Abstract

In the digital era, the quality of accounting information systems is an urgent need to support effective decision making. This study aims to analyse the effect of information technology sophistication, internal control, top management support, and innovative culture on the quality of accounting information systems. This research uses a quantitative method with a survey involving 96 respondents from various companies. Data were collected through questionnaires and analysed using SEM-PLS. The results showed that the sophistication of information technology and innovative culture had a significant effect on the quality of accounting information systems. In contrast, internal control and top management support showed no significant effect. In addition, innovative culture cannot mediate the relationship between top management support and accounting information system quality. These findings provide new insights into the importance of implementing modern technology and innovative culture to improve the quality of accounting information. In conclusion, companies need to focus on technological innovation and organisational culture to ensure reliable accounting information systems.

Abstract

The dissemination of hoaxes as a form of digital information crime presents a serious challenge in modern society. Hoaxes not only cause individual harm but also disrupt social stability. Therefore, a legal approach is required that is not solely legalistic but also grounded in ethical and moral values. This research is focused on identifying the legal elements in hoax crimes according to the ITE Law and fiqh jinayah, analyzing the form and purpose of sanctions given in both legal systems, and providing integrative recommendations for law enforcement of information crimes in Indonesia that consider the principles of Islamic law as the moral and spiritual values of the nation. This study employs a library research method using a qualitative-descriptive approach. Data were obtained from academic literature, classical and contemporary fiqh texts, statutory regulations, and accredited scientific journals, then analyzed through a comparative legal framework. The Indonesian Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) imposes criminal sanctions in the form of imprisonment and fines on hoax perpetrators, aiming to create a deterrent effect and protect the public. Meanwhile, fiqh jinayah views the dissemination of hoaxes as jinayah al-lisan (verbal offense), which may be subject to ta’zir punishment based on the extent of harm caused. The principles of maqasid al-syariah and social responsibility reinforce the urgency of education and substantive justice. The fiqh jinayah approach may complement positive law in addressing hoaxes by prioritizing public interest (maslahah), prevention, and moral values. Integrating Islamic legal principles into national law constitutes a strategic solution to the complexity of digital information crimes.

Abstract

This study evaluates the role of the Legal Documentation and Information Network (JDIH) at the Bengkulu Kemenkumham Regional Office in increasing access to legal information for the public. Access to transparent and easily accessible legal information is essential to increase legal awareness and public participation in the policy process. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study examines how JDIH functions as a legal information center and the factors that influence its effectiveness. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with JDIH managers, Regional Office employees, and service users, as well as observations of the legal document management system. The results of the study indicate that JDIH has provided complete, systematic, and online access to legal information. The public can obtain laws and regulations, legal monographs, and free legal consultation services that help them understand applicable laws. In addition, regular updates of legal information also increase the benefits of JDIH for users. However, challenges are still found, such as limited competent human resources, inadequate technological infrastructure, and low accessibility of information for people in remote areas with limited internet access. The level of JDIH utilization is also still relatively low due to the lack of socialization of services to the public. To improve its effectiveness, training is needed for managers, strengthening of technological infrastructure, and wider socialization so that this service is better known. In addition, there needs to be policy support that strengthens the management and distribution of legal information. Collaboration with educational institutions, local governments, and civil society organizations can also expand the reach of information and increase efficiency in the dissemination of legal information. With these steps, JDIH is expected to further contribute to increasing the transparency of legal information and strengthening public participation in legal development in Indonesia.

Abstract

Improving financial management effectiveness in cooperatives, particularly Savings and Loans Cooperatives, can be better achieved through the implementation of an accounting information system. The effectiveness of an accounting information system refers to the extent to which the system can collect, process, store data, and provide information and reports in a timely manner. This study aims to examine the influence of personal technical skills, management participation, and the utilization of information technology on the effectiveness of accounting information systems. The sample consisted of 118 cooperative employees who use information systems in their daily work, selected using a purposive sampling method. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire, and the analytical technique used was multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that personal technical skills, management participation, and the utilization of information technology have a significant positive effect on the effectiveness of accounting information systems. This study provides empirical evidence supporting the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), which explains that the acceptance of a technology is mainly influenced by two key factors: perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness.

Abstract

Background: Information governance plays a central role in ensuring transparency, accountability, and compliance in public institutions. In the context of public administration, particularly in Indonesia, the implementation of information governance remains inconsistent, leading to issues such as information disputes and limited access to public data. The Freedom of Information (FOI) Act was established to promote openness; however, its success depends significantly on the maturity level of information governance in public institutions. Objective: This study aims to analyze the maturity level of information governance in public institutions within the Yogyakarta Special Region and to explore the relationship between information governance and the implementation of the Freedom of Information (FOI) Act. The assessment framework is based on the maturity model developed by the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA).Methods: A mixed-method approach was employed, combining quantitative and qualitative data. Data were collected through surveys, interviews, and observations involving key informants and respondents, including heads of administrative units, information managers, and records managers. The study was conducted in eight government institutions in the Yogyakarta Special Region. Results: The maturity levels of information governance across the eight institutions vary significantly. They range from sub-standard to in development, essential, and transformational. None of the institutions achieved a fully transformational level. Only the Department of Agriculture attained levels 3 and 4 (essential and transformational) across all eight indicators: accountability, transparency, integrity, protection, compliance, availability, retention, and disposition. Most other institutions remain below the essential standard, especially in accountability and transparency, which are critical components for effective information governance. Furthermore, the study finds a strong interconnection between information governance and freedom of information: effective governance enhances FOI implementation, while the FOI Act positively influences governance practices. Conclusion: The maturity of information governance in public institutions in Yogyakarta remains uneven, with most institutions yet to meet essential standards. Strengthening accountability and transparency should be prioritized. The study concludes that information governance and freedom of information are inherently linked—improving one supports the success of the other. Enhancing information governance is thus essential for realizing the full potential of FOI implementation in public sector institutions.
