Abstract

The intellectual mild on mild intelectual disability students causes students to become less in their environmental and academic response. Mild intelectual disability students have difficulty in remembering a name or form. This study aims to determine the value in the students can before and after using the media geoboard and know-how big influence of geoboard media to understanding the geometric concept. This research method used Pre-experimental One Group Pretest-posttest. The subjects of this study were students of mild intelectual disability in SLB PGRI Dlanggu Mojokerto, which amounted to 5 students. Data were collected by using written test method before treatment and after treatment with the same problem. There is a comparative value of pretest average and posttest average of 54%. So the conclusion of this research "There is a significant influence of geoboard media on the understanding of the geometric concept of students with mild intelectual disability SLB PGRI Dlanggu Mojokerto". Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the influence of the TEACCH method towards the eating skills of a grade III Student with autism. The research used the experimental method with Single Subject Research (SSR) with the A-B-A design models. The subject in this study was a 12 year old who had barriers in communication, interaction, behavior and regulate emotions. The instruments used in the form of observational checklist compiled based on task analysis in the form of an assessment rubric. The result of study was the effect TEACCH method of influence on the ability of the eating skills of student with autism at grade III..

Abstract

Autistic children tend to experience digestive disorders. Therefore, autistic children must take diet therapy. This research used qualitative method. The results showed that (1) Implementation of diet therapy: preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation. (2) Obstacles in the implementation of diet therapy: autistic students themselves, parents, and the difficulty of getting certain food. (3) Impact of diet therapy: students are more silent and can sit quietly during the implementation of ABA therapy. The implementation of diet therapy for autistic students will have a good impact if applied correctly. Suggestions in this research, do not let a diet leak even if only once.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of traditional Congklak games on students with emotional and behavioral disorder social interactions in SLB E Bhina Putera. The study used a Single Subject Research (SSR) design. The person as a research subject is AS class III students. Based on the observation, AS shows some examples of its communication with the classmates that is sunken, rarely talk with friends, ignore the teacher's orders, always seen alone on rest hour. The results shows an increase in social interaction through the traditional game of Congklak. With all that set, it can be concluded that the use of Congklak traditional games can have a positive effect on the social interaction of students with emotional and behavioral disorder in SLB E Bhina Putera Surakarta.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the characteristics of autistic children who are very complex. Autistic children have two main characteristics, namely obstacles in social communication and behavior (DSM V). Inside this is in accordance with the ability of children with autism which then becomes an advantage to be given in visual form (sensory process). Visual ability is a major factor in making the beginning of Augmented Reality-based reading learning media design for autistic children. This type of research is R&D research development. The research step adopts the Thiagrajan 4D theory (Determine, Design, Development and Dissemination) with implementation up to the development step. The object of this research is the early class autism class at the Inclusion school, namely UPT Lemah Putro 1 SD and Muhammadiyah 2 Tulangan Elementary School. Trials on respondents were conducted on specialists in the field of special needs, class and accompanying teachers. Based on the results of the validation and the results of the questionnaire respondents stated that the media for learning to read in the beginning based on augmented reality for autistic children can be applied with the approval of the average validity of 4.71 and the average results of trials on respondents 99.46%.

Abstract

Problems with the negative behaviours of special needs students cause special education teachers to experience stress in the classroom. The purpose of this study was to explore the perceptions of special education teachers on the use of ClassDojo application to reduce negative behaviours among students with special needs in learning. This study is based on the Behaviourist theory whereby the relationship between stimulus and response influences the individual learning process. This is a qualitative study that used structured interviews to obtain data from respondents. Interview questions were adapted and modified from Burger's (2015) study. This research question was reviewed and validated by 2 expert lecturers and 2 expert teachers. A total of 2 teachers, and 5 special needs children in Kluang district, Johor were selected as the study sample by means of sampling technique. The findings show that there is a significant change in learning behaviour during the ClassDojo application. The special education teachers feel that the ClassDojo application is very helpful in controlling the classroom while reducing the negative behaviours of the pupils during teaching and learning. Special education teachers also feel that the ClassDojo application creates collaboration and  a positive relationships between teachers and parents to address learning behaviour issues. This study is a reference to future researchers in exploring other gamification applications for learning with special needs children.

Abstract

Reading Difficulties in one of challenging which faced by student in elementary school in Indonesia. This research purpose to find variety of challenging by student in early reading. 31 students with early reading problems who comes from 7 elementary school is use as respondent. Data collection is use by informal early reading test which validation with expert in special education needs and Bahasa Indonesia. Finding of this research is almost students with reading problems can read the letters, both vowel and consonant. They have problems in blending between letters become syllable and word.
