Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to understand the Braille recognition method used by teachers. The method used by the author in this study is Literature Review. With the stages of identifying, reviewing, and interpreting research. Literature review articles use publications from 2020- 2024 which can be accessed via Google Scholar, then a literature review is conducted to find related research. Blind people are individuals with visual impairments that cause obstacles in their visual function. There are two groups of blind people, namely total blindness and low vision. Braille is a tactile writing and reading system that is important for the blind. To teach Braille, there are several commonly used recognition methods, namely the scramble method, the flashcard method, the left code method, the fernald method, and the SAS (structural analytic synthetic) method. Each method has advantages and can have a positive impact on learning. Good teaching skills are needed to help the blind develop their Braille reading skills. The conclusion of the presentation is that all Braille recognition methods have a significant influence and a personal approach is needed in teaching to ensure effective understanding and learning for each blind individual

Abstract

Abstract: Musical art is a bridge for visually impaired people to show themselves and appreciate their own abilities. This research aims to describe the formation of self-esteem in people with visual and sensory disabilities through the art of musical music. The method used is qualitative, using a phenomenological approach. The results of this study indicate that the values contained in karawitan, namely the values of togetherness (cooperation), leadership, responsibility, leadership, love of culture, discipline, and religion, have an impact on four aspects of self-esteem: power, significance, benevolence, and expertise. The self-esteem possessed by beneficiaries through the art of karawitan music is known to be positive, as shown by the karawitan values they have that can form all four aspects.

Abstract

This research aims to describe data and information in detail and in depth regarding reading comprehension learning for slow learners at SDN Rambutan 01, East Jakarta. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method through observation, interviews and documentation, using validity techniques, research persistence and triangulation techniques. The steps to analyze the data using the Milles and Hubberman model through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification of the data and research findings. The results show that the design of reading comprehension learning tries to be adapted to the profile of slow learners, consisting of structuring the planning, process and evaluation stages of reading comprehension learning by educators for slow learners, as well as overcoming learning obstacles, so that learning is more responsive and helps overcoming learning obstacles, practicing academic skills that are lagging behind, increasing personal development, and increasing the learning achievement of slow learners. The explanation of the learning components observed is 1) Planning includes: relaxation of the 2013 curriculum, assessment, objectives, syllabus, lesson plans/ IEP, materials, media, learning resources and learning environment, 2) Process includes coordination between approaches and models, learning strategies, methods and instructions, 3) Evaluation includes aspects of objectives, types, techniques/methods, adaptation, results/implementation, and follow-up. Obtained research conclusions show that SDN Rambutan 01 already has a school policy in managing, compiling, and implementing reading comprehension lessons for slow learners quite well, with notes and continuous efforts to improve the quality of future learning.

Abstract

Mathematics is a discipline that studies logic, making it challenging to teach abstract and conceptual topics to students with intellectual disabilities. This study aims to systematically review educational research related to mathematics learning media for students with intellectual disabilities using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) methodology. The research employed the PRISMA method using Covidence software. Initially, 200 articles indexed in Google Scholar were obtained through Publish or Perish using keywords such as "learning media," "mathematics learning," and "intellectual disabilities." After processing through Covidence, 38 articles meeting the researchers' criteria were selected. The analysis revealed that most articles were published in 2023, with a majority conducted in East Java. The article titled "Educational Counting Games for Elementary School Children Using Mobile-Based RPG Maker" was the most cited, with 265 citations. The most commonly used research method was Classroom Action Research (CAR). Additionally, the most frequently used learning media were teaching aids, mentioned in 12 articles.
