Abstract

The basil plant (Ocimum sanctum L.) contains alkaloids, triterpenoids, flavonoids are able toprovide an antibacterial effect.The aims of this research were to study ointment base effectagainst physical properties and antibacterial effect of basil leaf extract ointment on Rabbits(Oryctolagus cuniculus) back skin infected with staphylococcus aureus.Extraction was doneby soxhlet extraction using ethanol 95% as solvent.Observation of healing time was done byobserving infectionhealingtime on rabbits back skin after anointment treatment, which basedonthe disappearance oferythema and pus. The result shows differences ointment base effectedon the physical properties of an ointment which include shape, color, pH, and dispersivepower, but had no effect on the smell and homogeneity of the preparation. Basil leavesextract ointment with base type hydrocarbons provide healing infections more quickly,followed by the type of water-soluble base, absorption, and washable base.Keywords: Base ointment, basil (Ocimum sanctum L.), Staphylococcus aureus, rabbit

PENGARUH EKSTRAK KASAR YANG MENGANDUNG ENZIM PEROKSIDASE DARI SAWI HIJAU (Brassica juncea) TERHADAP AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN EKSTRAK TONGKOL JAGUNG            (Zea mays L.) Wowor Patricia Walanda1), Edi Suryanto1), Jemmy Abidjulu1) 1)Program Studi Farmasi Fakultas MIPA UNSRAT Manado, 95115 ABSTRACT The objective of this research was to study the effect of peroxidase enzymes in the greens mustard of the antioxidant activity extract corn cobs. Corn cobs extracted using reflux method for 2 hours. Peroxidase enzyme extraction of green mustard made in 4 comparison for further mixing with the corn cobs extract. The best results from the mixing, are added to the (NH4)2SO4. Determination of phytochemical content is done by calculating the total phenolic and flavonoid. Tests using the antioxidants counteract free radical DPPH and hydroxyl radical scavengers TBA at the Wistar rat liver homogenates. The Result snow that the extract corn cob with the addition of a peroxidase enzyme extract green mustard increased total phenolic and flavonoid content. Similarly, the antioxidant activity with DPPH and free radical hydroxyl scavengers Wistar rat liver homogenates, had an increase in free-radical scavengers. Conclusion of the research is the addition of peroxidase enzyme extract contained in greens mustard provide increased content of total phenolics and flavonoids, also increases the antioxidant activity of the corn cob extract. ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mempelajari pengaruh enzim peroksidase dari sawi hijau (Brassica juncea) terhadap aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak tongkol jagung (Zea mays L.). Tongkol jagung diekstraksi menggunakan metode refluks selama 2 jam. Ekstraksi Enzim Peroksidase dari Sawi Hijau dibuat dalam 4 perbandingan untuk selanjutnya di lakukan pencampuran dengan ekstrak tongkol jagung. Hasil terbaik dari pencampuran, ditambahkan dengan (NH4)2SO4. Penentuan kandungan fitokimia dilakukan dengan menghitung total fenolik dan flavonoid. Pengujian antioksidan menggunakan penangkal radikal bebas DPPH dan penangkal radikal hidroksil TBA pada homogenat hati tikus wistar. Ekstrak tongkol dengan penambahan ekstrak enzim peroksidase dari Sawi hijau mengalami peningkatan kandungan total fenolik dan flavonoid. Sama halnya dengan aktivitas penangkal radikal bebas DPPH dengan penangkal radikal hidroksil homogenat hati tikus wistar, memiliki peningkatan penangkal radikal bebas. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa penambahan ekstrak enzim peroksidase yang terkandung dalam sawi hijau memberikan peningkatan kandungan total fenolik dan flavonoid, juga meningkatkan aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak tongkol jagung. Abstract

