Abstract

Flood disaster is one of the natural disasters that cause huge losses, especially in West Sumatra Province. For this reason, a disaster alert attitude is needed by the community and students as a form of disaster mitigation, one of which is through disaster-oriented learning activities through Geography. This study aims to identify areas in West Sumatra that are potentially affected by floods and identify the types of floods that often occur in the West Sumatra region in order to determine disaster mitigation efforts. The type of research conducted is qualitative descriptive. The method used is the study of literature from various references, both reading sources and data from the West Sumatra BNPB and BPBD. The type of data used is data obtained from documentation techniques, relevant sources, and disaster data from West Sumatra BPBD and BNPB. The results of this study show that the most potentially flooded areas are Padang Pariaman Regency, 50 Kota Regency, Agam Regency, Sijunjung Regency. Types of flooding that often occur are river flooding, flash floods, and urban drainage floods. It was concluded that the implementation of flood-oriented geography learning was most appropriate to be carried out in these 4 Regency

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the competencies that principals must have in the 21st Century. Writing this article uses the literature review method, is there a qualitative descriptive data analysis technique by looking for theoretical references relevant to the cases or problems found. Based on the results of the analysis, the conclusions that answer the problem of this research are (1) the principal is someone who is given the task of leading a school, (2) the intended leadership is the ability to influence organizational resources to move to follow orders to achieve goals (4) effective principal's leadership in terms of entrepreneurial leadership, exemplary, intelligent, and democratic, (4) the 21st century is the era of technological advances in the fields of information, communication, and transportation, (5) the characteristics of the 21st century which are available access anytime, faster computing, and communication that can be done from anywhere and anywhere, (6) Competencies that principals must have to face the 21st century, namely dimensions of personality, managerial, entrepreneurial, supervision, and social competence

Abstract

The leader in the organization is very important because the leader determines whether or not the wheels of government are running. Given the importance of leaders, it can be seen that the main function of leadership in education units, such as the headmaster is to create teaching and learning situations so that teachers can teach and students can learn well. This research is descriptive analytic which examines the theories of experts on all matters relating to the leadership of principals in Islamic education units, then analyzes it to find the efforts of teacher professionalism in teaching. What will be discussed in this paper is how the leadership of the principal, the task of the principal, develops the professionalism of the teacher and the leadership of the principal in an effort to improve teacher proceduralism, so that the purpose of this research is to develop teachers as reliable teachers, and can shape character and morality children of the nation

Abstract

The selection of the right learning method greatly affects the high and low learning outcomes of students. At Pekanbaru SMPN 12, the learning strategies used by science teachers are still conventional. Learning has been teacher-centered and communication runs in one direction. The lecture method does not provide space for students to develop their knowledge. Passive learners and learning become boring. So the science learning outcomes of class VII.6 students are low. Index Card Match strategy is an active learning method for reviewing subject matter with a technique of finding index card pairs which are answers or questions while learning about a concept or topic in a pleasant atmosphere. One of them is by using Index Card Match learning strategies. This study aims to obtain data on the extent to which the application of Index Card Match can improve science learning outcomes of students of class VII.6 Pekanbaru 12 SMP. This research uses Classroom Action Research with a recycling cycle which consists of four stages, namely (a) planning, (b) implementation, (c) observation and (d) reflection. Data is collected through observation sheets, documentation studies, and tests in each cycle. The results showed that, on average, student learning outcomes increased. Percentage of completeness also increases. In the pre-study the percentage of completeness was 37.5%. the first cycle was 66.66% and the second cycle was 88.6%

Abstract

The aim of this research is to improve learning outcomes in the attitudes domain, especially scientific attitudes as the main foundation for the formation of quality human resources. The approach used in this learning is motivation, socialization, habituation and remediation (MSHR) developed by the Physics Education Study Program FKIP Pekanbaru Riau University. The research method used is classroom action research consisting of three cycles in science subjects. The subjects of this study were class VIII-5 of SMP Negeri 8 Pekanbaru in the 2017-2018 school year consisting of 42 students. The results of this study indicate that the learning approach used can be declared effective to improve the competency of students' scientific attitudes, with a high category

