literacy in sexual risk behaviors (74.4%), whereas 25.6% demonstrated good literacy. In the multivariable model, female students had higher adjusted odds of good literacy than male students (AOR = 4.654; 95% CI: 1.454–14.896; p = 0.010). Adolescents obtaining information from formal sources had approximately four times higher adjusted odds of good literacy than those relying primarily on social media (AOR = 4.003; 95% CI: 1.213–13.207; p = 0.023). Strengthening credible school-based and healthcare-based education, gender responsive engagement, and critical appraisal of digital information is therefore necessary.

Abstract

Digital transformation has become an important component of public sector reform, including at the village level. However, the implementation of Village Information Systems in rural areas continues to face challenges associated with unstable internet connectivity, fragmented administrative applications, limited human capacity, and inconsistent data management. These conditions affect the effectiveness of Electronic-Based Government Systems (SPBE) and hinder the continuity of public services. This study aims to examine digital governance challenges in village administrations and develop a conceptual Hybrid Interoperability Model for Village Information Systems in Garut Regency, Indonesia. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed using semi-structured interviews, observations, and document analysis involving 19 informants from village governments, district institutions, Diskominfo, and DPMD. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that fragmented systems and infrastructure limitations represent not only technical issues but also institutional challenges that influence administrative performance. In response to these conditions, the study proposes a Hybrid Interoperability Model that emphasizes administrative continuity, institutional coordination, and adaptive digital governance. The study contributes to the literature by reconceptualizing interoperability as a governance mechanism rather than merely a technological function. Practically, the findings provide insights for SPBE implementation and village governance reform in rural contexts characterized by infrastructural uncertainty and unequal digital capacities.

Abstract

This study analyzes the implementation of the Khanza Hospital ‎Management Information System in outpatient services at Bhayangkara ‎Brimob Hospital, Depok, and its contribution to perceived and process-‎based service efficiency. The field study was conducted in 2025 using a ‎descriptive qualitative design. Thirty-eight participants were selected ‎purposively: 29 main informants from registration, outpatient clinics, ‎pharmacy, cashier/finance, and information technology, and nine ‎triangulation informants in coordinating or supervisory roles. Data were ‎collected through guided in-depth interviews with open-ended questions, ‎direct observation, and document review. Interview recordings were ‎transcribed, organized by participant characteristics and work units, and ‎analyzed using five implementation dimensions—infrastructure, human ‎resources, standard operating procedures, supervision, and external ‎systems—together with recurring usability and technical issues. Findings ‎were strengthened through cross-source triangulation. Khanza supported ‎integrated information flow, electronic clinical documentation and ‎prescriptions, more structured pharmacy and financial processes, ‎improved data accessibility, and better inter-unit coordination. ‎Nevertheless, these benefits were constrained by dependence on a single ‎internet provider, non-uniform updates, software errors, interface ‎complexity, incomplete medical-device integration, data-entry errors, ‎and uneven supervision and user adoption. The study therefore ‎supports a positive contribution to perceived and process-based ‎outpatient efficiency rather than quantified economic or time efficiency. ‎Strengthening governance, role-based training, systematic monitoring, ‎network redundancy, usability, data validation, and interoperability is ‎recommended.