ABSTRACTCana plants are flower ornamental plants whose genus or margins are the only ones in the family Cannacea. This study aims to determine the activity of antioxidant compounds from ethanol extract of  Canna coccinea  Mill flower. by using the DPPH method. Flowers Canna coccinea  Mill  extracted using maceration with ethanol as a solvent. As a parameter, testing of antioxidant activity was carried out using the DPPH (1,1 ? diphenyl-2-pikrilhidrazil) method which was measured using UV-Vis Spectrophotometry at a wavelength of 517nm. The result showed that ethanol of Canna coccinea Mill,flower proven to have antioxidant activity in each concentration test. The highest concentration has an free radical scavenging activity by reaching of 56,00%.Keywords: Flowers Canna coccinea Mill, Antioxidant, Extraction, DPPH ABSTRAKTanaman kana adalah tanaman hias bunga yang genus atau marganya merupakan satu-satunya dalam family Cannaceae. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas senyawa antioksidan dari ekstrak etanol bunga Canna coccinea Mill. dengan menggunakan metode DPPH. Bunga Canna coccinea Mill. diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi dengan etanol sebagai pelarut. Sebagai parameter, pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan metode DPPH (1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil) yang diukur menggunakan Spektrofotometri UV-Vis pada panjang gelombang 517 nm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan ekstrak etanol bunga Canna coccinea Mill. terbukti memiliki aktivitas antioksidan disetiap konsentrasi pengujian. Konsentrasi tertinggi memiliki aktivitas penangkal radikal bebas dengan mencapai presentase 56,00%.Kata Kunci : Bunga Canna coccinea Mill, Antioksidan, Ekstraksi, DPPH

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to analyze the direct effect of social capital factors and organizational cultureon the performance of medical personnel in hospitals Talaud Islands. The population in thisstudy is the Civil Servants (PNS) in Talaud Islands who served in hospitals Talaud Islands.Sampling technique in this study is proportional sampling with a sample size of 100 people.In the data analysis using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), using AMOS program(Analysis of Moment Structure) 20. Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) is a multivariateanalysis technique that was developed to cover the limitations that are owned by the previousanalytical models that have been widely used in statistical research. Stuctural equation model(SEM) can be seen as a combination of factor analysis, path analysis, and regression. UJI KUALITAS MINYAK GORENG CURAH DAN MINYAK GORENG KEMASAN DI MANADO   Ika Risti Lempang1), Fatimawali 1), Nancy C. Pelealu1) 1)Program Studi Farmasi FMIPA UNSRAT Manado, 95115 ABSTRACT Cooking oil is one of the basic needs of community to meet the day-by-day needs. These daily consume cooking oil was closely related to the health of our bodies. It is important for us to know the quality of cooking oil which we use everyday. This study aimed to test the quality analysis of bulk and packaged cooking oil in accordance with the ISO quality requirements. Cooking oil quality analysis test was performing using the test parameters of water content, free fatty acid value, acid value, and peroxide. The results of the research of bulk cooking oil materials meets the requirements of ISO such as 100% of the water content, 50% of free fatty acids, 100% of acid value, and is not eligible to peroxide numbers. The packaging cooking oil meets the requirements of ISO 50% of the water content, acid value of 100%, 50% peroxide, and did not qualify against free fatty acid value. Keyword: Cooking oil, Analysis, Water content, total free fatty acids, acid number, peroxide Numbers   ABSTRAK Minyak goreng adalah salah satu kebutuhan pokok masyarakat dalam memenuhi kebutuhan sehari – hari. Minyak goreng yang kita konsumsi sehari – hari sangat erat kaitannya dengan kesehatan tubuh kita. Penting bagi kita untuk mengetahui kualitas dari minyak goreng yang kita gunakan sehari – hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan uji analisis kualitas minyak goreng curah dan kemasan sesuai dengan persyaratan mutu SNI. Uji analisis kualitas minyak goreng menggunakan uji parameter kadar air, bilangan asam lemak bebas, bilangan asam, dan bilangan peroksida. Hasil penelitian bahan minyak goreng curah memenuhi persyaratan SNI 100% terhadap kadar air, asam lemak bebas 50%, bilangan asam 100%, dan tidak memenuhi syarat terhadap bilangan peroksida. Minyak goreng kemasan memenuhi persyaratan SNI 50% terhadap kadar air, bilangan asam 100%, bilangan peroksida 50%, dan tidak memenuhi syarat terhadap bilangan asam lemak bebas.   Kata kunci : Minyak goreng, Analisis, Kadar air, Bilangan Asam Lemak Bebas, Bilangan Asam, Bilangan Peroksida