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of outdoor learning on the attitude of environmental care for students of Geography Education in STKIP Ahlussunah Bukittinggi. This research is an experiment to assess the effect of the educational approach on student’s attitudes and behavior before and after the treatment being given. Referred to the homogeneity test on students' cognitive ability result, it can be concluded that the characters of the subject research were homogeneous. The determination of the experimental and the control class could be done by using a random method. The result of the study shows that the implementation of the outdoor learning can improve student’s awareness toward the environment. It is detected by the significant difference of the tests results between the control class and the experimental class. The using of outdoor class approach is proven to enhance the quality of students’ attitudes in environmental learning material, because it motivates students during the learning process

Abstract

This research is distributed-because there is some mathematical learning objectives have not been achieved one of mathematical communication ability. One of the factors the lack of mathematical communication skills, students are just listening to the teacher's explanation, then record and finish the matter practice. This, resulting in students ' knowledge and understanding of the information provided is limited to the teacher. An effort to do that is by applying Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs). The purpose of this research is to find out whether the mathematical communication skills of students by using Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) better than mathematical communication skills of students by using conventional learning class XI IPS MAN 4 West Pasaman Barat. This type of research was quasi Experimental research. Sampling is done using Random Sampling techniques so that selected as experimental class is grade XI IPS 1 and as the control class is the grade XI IPS 2. Data analysis was performed using t-test with α = 0.05 level obtained thitung= and ttabel = 1,669 so > This berarti deny thus, it can be concluded that the mathematical communication skills of students by using Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) better than mathematical communication skills of students using learning conventional in class XI IPS MAN 4 West Pasaman Barat

Abstract

he development of information and communication technology with educational institutions to be able to adapt both in management and learning process, so that there is effectiveness and efficiency in achieving educational goals.The aims of this study is to reveal the use of information and communication technology in managing schools in Sumenep 1 High School by using a phenomenological qualitative approach. The results show that the use of information and communication technology can be grouped into two, namely applications developed by the provincial government and applications developed by the school itself. The obstacles faced in the use of information and communication technology are limited to the lack of technology management personnel and limited facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the benefits of using media in learning and teaching process for students in university, especially at STKIP Ahlussunnah Buktitinggi. This research used qualitative research and descriptive method. The result of this research explained that using media in learning and teaching process for students in university is very useful. The media distributed information from the informant (lecturer) to the receiver (student). Media in learning and teaching process as message deliverer technology (information) could use to teaching needs or physic tool to deliver learning subject. From this research was found that the benefits of media were to make the interaction between lecturer and students went smoothly and to help the students learned optimally.

Abstract

Carry out or manage learning about statistics is required is the liveliness of the teachers (educators) in creating and fostering activities of students (learners) learning in accordance with the plans that have been drawn up in planning (Sudjana, 2013). This research aims to know the influence of the drill method against an increase in the ability of students in the course statistics in Prima STIKes Nusantara Bukittinggi year 2018. This type of research is research experiments with design wants a Pre (Pre-Experimental Design) and design that is One Group Pre Test Post Test. Population in this study are all students Nusantara STIKes Prima registered in 2017-2018 teaching that takes eyes College statistics. The sample in this study i.e., the entire population was made a subject of research i.e. 55 students. Univariate analysis showed that the average value of Pre Test amounted to 60.82 and average value of Post Test of 78.76. Whereas, bivariat use test t-Test Dependent. Obtained results that the drill method to increase the ability of students in the course statistics in Prima STIKes Nusantara Bukittinggi year 2018 with p < 0.05 (0.0001). Therefore, it is recommended to educational institutions so that it can use this drill method can be applied in the process of learning as one of the effective methods for statistics courses
