Abstract

This research originated from the low ability of mathematical problem solving and creative thinking of students of MTs se Kecamatan Sutera. This research is Quasy Experiment. The population in this research were students of class 1thMTs se Kecamatan Sutera. Techniques used in sampling is random sampling. Test use to see the ability of problem solving and creative thinking students. Data were analyzed using mean aquality test that t-test and U-test. These result indicate that (1) the ability of mathematical problem solving and creative thinking of the students taught by using open-ended approach was better than ability mathematical problem solving and creative thinking of the students who taught by using conventional learning. (2) the ability of mathematical problem solving and creative thinking of the students with high entering behavior by using open-ended approach was better than the ability of mathematical problem solving and creative thinking student high entering behavior with taught conventional learning. (3) the ability of mathematical problem solving and creative thinking of the student with low entering behavior by using open-ended approach was better than the ability of mathematical problem solving and creative thinking of student low entering behavior with taught conventional learning

Abstract

Mathematics learning process that is still centered on the teacher caused the low ability of mathematical connections of students in grade VIII SMPN 1 Baso. This study aims to determine whether the mathematical connection ability of students using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model is better than the mathematical connection ability of students using conventional learning. The type of this research is experimental research with Randomized control group only design. The population in this study is the students of class VIII SMPN 1 Baso consisting of seven classes. Samples taken from the population were taken by Random Sampling technique. The selected sample is class VIII4 as the experimental class and class VIII3 as the control class. Data analysis technique using t test. The result of tcalculation = 7,18 and ttable = 1,679, because tcount> ttable concluded that the mathematical connection ability of students using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model is better than the students' mathematical connection ability using conventional learning in grade VIII SMPN 1 Baso Lesson Year 2017/2018

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the role of geography learning in high school determined by the students' knowledge and awareness toward the risks of flood disaster in Kecamatan Kubung, West Sumatera. The students’ awareness and response are expected during the emergency condition of flood disaster, especially in securing their life and properties. The research was conducted in several high school in Kecamatan Kubung, Kabupaten Solok. The research use sample determination table (Isac and Michael) as the sampling technique, and multiple linear regression as the analysis method. The test results shows that there is a significant influence of knowledge and awareness toward the adolescent preparedness. The influence of both factors can be seen from the value of the determination coefficient that is equal to 0.757, which means the rate of high school students’ preparadness toward the risk of flood disaster in Kecamatan Kubung is 67.5%

Abstract

This study aims to (1) To know the ability of reading al-Qur'an Khaira Ummah Islamic Elementary School students Padang. (2) PAI teacher business in improving students' Quran Reading Ability of Class IV and V at Khaira Ummah Islamic Elementary School in Padang. This research is field research (field research), This research type is qualitative research with descriptive approach. Primary data sources in this study were PAI teachers and classroom teachers, while the secondary data sources were principals, students, and school documents. data collection techniques that the author uses are oral tests, observation, interviews and documentation. To analyze the data the authors use descriptive qualitative analysis, which describes the problems that occur in the field as is. Step analysis of data is data reduction, data presentation, conclusion. Based on the research that has been done by the writer in Islamic Elementary School of Khaira Ummah Padang can be known (1) Ability of students to read al-Qur'an from 104 students found 77 get value between 84 until 91, the value belong to good category, 25 students get value between 74 and 79, this value belongs to a simple category, and 2 students gain a score of between 40 to 59, this value belongs to the weak category (2) Teachers improve skills by giving motivation to learn, be good, create atmosphere in learning , varied teaching methods, reading habits of the Qur'an and giving training tasks in accordance with the ability of learners

Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the form of idiom in the news of kiminal in Padang Ekspres newspaper and to describe the meaning of idiom in news of crime of Padang Ekspres newspaper. This type of research is qualitative by using the method of padan and agih. Data collected by using method refer and note that is: Technique of collecting data in this research by using method refer and note with step as follows (1) listening to language use in Padang Express newspaper, (2) using the technique of note, the first step is the underlined idiom, after all underlined then the idiom recorded and grouped by type of idiom and make conclusions about the results of research. The results of this study indicate that there is a full idiom type and idiom in part in the news kiminal in newspapers Padang Express. Full idiom found in 5 data while idiom partially found as many as 11 data, that is menahan diri, makan korban, tertangkap basah, lelaki hidung belang, timah panas, nasib nahas, hiburan malam, minuman keras, kepala keluarga, wali kota, dini hari , senjata api, lanjut usia, kereta api , saksi mata, orang tua. More partial idioms are found than full idioms. Overall data found as many as 16 data including idiom