Abstract

ABSTRACT Areca nut (Areca vestiaria Giseke), which is a kind of wild palm, is a multi-functional plant. The North Sulawesi people empirically use this plant to cure various diseases. This study aims to determine the phytochemical content and antibacterial activity of ethanol extracts of areca nut against the inhibitory growth of Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa using 5 concentrations namely 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% and 5%. Extraction was done by maceration using 96% of ethanol. Antibacterial activity testing was using paper disc diffusion method (Kirby and Bauer diffusion). The results of this study indicate that the ethanol extracts of areca nut stem contains flavonoids, saponins, triterpenoids that have the potential to be antibacterial and has antibacterial strength against Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, at concentrations of 4% and 5%, which are concentrations which are included in the group that categorize as strong to inhibit the bacteria E. coli and P. aeruginosa, while the extract concentration of 2%, 3%, 4%, and 5% which are included in the group that categorize as strong to inhibit the S. aureus bacteria. Keywords: Agar diffusion method, Antibacterial, Areca nut, Phytochemical. ABSTRAK Pinang Yaki (Areca vestiaria Giseke) yang merupakan sejenis palem liar, merupakan tanaman yang multi fungsi. Masyarakat Sulawesi Utara secara empiris menggunakan tanaman ini untuk menyembuhkan berbagai macam penyakit.. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan fitokimia dan aktivitas antibakteri dari ekstrak etanol tangkai buah pinang yaki terhadap daya hambat pertumbuhan bakteri Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa menggunakan 5 konsentrasi yakni 1%, 2%, 3%, 4%, dan 5%. Ekstraksi dilakukan dengan cara maserasi menggunakan etanol 96%. Pengujian aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan metode difusi dengan cakram kertas (difusi Kirby dan Bauer). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol tangkai buah Pinang Yaki memiliki kandungan flavonoid, saponin, triterpenoid yang berpotensi sebagai antibakteri dan memiliki kekuatan antibakteri terhadap Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, dan Pseudomonas aeruginosa, pada konsentrasi 4% dan 5% merupakan konsentrasi yang termasuk dalam golongan kuat untuk menghambat bakteri E. coli dan P. aeruginosa, sedangkan pada konsentrasi ekstrak 2%, 3%, 4%, dan 5% termasuk dalam golongan kuat menghambat bakteri S. aureus. Kata kunci: Pinang Yaki, Fitokimia, Antibakteri,metode difusi agar

PENGARUH EKSTRAK KASAR ENZIM PEROKSIDASE DARI KUBIS (Brassica oleraceae L.) TERHADAP AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN EKSTRAK TONGKOL JAGUNG (Zea mays L.) Crispa J. Lintjewas1), Edi Suryanto2), Jemmy Abidjulu2) 1)Program Studi Farmasi, FMIPA UNSRAT Manado 2)Jurusan Kimia, FMIPA UNSRAT Manado ABSTRACT This study was conducted to determine the effect of crude extract containing the enzyme peroxidase from cabbage to the antioxidant activity of the extract of corn cobs. Extraction of corn cobs performed using ethanol 80% with reflux for 2 hours while extracting the enzyme from cabbage with solvent phosphate buffer pH 7. Then the content of secondary metabolites tested before and after the addition of crude extract enzyme peroxidase. Whereas to determine the antioxidant activity was tested by the ability of free-radical scavengers DPPH and hydroxyl radical scavengers Then the total antioxidant extracts was measured with a spectrophotometer. Results of the analysis of the highest content of total phenolic fraction obtained from the enzyme at 124.39 mg / kg, followed by P4 81.53; P1 75.41;  P3 67.24 and P2 50.92 mg / kg. Results of the analysis of antioxidant activity was also obtained from the enzyme fraction. The ability of hydroxyl radicals in the highest rat tissue homogenates were also obtained from the enzyme fraction of 90.1%. Results of this study concluded that the addition of crude extract containing the enzyme peroxidase from cabbage provides enhanced phenolic and flavonoid content also increases the antioxidant activity of the extract of corn cobs.     Keyword: Corn cob, cabbage, peroxidase anzyme, antioxidant. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan ekstrak kasar yang mengandung enzim  peroksidase dari kubis terhadap aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak tongkol jagung. Ekstraksi tongkol jagung dilakukan menggunakan pelarut etanol 80% dengan metode refluks selama 2 jam sedangkan ekstraksi enzim dari kubis dengan pelarut buffer fosfat pH 7. Kemudian dilakukan pengujian kandungan metabolit sekunder sebelum dan setelah penambahan ekstrak kasar enzim peroksidase. Sedangkan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan diuji berdasarkan kemampuan penangkal radikal bebas DPPH dan penangkal radikal hidroksil Kemudian total antioksidan ekstrak diukur dengan spektrofotometer. Hasil analisis kandungan total fenolik tertinggi diperoleh dari fraksi enzim sebesar 124,39 mg/kg, diikuti oleh P4 81,53; P1 75,41; P3  67,24 dan P2 50,92 mg/kg. Hasil analisis aktivitas antioksidan  juga diperoleh dari fraksi enzim. Kemampuan menangkal radikal hidroksil dalam homogenat jaringan tikus tertinggi juga diperoleh dari fraksi enzim sebesar 90,1%. Abstract

