Abstract

As a messenger of Allah, the personality of the Prophet Muhammad is very worthy to be emulated, which is reflected in his hadiths, both in the form of his words, deeds and decisions. This article aims to explore the meaning contained in the hadiths of the Prophet Muhammad related to humanistic psychology and then contextualize them with character building in Indonesia. Exploration of meaning is carried out using the Hermeneutics of Hassan Hanafi, in which the hadiths are analyzed historically, eidetically, and practically. This study found that based on a study of the hadiths related to the humanistic psychology of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, character building in Indonesia should be implemented by applying several principles and forms that he has exemplified, namely: 1) given gently and based on compassion, 2) carried out with the aim of providing convenience to others, 3) guiding by providing comfort and pleasure to others, 4) exemplifying and implementing noble morals.

Second, the historical context of the prophet's tolerance attitude was recorded in building a pluralist society in the form of forgiveness, good prejudice, recognizing other religions and cooperate with each other. Third, the contextualization of the hadith that the basic concept of Islam in a pluralist society must be based on the principles of living in harmony, peace and prioritizing spirituality and humanity and ignoring group subjectivity. Abstract

The Meaning of Islam in the Qur'an Textualist Perspective: A Study of Textual Orientation in Al-Qur'an InterpretationIn the treasures of exegesis, there are two orientations commonly used by mufassir in interpreting the Qur'an. First, textual orientation. Second, contextual orientation. This article aims to critically examine textual orientation in the interpretation of the Qur'an, which often only looks at the text alone, without looking at the aspects of the context surrounding the birth of the text. The focus of the study in this research is about the meaning of Islam in the Qur'an from the perspective of the textualist group. This research is library research using qualitative methods. The approach used in this research is analytical descriptive. The results of this study indicate that the textual interpretation carried out by textualist groups about the meaning of Islam emphasizes that Islam is a system of beliefs, creeds (read: religion) which are institutionalized with a set of binding doctrines. This view in turn assumes that the religion they understand is superior to others, and followers of other ways of life are considered infidels, hypocrites or wicked. Therefore, a critical review of the textual orientation in the interpretation of the Qur'an is something that is necessary.

Abstract

Orientalists and Sirah Nabawiyyah Studies: An Examination of Clinton Bennett's ThoughtsSirah Nabawiyah is a study that has been mostly carried out by Eastern scholars (insiders) and Western scholars (outsiders). For Muslims, the life history of the Prophet is a source of aspiration and adaptation for practical purposes in social life. Meanwhile for non-Muslims, studying sirah nabawiyah is a source of curiosity in understanding Islam as a successful religion in the past and present. This study aims to explore the views of the British orientalist, Clinton Bennett, who is concerned with the study of Islamic studies in general, and the study of sirah nabawiyah in particular. The research method used is qualitative descriptive-analytical. The academic problem that arises in the form of a research question is how Clinton Bennett views sirah nabawiyah in his work In Search of Muhammad? The results of this study indicate that Clinton Bennett has been neutral and positive when studying the Prophet's biography, although sometimes he cites negative things. Bennett has discussed the Sirah teaching methodology with its various varieties practiced in the western academic world and mentioned various orientalist views which have a critical and sensitive approach to faith. According to him, scientific criticism must be maintained without sacrificing the sensitivity of faith

Abstract

Religious Moderation Education in Families Based on Al-Qur'anThe purpose of this study is to analyze the theoretical concept of religious moderation education in families based on al-Qur'an. Given that the family context in the policy of strengthening religious moderation by the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Indonesia has not been a priority compared to the social and educational context. In this study, the author uses the method of tafsir maudhu'i, which serves to explore the thematic idea of "religious moderation education in the family" comprehensively in the Qur'an. This paper found that there are four concepts of religious moderation education in the Quran-based family, namely; First, family education with creed vision. Second, family education with a humanitarian vision. Third, family education with a national vision. Fourth, family education with a vision of justice. In addition, it can also be seen that there are eight terms of religious moderation in the Qur'an, namely; First, al-Wasth (الوسط) which means just, best people, and not excessive. Secondly, al-Sadad (السداد) is right on target and means right. Third, al-Qasd (القصد) means having good and right goals, determination, and direction. Fourth, al-Istiqamah (الإستقامة) is consistent. Fifth, al-Khairiyah (الخيرية) is the best people. Sixth, al-Adl (العدل) is the people who always uphold justice. Seventh, al-Yusr (اليسر) is the people who always provide ease and eliminate difficulties. Eighth, al-Hikmah (الحكمة) is a people who always pay attention to all sides of things or problems.

Abstract

This article discusses the concept of the Quranic worldview in the view of Toshihiko Izutsu. This is important to study because the Qur'an is the holy book of Muslims that significantly influences human life. This Japanese scholar also describes how the relationship between God and man uses semantic analysis. He explained that the relationship between God and man has four parts: ontology, god and servant, ethics, and communication. Izutsu also asserts that communicating with God through the Qur'an is not only read and is a theory but also involves practice. This study uses qualitative methods with a type of literature analysis supplemented by analysis of content to analyze the izutsu concept of worldview, distinguished by systematic method, to accomplish this purpose. As a result, according to him, the Qur'anic worldview separates his beliefs into six categories: namely, the ideas of God and man, the Muslim community, the idea of the visible and invisible, the idea of the Day of Judgment, and the idea of eschatological.
