Abstract

One of the key indicators for assessing the quality of higher education is the career success of its graduates. However, not all graduates succeed in securing employment in fields relevant to their area of study. This study aims to analyze the influence of academic and non-academic factors on career alignment and to develop a predictive model using machine learning algorithms. The data used in this study were obtained from an alumni tracer study and student academic records at Universitas Muria Kudus (UMK), comprising a total of 311 records after data transformation. The predictor variables include Grade Point Average (GPA), length of study, teamwork skills, and scholarship participation, with a single target variable representing career alignment. Three classification algorithms were applied: Decision Tree, Random Forest, and Support Vector Machine (SVM). The results show that teamwork skills and scholarship participation have a moderate positive correlation with career alignment, while length of study has a negative correlation, and GPA has a very weak positive correlation. Random Forest demonstrated the best performance with an AUC score of 0.86 and a Cohen’s Kappa score of 0.62, indicating good and stable classification quality. The findings from the variable analysis and classification model can be utilized in developing a career alignment prediction system and as a basis for decision-making in strategies to improve graduate quality in line with labor market needs.

Abstract

Retrieving contextually relevant verses from the Al-Qur'an translation dataset presents significant challenges due to the linguistic richness and semantic variation of the text. This study aims to enhance the accuracy and relevance of information retrieval in the Al-Qur'an translation dataset by combining Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) and FastText word embeddings. The proposed method involves several steps: text preprocessing (lowercasing, punctuation removal, stopword elimination, and stemming), tokenization and vocabulary creation, Bag-of-Words (BoW) representation, creation of LSI models, conversion of FastText vectors, and combining LSI and FastText vectors. A similarity index is then created from the combined vectors to process user queries and rank documents based on cosine similarity. Testing on the dataset, consisting of 6236 translated verses from 114 surahs, showed promising results. The combined approach effectively captures both broader semantic structures and detailed word meanings, providing more accurate and contextually relevant search results. Key findings include high similarity scores, with 90% of retrieved verses being highly relevant to the user query, an accuracy improvement to 85%, and enhanced handling of synonyms and morphological variations at 88%. Further development is recommended, including parameter optimization, advanced preprocessing techniques, real-time search optimization, integration of contextual embeddings, and multilingual support to improve search performance and accuracy.

Abstract

Abstract

PT XYZ is a company engaged in the ground coffee processing industry, producing both Arabica and Robusta coffee. The company faces a production capacity issue, as output does not meet the target due to imbalances between machine capacities and standard processing times. These bottlenecks result in work-in-progress accumulation at workstation 2 and 4, causing delays and unfulfilled orders. This study adopts the Theory of Constraints (TOC) approach, focusing on addressing constraints in the ground coffee production line. Rough-Cut Capacity Planning (RCCP) analysis identified the main constraints at workstation 2 (roasting) and workstation 4 (finishing). The recommended improvement involves adding two hours of overtime at both workstations from March 2024 to February 2025. This intervention led to a 7.42% increase in Arabica coffee production, from 7,815 kg to 8,395 kg, and a 19.69% increase in Robusta coffee production, from 6,533 kg to 7,819 kg. The improvement also resulted in a rise in company profit from IDR 1,115,060,000 to IDR 1,227,326,000, reflecting a 9.2% increase. These findings demonstrate that the proposed solution effectively optimizes production capacity and enhances company profitability.

Abstract

Monitoring student attendance and evaluating their performance in each lab lecture form the basis of the final evaluation at the end of the semester. These records (assessment, attendance) are stored on paper lists. Manual methods include a number of drawbacks, such as time loss, inaccurate results from human mistake, and difficulty obtaining reports when required. In order to address the problems with the manual student attendance and assessment technique, this study makes use of an Arduino Mega. In addition to assigning scores for each lab assignment, lecturers can input each student's attendance and performance rating. Together with the student's attendance record, these grades are stored in text files that may be accessed using Excel spreadsheets. The proposed approach aims to enhance information accessibility, reduce the amount of time spent on manual chores, and make it easier to obtain final evaluation results. It also reduces results accuracy, human error, and administrative overhead.

