Abstract

The aim of this research was to study development strategy of effort ranch dairy cattle farmer. Basic method used in this research was descriptive. Determination of research area was purposive that was Boyolali Regency with subdistrict Musuk, and than taken one village is Sukorejo. Farmer taken as sample in this research are farmer have adult dairy cattle. The respondents were tahken by simple random sampling resulting 40 dairy cattle farmers. Development strategy of ranch of dairy cattle farmer implementation with improving management by a). improving business scale from farmer by exploiting governmental role, KUD, BRI by exploiting given programs, b) combining the feed so that get standard minimum  cost and obtained quantity  and quality fresh milk, c) doing the pure artificial insemination or embryo transfer from dairy cattle FH.  Key words : Development strategy, animal agriculture, dairy cattle

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui saluran dan sistem pemasaran sapi potong di KecamatanSawangan Kabupaten Magelang. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan Januari-Februari 2014 diKecamatan Sawangan, Kabupaten Magelang, Jawa Tengah. Metode pengambilan data yangdigunakan adalah metode survei dengan jumlah sampel peternak 60 dan sampel pedagang 7responden. Data yang diperoleh meliputi data primer dari wawancara dengan peternak sapi potongdan data sekunder diperoleh dari instansi-instansi yang terkait dalam penelitian. Metode analisis datayang digunakan meliputi analisis deskriptif, analisis pemasaran meliputi biaya pemasaran,keuntungan pemasaran, margin pemasaran, dan farmer’s share. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwaanalisis pemasaran penelitian ini menghasilkan saluran pemasaran yang paling banyak digunakanoleh peternak sapi potong di Kecamatan Sawangan adalah (peternak, pedagang pengumpul,konsumen) sebanyak 53 responden atau 88,4 %. Saluran pemasaran sapi potong di KecamatanSawangan Kabupaten Magelang yang paling efisien yaitu terdapat pada saluran pemasaran pertama(peternak, konsumen) karena mempunyai margin pemasaran paling rendah dan nilai farmer’s sharepaling tinggi.

Abstract

This research was aims to determine the effect of formaldehyde using as a protective material in the soy groats and lemuru fish oil mixtured to escape of the protein and poly unsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) by in vitro. The rumen fluid was derived from donor of the Ongole crosbred fistulated as much as 3 heads. The experimental design used completely randomized design factorial 2x3 pattern consists of two factors:the first factor (soybean groats:lemuru fish oil in the ratio 2:1 and 4:1) and the second factor (the use of formaldehyde at levels of 0%, 2% and 4% base on the dry matter) and was repeated 5 times. The parameters are consist of the nutrient content, the substrates soybean groats and lemuru fish oil the rumen fluid fermented PUFA content by in vitro. Results of the study are levels of protein, fatty acids  oleic, linoleic and arachidonic much available on soybean groats:lemuru fish oil protected formaldehyde at levels of 2% and 4%. The difference between the ratio of soybean groats with lemuru fish oil had no significant (P≥0,05) but significantly different at different levels of formaldehyde (P≤0,05). The conclusion are formaldehyde content of 37% with a level of 2% can be used for protection the soybean groats and lemuru fish oil with a ratio of 4:1 and is able to provide protein as well PUFA. Keywords: soy groats, lemuru fish oil, in vitro, PUFA, formaldehyde protection

Abstract

The research was aimed to evaluate used dahlia tubersextract as inulinsource onnitrogen retention and feed conversion of crossbred local chicken (male native chicken × female laying hen). Three weeks old 160 unsex birds with average body weight 180.46±1.21g were kept until 8 weeks. The experimentwas designed ascompletely randomized design with 4 treatments and 4 replications (@10 birds). Treatments applied were T0: basal ration, T1: ration + 0.39% extract, T2: ration + 0.78% extract, T3: ration + 1.17% extract. Parameters observed werenitrogen retention, energy metabolism and feed conversion. The data were statistically analyzed according to ANOVA and continued by Duncan test at the level of 5%. The results showed that feeding dahlia tuberextract significantly affect (P<0.05) nitrogen retentionwith value T0-T3 (1.3g, 1.47g, 1.43g, 1.7g)and feed conversion (4.15, 3.58, 3.75, 3.47), but not significant of energy metabolism. In conclusion, the higher levels of feeding inulin in the form of extract in T3 (1.17%), increase nitrogen retention and improve feed conversionof crossbred local chicken.

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the effect of shrimp waste on the quality of duck eggs. The research used 80 female ducks aged 21 weeks which were randomly distributed into four treatments consisted of four replicates of 5 ducks each. The ration consisted of yellow corn, rice bran, soybean meal, fish meal, premix, grit, vegetable oil and shrimp waste. The dietary treatments were formulated to contain 0 (control), 3, 6, and 9% shrimp waste. The experiment was performed for 3 periods of 28 days. Egg quality was assessed for 3 consecutive days on d 26,27 and 28 of every periods. The data were analysed using Analysis of Variance and continued with Duncan’s test for different results. Theuse of 9% shrimp waste in ration increased (P<0.05) score of yolk colour from 6.94 to 7.79, but did not affect other measured variables. It can be concluded that shrimp waste enhanced yolk colour of duck eggs.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to see the influence of betaine supplementation on some of blood lipid and protein parameters in laying quails. The research used four treatments based on completely randomized design. Each treatment was replicated five times with seventeen quails each.The treatments used 340 quails aged 4 weeks with average weigh 98.31±8.67 grams. The supplementation levels of betaine were 0 (control); 0.07; 0.14 and 0.21%. Twenty quails aged 14 weeks were taken from each replicate to determine blood lipid and protein. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and if there was an effect of treatment, then it was analyzed by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test. The result showed that betaine supplementation at level 0.14% resulted higher level of low density lipoprotein compared with the other treatments. It could be concluded that betaine supplementation at 0.14% resulted higher concentration of low density lipoprotein than control.Key words: quail, betaine, blood lipid, blood protein