Abstract

This research begins with the problem of low PKN learning outcomes in Class VII2 SMPN 1 Gunung Tuleh. This study aims to determine the results of student learning through learning model Active Learning Type Role Reversal Question. This research includes classroom action research. This study was conducted in two cycles. Each cycle consists of two meetings, each of which includes planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques with observation, documentation, and tests. Data analysis conducted in this research is reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of research on that improvement of learning outcomes can be seen from the average value of student evaluation results that have increased in each cycle. Student learning result through learning model of Active Learning Role Type Reversal Question at pre cycle stage of 30,77% (67,77) in cycle I with complete learn student that is 53,85% (72,81) and at cycle II mastery learn student ie 92.31% (82.50). Thus, the Active Learning Model Role Reversal Question model can make students feel easier to understand the material presented by the teacher. The results of this study indicate that the use of Active Learning Model Role Reversal Question type with reword action can improve learning outcomes in class VII2 SMPN 1 Gunung Tuleh

Abstract

This study aims to describe students’ difficulties in solving the problem solving mathematic problem and its causal factors. This research is qualitative descriptive research. The subject of this research is the students of class VII MTsN 12 Pesisir Selatan located in Ranah Pesisir subdistrict with the sample chosen by purposive sampling. Data obtained through tests, interviews and observations. Data validated by triangulation method. The data analysis framework is reviewed from the problem solving steps of understanding problem, problem solving strategy and problem solving result and interpretation of problem solving result (conclusion). Data analysis techniques used in this study is the percentage and data analysis techniques according to Milles and Hubermen for the analysis of difficulty and factors causing the difficulty.The results of data analysis show that, first difficulties experienced by students in understanding the problem that is identifying what is known and asked and make problems in symbol or mathematical model. Second, the students have difficulties in making the settlement strategy because they can not relate the concept to the problem or the ability of the students' mathematical connection is still weak. Third, students have difficulty in calculating the settlement because of difficulties in understanding the concept. Fourth, students who have difficulty in the previous step also have difficulty in interpreting the answers correctly

Abstract

Fall is one of the most common physical problems in the elderly that results in morbidity and mortality in the elderly. One of the risk factors of fall is independence in daily activities. The purpose of this study is to know the relationship of independence level in daily activities with the risk of falling in the elderly at PSTW WerdhaSabai Nan AluihSicincin 2017.The design of this research was descriptive analytic with cross sectional approach. The techning sampling was Propotinal Simple Random Sampling with 52 samples. Data collection used primary with questionnaire Index Katz and morse fall scale .Univariate analysis is shown in frequency distribution and bivariate table by using chi-square test.The results showed that there was a relationship between the level of independence in daily activities with the risk of falling in the elderly in PSTW Sabai Nan AluihSicincin 2017 (p value = 0,019).Based on the results of this study the risk of falling related to the level of independence. Suggestions from this study are expected that the elderly who are at risk to fall can to reduce the independence in living daily activities in order to prevent the occurrence of falls

Abstract

Communication is very important position, especially in terms of educational leadership. The purpose of this research is to describe and obtain information about communication approach and its implementation in education leadership in SD Muhammadiyah Kleco, Kotagede, Yogyakarta. This research was conducted by using qualitative descriptive approach because it needed deep and accurate data and can describe clearly and detail. Subjects of this study were principals, teachers, and employees. Data collection was done by observation and interview. The result of the research shows that the approach of communication in the leadership of education in SD Muhammadiyah Kleco, Kotagede, Yogyakarta, the principal implements the approach of structure and function of organization, human relations approach, communication approach as organizing process, and organization approach as culture. From various leadership communication approaches in the education, leaders are able to master their communication skills and utilize existing resources to overcome limitations and compose and deliver messages that provide guidance, direction, and motivation to others to act.

Abstract

The education crisis in remote areas in Indonesia is one of the main challenges hampering equal distribution of education quality. This article examines the role of technology in overcoming various obstacles faced by the education sector in these regions. Education in remote areas, from elementary to senior level, really needs the right technology so that it can develop in line with today's times. Information and communications technology (ICT) offers innovative solutions to improve access and quality of education, through e-learning, educational applications and other digital tools. However, the application of technology in remote areas faces various obstacles, including limited infrastructure, uneven internet access, and low digital literacy among teachers and students. The research method uses literature studies from various valid reading sources. This article offers various solutions and initiatives and strategies that have been implemented to overcome this challenge, such as training programs for teachers, improving digital infrastructure, and collaboration between the government and the private sector. With a holistic and integrated approach, technology can be the key to overcoming the education crisis in remote areas and encouraging better educational equality throughout Indonesia.