Abstract

Developmental disorders in early childhood are a critical issue requiring serious attention. The role of parents in stimulating and monitoring child development is crucial; however, challenges remain, such as limited understanding and access to relevant information. To address this problem, this study developed a parenting app prototype called Jejak Cilik using a Human-Centered Design (HCD) approach. The development process followed four key phases: Discover, Define, Design, and Prototype & Test. The prototype was evaluated using heuristic evaluation with severity ratings to identify interface and user experience (UI/UX) issues. In addition, completion and duration metrics were assessed to evaluate the success rate and time required to complete assigned tasks. The heuristic evaluation, involving three evaluators, revealed three aspects that required immediate improvement and four aspects categorized as low-priority issues. Meanwhile, the completion and duration metrics, tested by 20 participants, showed promising results: all tasks were successfully completed by all users, with an average task completion time of less than one minute. However, during implementation, several issues were encountered that hindered task execution. Based on the findings from both evaluations, the prototype requires further refinement to enhance overall user experience.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of Information Technology (IT) has made the need for an IT-based teaching and learning concept and procedure inevitable. This concept, widely known as e-learning, has driven a transformation of conventional education into a digital format—both in terms of content and system. Currently, PT Orbit Ventura Indonesia implements a Learning Management System (LMS) to access learning materials, complete, and submit assignments. However, for the Independent Study Program in Cloud Computing, participants also rely on WhatsApp, where mentors deliver learning videos. This leads to an ineffective learning process, as the instructional videos are shared separately through WhatsApp rather than integrated into a unified system. The objective of this study is to develop a simple yet user-friendly video-based Learning Management System. The system is designed as a web-based platform using the CodeIgniter framework, PHP programming language, and MySQL database, with the system development process following the Agile Development Method. As a result, a web-based e-learning platform called Sistem Informasi Ruang Orbit (SIRUBIT) was successfully designed and implemented. This platform is expected to provide both mentors and participants with a more flexible and accessible learning experience—anytime and anywhere.

Abstract

Websites have become an essential medium for information dissemination and marketing, particularly in the context of higher education. Universitas Lancang Kuning has implemented an Academic Information System (Smart Unilak) to improve the efficiency of academic services. However, observations and interviews with the PDDIKTI administrator revealed several issues, including a lack of updated information, difficulties in completing the Study Plan Card (KRS), and concerns regarding data security. To evaluate the system's quality, an analysis was conducted using the WebQual 4.0 and McCall methods. The WebQual analysis showed that the average respondent scores ranged from 3 to 4, which were interpreted as “Satisfactory” to “Very Satisfactory.” Additionally, the McCall method yielded an overall quality score of 89.28%, placing the system in the “Excellent” category. While respondents expressed satisfaction with the information and security provided by the system, there remains room for improvement in terms of communication ease. The findings of this study serve as an evaluation reference for website developers and a basis for future research. It is recommended that subsequent studies incorporate direct usability testing with users to identify issues that may not surface through surveys and questionnaires. Observing users as they interact with the system can provide valuable insights for further enhancement.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to provide an innovative solution to enhance communication between students and university administration by designing a student complaint management system. In this context, the system is designed to facilitate efficient and effective handling of student complaints. Through a web-based application, students can easily submit complaints anytime and anywhere using an internet-connected device. The key features of the developed system include online complaint submission, real-time notifications, complaint status tracking, and a complaint management system that enables university administrators to respond to and resolve issues more promptly. The success indicators of this system include a fast response time—where complaints can be processed quickly—and a high level of user satisfaction regarding the efficiency and ease of use of the system. In this study, we adopted the Waterfall development methodology due to its structured and systematic approach, which facilitates planning and testing at each stage of development. This method allows developers to focus on one phase at a time, reducing the risk of errors during implementation. Furthermore, the Laravel framework was chosen for its ease of management, Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture—which separates application logic from the user interface—and robust security features to protect user data and system integrity. The results of this study demonstrate that a student complaint system can be successfully designed and implemented, offering an effective solution for complaint management in educational settings. With this system, communication between students and university staff is expected to improve, and issues can be resolved more efficiently.