Abstract

This study was conducted to assess the reproductive performance and achievements of AI in goat reared in lowland and highland areas. The study used a survey method in two rural areas with the highest goat population. For lowland areas selected Karangwuni village while highland areas was Sidomulyo village. The results showed that for the lowland areas vs. the highland for reproductive performance were as follows: age of first estrus (10 vs 9.3 bl), age of first mating (13.2 vs 12.5 bl),mating system 100% natural, post partum mating (4.2 vs 4.6 months), S / C (1.5 vs. 1.6). Understanding of farmers about the pregnant female: anestrus post-AI (85.7 vs. 22.2%), stomach down (14.3 vs. 0.00), the condition of the udder (0.00 vs 77.8%). Achievement results of AI (37.5 vs. 40%). Based on the results of the study concluded that the reproductive performance of goat in lowland areas was generally very similar to the highland areas, thus the development of large-scale goats in the lowland areas is recommended.Key words: natural mating, artificial insemination, PE goats, lowland, highland

Abstract

The obyective of this experiment was to study the effect of substitution of soybean meal with local sesame meal on performance and protein effisiency ratio of broiler chicken. One hundred of broiler chickens strain Lohman were allocated in Completely Randomized Design with five replication and four chicken of each. The treatments were  P0 :  100% BK+ 0% BWL ;  P1 :  90% BK+ 10% BWL ;  P2 ; 80% BK+ 20% BWL;   P3  :  70% BK+ 30 BWL and  P4 :  60% BK+ 40% BWL. Variable measured were feed consumption,average daily gain, feed conversion and protein efficiency ratio. Data were analyzed with analysis of variance (ANOVA). The result of this research indicated  that treatments were not significant effect to the all variables. Average feed consumption (g/head/d)  of: (92,76; 90,13; 90,87; 87,10 dan 89,31) ; average daily gain (g/head/d) of : (47,16; 45,99; 47,03; 45,46 dan 45,76);  average of feed conversion of : ( 1,95;  1,97; 1,93;  1,96 dan  1,95) and protein efficiency ratio  of : (2,31;  2,27;  2,25;  2,31; dan 2,28)  for P0,  P1,  P2, P3 and P4, respectively. It was concluded that 40% of soybean meal could  be substituted with local sesame meal in diet of broiler  that reared up to 42 days of age. Key words:   soybean meal, local  sesame meal, performance, efficiency protein, broiler

Abstract

This research aimed to know the management effort beef cattle breeding in the integrate crop - livestock system in  south coastal area Bantul regency of Yogyakarta Special Region. Farm Record keeping conducted livestock farmer group Andini Mukti of Poncosari village, Srandakan countryside,  Bantul regency. A number of 20 farmers grouped by as according to farming system : 1) Beef cattle breeding farming system and 2) Integrate rice crop–livestock system. Management farming and livestock noted and tabulation. Data analysed with the distribution frequency and discription. This results of research indicate that the beef cattle breeding system by ownership 2,36 cows/farmer. Beef cattle looked in group individually cage area. Hay from weste rice crop given ad libitum added consentrate mean 1,5 kg/head. Insemination system conducted with the artificial insemination made in with the S/C 2,39. Labour effusing in livestock management 114,06 work day person/farmer/year.  This result of effort in the calf and organic fertilizer. Effort income beef cattle breeding system equal Rp 3.013.000 (R/C 1,64). Integrate rice crop – livestock  with the pattern plant the paddy - paddy – crops planted. Farm ownership 1000 m2 /farmers and 2 cows which looked in cage group area. Using produce in the form of seed 45,83 kg/ha; fertilize 395,52 kg/ha and family labour 43,06 work day person and external labour 15,03 work day person every season plant. The productivity of unhulled paddy dry harvest 6,88 ton/ha. Income farming system integrate rice crop – livestock  equal to Rp 5.592.310 (R/C 1,82). Key words             : management, breeding, beef cattle, integration

Abstract

             This research was aimed to isolate and characterize  phytase from different sources of higger phosphat complex compounds (compost, cattle rumen, and yeast). Bacteria of phytase was isolated on Luria Bertani (LB) medium and it was incubated on 37 oC for 16 hours. Microbe from yeast was isolated on Pottato Dextrose Agar (PDA) medium. Crude enzyme from supernatant was extracted with centrifuge on 5.000 rpm for 5 minutes. Crude enzyme was characterized for optimum pH, temperature, and influence of matalo ion efector on relative activity of enzyme. B1 isolate from P88 compost had optimum relative activity on pH 5, temperature 50 oC and activator Zn2+ (10-3 and 10-4 M). B2 Isolate from cattle rumen had optimum relative activity on pH 5, temperature 50 oC and activator Zn2+ (10-3 M) and Mg2+ (10-4 M). B3 isolated from soy sauce yeast had optimum relative activity on pH 5, temperature 60 oC, and  activators Mg2+ (10-3 M) and, Fe2+ (10-4 M). B4 isolated from tempeh yeast had optimum relative activity on pH 5, temperature 50 oC and activators Mg2+ (10-3 M) and Ca2+ (10-4 M). Key words: phytase, optimum pH, optimum temperature, metalo ion efector, isolate.
