Abstract

Involvement of digital information in almost of enterprise sectors makes information having value that must be protected from information leakage. In order to obtain proper method for protecting sensitive information, enterprise must perform risk analysis of threat. However, enterprises often get limitation in measuring risk related information security threat. Therefore, this paper has goal to give approach for estimating risk by using information value. Techniques for measuring information value in this paper are text mining and Jaccard method. Text mining is used to recognize information pattern based on three classes namely high business impact, medium business impact and low business impact. Furthermore, information is given weight by Jaccard method. The weight represents risk levelof information leakage in enterprise quantitatively. Result of comparative analysis with existing method show that proposed method results more detailed output in estimating risk of information security threat.

Abstract

In accordance with e-government initiatives, many ministries in Malaysia have engaged content to public using social media for better two-way communications. However, creating an online presence is not necessarily easy as digital content consumers are often bombarded with information and those that fail to capture information will be rendered uninteresting and irrelevant. This is imperative as for most part, users are in control of where they allocate attention and what they share. Using virality as a context, it is opined that information content that are well-designed will trigger specific information and propel the sharing of that information over the Internet. A study employing FB post categorization and sharing motivations survey was carried out in the context of Ministry of Health Malaysia Facebook page. The findings show that users are inclined towards Infographics with various sharing motivations. The results can be used by Malaysian ministries on how best to design and disseminate information for the benefit of the netizens on social media sites.

Abstract

In order to satisfy the increasing data rate demands, the research in the fifth-generation (5G) wireless networks is ongoing, both in academia and industry. In this research, we propose and investigate adaptive relaying protocol (ARP) For wireless energy harvesting (EH) and information processing in NOMA systems. Firstly, we investigate and derive the closed-form and integral-form expressions of the outage probability (OP) of the model system. Then, all the results are convinced by the Monte Carlo simulation. The research results show that all the analytical and simulation results are the same in connection with the primary system parameters. This research can provide a recommendation for NOMA system network.

Abstract

Electromagnetic leakage will happen in working information equipments; it could lead to information leakage. In order to discover the nature of information in electromagnetic leakage, this paper combined electromagnetic theory with information theory as an innovative research method. It outlines a systematic model of electromagnetic information leakage, which theoretically describes the process of information leakage, intercept and reproduction based on electromagnetic radiation, and analyzes amount of leakage information with formulas. DOI : http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i2.4010

Abstract

Stroke ranks the third leading cause of death in the world after heart disease and cancer. It also occupies the first position as a disease that causes both mild and severe disability. The most common type of stroke is cerebral infarction, which increases every year in Indonesia. This disease does not only occur in the elderly, but in young and productive people which makes early detection very important. Although there are varied of medical methods used to classify cerebral infarction, this study uses a multiple support vector machine with information gain feature selection (MSVM-IG). MSVM-IG is a modification among IG Feature Selection and SVM, where SVM conducted doubly in the process of classification which utilizes the support vector as a new dataset. The data obtained from Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital, Jakarta. Based on the results, the proposed method was able to achieve an accuracy value of 81%, therefore, this method can be considered to use for better classification result.

Abstract

Information security risk assessment was an important component of information systems security engineering and the selection of assessment method had a direct impact on the final results of the assessment. But there were too many elements in the process of information security risk assessment. How to find the optimal elements from many elements to simplify the calculation of risk value and provide a strong basis for taking relevant measures, which was a problem needed to be solved. In addition, the reliability of the risk assessment results could not be guaranteed only through a single qualitative or quantitative assessment method. By Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), the relative weight of elements related to information security risk could be calculated. Then the optimal indicators, which provided a strong basis for taking relevant measures, could be selected by sorting the weights of elements to reduce the number of indicators. Moreover, Analytic Hierarchy Process, a method of the combination of qualitative and quantitative assessment methods, could overcome the shortcomings of single qualitative or quantitative assessment method.

Abstract

In rough set theory, attribute reduction aims to retain the discernability of the original attribute set, and many attribute reduction algorithms have been proposed in literatures. However, these methods are computationally time-consuming for large scale datasets. We develop a bisection method for attribute reduction and the main opinion is to partition the universe into smaller ones by using partition core attributes to reduce the complexity. Experiments and analysis show that, compared with the traditional un-bisection reduction algorithm, the developed bisection algorithm can significantly reduce computational time while maintaining their results as same as before. http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v12i9.4913

Abstract

Despite, Bangladesh produces many IT graduates each year but only one tenth of total graduates contribute in IT development sector. In order to keep the contribution to economy through IT development, it is crucial for IT industry to know the factors that influence turn away of IT graduates. In this paper, building upon role stress theory, we develop a research model to explore the influence of workplace exhaustion and threat of professional obsolescence (TPO). Data were gathered from 185 IT professionals from 15 different IT companies through survey questionnaire. The structural equation modelling technique was used to test the paths. The results suggests that strong influence of TPO on turn-away intentions. Result also suggests significant roles of work overload, family-career conflict and control over career and workplace exhaustion on turn away intention. This paper contributes to the body of work dedicated to helping us better understand the turn away behaviour from the workplace exhaustion and TPO perspectives. From the viewpoint of practice, this research sheds light on some of the challenges that the IT industry might face when making strategy and policy to control turn away from IT profession in Bangladesh

Abstract

This paper proposed an improved algorithm applied in video intelligent traffic control system for vehicle detection. The accuracy of original algorithm, which is based on the comparision of contrast and luminance distortion of present image with background, reduces greatly under bad weather because of false detection caused by noises in captured images. In this paper we chose Daubechies wavelet as mother wavelet to add a 2-dimension wavelet process before the algorithm, just after the imageis captured, to de-noise each captured image. We used FPGA-based equipments to test the algorithm, and the experiment proved higher performance of improved algorithm, especially under bad weather. http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/telkomnika.v11i1.1916
