Abstract

The computer-based information system (CBIS) is adopted by almost all of in health care setting, including the primary health center in East Java Province Indonesia. Some of softwares available were SIMPUS, SIMPUSTRONIK, SIKDA Generik, e-puskesmas, etc. Unfortunately they were most of the primary health center did not successfully implemented. This study applied the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) to assess intention and usage of CBIS in East Java. It was a cross-sectional survey, conducted on February-Maret 2015. A total 30 of user CBIS were identified and questioners were distributed which 100% completed. The user’s CBIS intention was significantly influenced by performance expectancy, effort expectancy and social influence. CBIS usage was significantly influenced by user’s intention and facilitating conditions. UTAUT results indicated that the facilitating conditions have a major impact to use of CBIS in primary health center. The results of this study can be helpful to the East Java provincial Health Office to adjust their program strategies and tactic for providing user’s CBIS facilities in order to implement CBIS successfully.

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the relationship between pre-service teachers’ web pedagogical content knowledge and online information searching strategies. In accordance with the aim, the correlational comparative survey method is used. The participants of the study are 220 university students from a faculty of education of a state university. The data of the study is gathered by Turkish versions of “Teachers’ Self-Efficacy toward the Web Pedagogical Content Knowledge Scale” and “Online Information Searching Strategy Inventory”. Canonical correlation analysis is used to determine the relationship between these two scales. As a result of the study, 17.3% common variance is determined between web pedagogical content knowledge and online information searching strategies.

Abstract

Parents often inhibit learning process organized by education, due to their ignorance about how to educate child well. Incapability of dealing with those changes leads to dysfunctional families, and problematic children. This research aimed: to analyzed the health promotion information access pattern of parent caretaking pattern through parenting education. This study was taken place in Karanganyar Regency area, Central Java. As a survey research with cross-sectional design, this study built on questionnaire as a main instrument of collecting primary data, while secondary data was obtained from recording in the related institutions in Karanganyar Regency. The sample consisted of 108 parents, taken using purposive sampling technique. To address the objective, multiple linear regression and path analyses were used. Its important finding was that interactions with other students’ parent, with other members of family, and with media simultaneously affected significantly the parenting pattern holistically, either directly or indirectly. The largest effect on parenting was exerted by interaction between parent and media. From those findings, the author recommended that the appropriate parenting education strategies were to provide adequate information such as reading books for parent, to facilitate parent discussion to generate interaction between parents so that they shared information more frequently.

Abstract

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) applications require a thorough understanding of drivers' route choice behavior in a complex network under real-time information. The purpose of this paper is to describe and model driver route choice behavior in a road network based on real time traffic information at the disaggregate individual level and from a psychological decision-making process perspective. The framework of routing choice and driver dynamic route choice behavior model that uses concepts from Decision Field Theory (DFT) and Bayesian belief network (BBN) is proposed. A real-time planning algorithm for route choice processes is discussed in great detail. Using this algorithm, a driver develops his route dynamically until he reaches his destination. The simulation results show that the combination of DFT and BBN can effectively describe the driver's travel dynamics behavior. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i3.4466

Abstract

Dissemination methods of tsunami Information in Cilacap uses voice and siren. There are some constraints on the methods, especially in social aspects for particular society. Utilization of electronic information board is one of alternative solutions that can be offered to the society in responding tsunami information or warning. In this paper, a wireless electronic information board is designed to display the tsunami disaster warning visually. In normal condition or when there is no disaster, the information board can be utilized to display the information about evacuation procedure. The proposed electronic information board is implemented in multicolor using three sets of LED dot matrix panel P10 which have 32 x 16 pixels resolution and is controlled using microcontroller. The result showed that this device was capable to show the tsunami information such as “Status Awas”, “Status Siaga”, “Status Waspada”, and “Evacuation Route”.

