Abstract

The number of rice production produced by Kolaka Regency is included in the five largest in Southeast Sulawesi Province. It is interesting to study whether this fact has a real impact on farmers as the first marketing agency. Polenga Village was chosen as the research location because this village is one of the largest rice-producing villages in Kolaka Regency. Writing this article aims to 1) identify rice marketing patterns in Polenga Village, 2) analyze the amount of marketing margin in Polenga Village, and 3) analyze the functions of marketing institutions carried out by each rice marketing agency in Polenga Village. This type of research is descriptive, qualitative and quantitative. Sources of data in this study, namely primary data obtained from respondents and secondary data obtained from agencies related to the research. The analysis carried out is the analysis of marketing margins and analysis of the functions of marketing institutions. The results showed that there were three main patterns of rice marketing in Polenga Village, namely: (I) from farmers directly to consumers, (II) from farmers to collectors and then to consumers, and (III) from farmers to collectors to retailers and ends up in the consumer. The second finding is that the highest marketing margin value is in Marketing Channel III, which is IDR 1.000 per kilogram. Meanwhile, in the second marketing channel, only IDR 500 per kilogram and the marketing channel I no marketing margin was found. Based on the analysis of the functions of marketing institutions, each institution has performed three main functions of marketing institutions, namely the physical function, the exchange function, and the facility function. The conclusion that can be drawn is that the most efficient marketing channel is Marketing Channel I where no marketing marjin is found and direct sales occur to consumers.

Abstract

Public awareness of the importance of healthy living and increasing environmental sustainability has also encouraged some people to consume organic food, one of which is organic black rice. Gapoktan Wangunsari is one of the producers of organic black rice. The price of organic black rice produced by Gapoktan Wangunsari is relatively cheap. The organic black rice has four organic certifications, pesticide-free food and chemical fertilizer certification. It should be able to attract consumers' interest, but in fact, only a few consumers are interested in. Perceptions of good service quality will have an impact on loyalty and repeat purchases by consumers. In addition, the quality of service is difficult to imitate by other manufacturers. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics of consumers and to analyze consumer perceptions of service quality in the process of purchasing organic black rice produced by Gapoktan Wangunsari. The research design uses a quantitative design with survey techniques. The results showed that the majority of consumers live in rural areas, are female, aged 56 years, have secondary education, work as farmers and belong to the lower middle income class, namely < IDR 2,600,000 per month. Consumer perceptions of service quality in the process of purchasing organic black rice are very good. Wangunsari Gapoktan should do promotions and sales online so that the number of consumers increases.

Abstract

Indonesian coffee production is not the largest production in Indonesia, but in  In 2020 the value of coffee exports in Indonesia occupies the 9th largest position in the world. This matter  illustrates the high economic potential of coffee production. The purpose of this study  is to analyze the best Indonesian coffee production forecasting model and  get the forecasting value of Indonesian coffee production for the next 60 years. This research  using secondary data derived from FAOstat 2022. Data used  is data on Indonesian coffee production starting from production in 1961 to production  2020. Using this data, forecasts are carried out for 60 periods, namely:  period 61-120. The analysis used is one of trend analysis (linear, quadratic).  and exponential) which has the smallest MAPE, MAD and MSD. The quadratic trend model has  MAPE is 10, MAD value is 32183, and MSD value is 1807665950 which is smaller than  other models. Therefore, it can be concluded that the quadratic linear function model  is the best model. With quadratic trend analysis, it is known that Indonesian coffee production  over the next 60 periods tends to increase. Highest production  predicted in period 120 and the smallest in period 61. The quadratic trend model is  the best model for forecasting Indonesian coffee production because it has MAPE, MAD and MSD  smallest and forecasting coffee production for the next 60 periods has a value that is  tends to increase every period.

Abstract

This paper, departing from the results of preliminary research conducted since the end of 2020, using a political-ecological perspective will explain the dynamics of farmers to control land in areas that are included in the 'forest area' in Kawa-san Mount Kaledong ( West Java) and the dynamics of changing land use in the area – from tension to 'cooperation'. In addition, this paper will also explain the forms or patterns of farming/production systems that take place due to the development of the value of coffee commodities. The first proposition departs from the argument that the dynamics of access to tenure and land cultivation have consequences on production relations and social organization of production (planting system) where the choice of commodity is a determining factor in these dynamics. The second proposition is that coffee has a high economic value, although it opens up opportunities for farmers to cultivate a number of lands within the 'forest area', leaving farmers involved in farming without the freedom to manage all factors of production. So it can be said that they are not in a position as “independent farmers”, but only as small commodity producers, while the largest economic control lies with non-farmer actors.

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic that hit Bandung City impacted increasing poverty rates and unemployment rates due to negative economic growth. The decline in purchasing power impacts declining people's access to food. For low-income communities, decreasing access to food means reducing the quantity and quality of food consumed. This paper discusses the food security of urban communities affected by the crisis due to the Covid-19 pandemic. By using the system thinking approach, exploration is held by analyzing events, behavior patterns, and system structures. The results of this study indicate that the macroeconomic system plays a significant role in the food security of urban communities. There are several mutually reinforcing feedback loops between macroeconomics and food security: purchasing power, food access and food consumption. As the vulnerable group most affected by the pandemic, the fulfillment of nutrition for low-income groups is still below the recommended nutritional adequacy standard (2,150 kilo calories per capita per day). Another finding of this study is a comprehensive CLD on urban food security systems. The CLD can describe the interdisciplinary roles between actors to fulfill basic human needs: food. In addition, besides macroeconomics and agriculture, food security is also closely related to health, environment, and trade.

The analytical method used is descriptive statistics with diagrams, frequency distribution tables, box plots, and cross tabulations. The results showed a change in student behavior in consuming coffee during the Covid-19 pandemic. There is an increase in the frequency of respondents in the number of sources of information obtained, the number of places to buy coffee products visited, and the frequency in consuming coffee among students. There is a decrease in the frequency of respondents in the types of coffee products consumed, the amount of coffee consumed, and the level of satisfaction with coffee products among students. There is no change in the amount of fees paid by students for coffee products in one week.