Abstract

The paper considers the problem of modeling the processing of geodynamic information in a reconfigurable information-communication environment of geodynamic monitoring based on an adaptive queuing system. It was established that due to the complexity and diversity of geodynamic information, the number of geodynamic control points is expanding and the number of controlled parameters, the number of controlled objects of natural-technical systems (NTS) are increasing. This leads to an increase in the overall load on the info-communication monitoring environment, an increase in the processing time and the response time of the NTS geodynamic stability control system to negative changes. This leads to the need for adaptive optimization of the info-communication environment of geodynamic monitoring. The model of a composite stream describing the change in the nature of the tasks performed by geodynamic monitoring was determined, approaches to reconfiguration management based on minimization of the loss functional were proposed. The constructed model of the process of functioning and the analytical dependencies obtained for it allow analyzing the process of processing geodynamic information in info-communication environments to optimize the mechanisms of their functioning.

Abstract

Information Technology (IT) governance has been emerging as a central issue in many organizations. This is because IT governance is key to realizing IT business value. Past studies have focused on the three aspects of IT governance, namely, structural capability, process capability and relational capability.  At the same time, some studies have suggested that IT governance process should be viewed as a learning process rather than a problem solving process. Based on this scenario, the role of knowledge and knowledge based processes should be the central focus of IT governance.  As a learning process, IT governance effectiveness can be determined by how much impact IT governance practices has influenced on decision-makers’ thinking and actions. In this case, knowledge capacity absorbed from IT governance experience reflects a certain level of organizational learning (OL) achieved which later influences the level of IT governance performance. Since studies that adopt this perspective is lacking, this paper proposes a conceptual framework based on absorptive capacity approach for an IT governance performance model in the higher education. The paper contributes theoretically by extending the knowledge of IT governance by exploring a new perspective on OL.

Abstract

In this study, we developed a document for managing Information Technology suppliers in hospitals. This document is used to ensure the proper management of IT suppliers in the hospital. Products and services in Information Technology have characteristics and specifications that are always up to date, making it difficult for non-IT people to understand. Hospitals whose main business in the health sector is often lack of human resources who understand IT. Observations and interviews were conducted in Indonesian hospital, to identify the characteristics and problems in supplier management. Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and government regulations on supplier management were reviewed and combined as a benchmark and guidance on how supplier management activities are carried out. The result of the process is a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) document.    The parties involved in the supplier management process have evaluated the SOP document. From the results of the study, it is known that currently, the hospital is still focused on procedures procurement of goods and services that are government regulated. This study proposes some new activities that are not currently done by the hospital.

Abstract

Itis well-known that information security means the protection of information,and ensuring the availability, confidentiality and integrity of information. The purposeof this paper is to present an improved RBF neural network method forinformation evaluation. Ant colony optimization is a multi-agent approach fordifficult combinatorial optimization problems, which has been applied tovarious NP hard problems. Here, ant colony optimization algorithm is applied tooptimize the parameters of RBF neural network. In this paper, we employ  “unauthorized access”, “unauthorized accessto a system resource”, “data leakage”, “denial of service”, “unauthorizedmodification data and software”, “system crash” as the features of informationsecurity evaluation. It is indicated that the information security evaluation error of the improvedRBF neural network is smaller than that of the RBF neural network. Abstract

Information system integration (ISI) is one of the development concerns for organizations to enhance business competitiveness. However, the implementations still present its failures. Despite the ISI may successful technically; but it still seems to be unsuccessful because of the human and management issues. The issues may relate to the readiness constructs of ISI. This study was aimed to know the status of the readiness and success of ISI and to assess the influential factors of the integration in the sampled institution. About 160 samples were purposely involved by considering their key informant characteristics. The data were analyzed using the partial least squares-structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) method. The findings revealed only the user satisfaction variable that mediated the positive effects of the readiness variables towards variable of the system integration success. Besides, the findings may practically helpful for stakeholders in the sampled institution, but it may also theoretically useful for researchers in regard to the readiness and success issues of ISI.