Cosmetic whitening is a cosmetic that contains the active ingredient intended to bleach and brightenthe skin or whiten the skin. Hydroquinone is used in bleaching creams but is prohibited because it cancause skin irritation, skin redness and burning, and can also cause abnormalities in the kidneys, bloodcell cancer, and liver cancer. The purpose of this study is to prove the presence or absencehydroquinone content in various brands of whitening creams circulating in the city of Manado. Bleachcream samples studied were sample A, sample B, sample C, and sample D. The content ofhydroquinone was observed using the method of thin layer chromatography and UVspectrophotometer. The results showed that the four samples, namely Kelly, Quina, Fair Check, andOriens, the hydroquinone was not identified, either using thin layer chromatography or UVspectrophotometer. Wuntu1) 1)Fakultas Kesehatan Masyarakat Universitas Sam Ratulangi Manado E-mail : regiosang14@gmail.com ABSTRACT The society growth which is growing year to year needs more and more food necessity, so the government increases the cultivation technique which covers irrigation, fertilization, and plant disease control are activated continuously, more farmers use pesticide to control plant disease to keep the plat from disease,  pesticide which is often used are Isuch as curacron, based on the data taken from East Passi Public Health Center during January 2015- April 2015 there is complaint from the society who come to get the medication with some health disorder such as headache, muscle pain, another general symptoms and indications including queasy, vomit, whirling, which is suspected has correlations with pesticide poisoning. This study aims to determine the correlation between the working period and cardinal direction with blood cholinesterase level on rice farmer who use pesticide in Middle Pangian village, East Passi district, Bolaang Mangondow Regency. This is an analytic survey with cross sectional study design. The number of sample is 35 people which regularly use pesticide during the last 2 months, the working period and cardinal direction is obtained by using questionnaires through interviews. The cholinesterase level is measured by using tintometer kit, it’s tested by spearman rank correlation test with CI 95 % and α= 0.05. The study shows that the cholinesterase level has a significant correlation with the working period (p=0.000), and has significant correlation with cardinal direction (p=0.04). It’s suggested to the farmer who had contacted with the pesticide should take a rest and start to do spraying at least in 2 weeks. It needs to be studied continuously in a large number of samples. Keywords: Cholinesterase level, working period, cardinal direction, rice farmer   ABSTRAK Pertumbuhan penduduk yang terus meningkat dari tahun ke tahun membutuhkan kebutuhan pangan yang semakin besar, sehingga pemerintah meningkatkan teknik budidaya yang meliputi pengairan, pemupukan, dan pengendalian hama penyakit terus diaktifkan, petani banyak menggunakan pestisida untuk mengendalikan hama penyakit, di Desa Pangian Tengah petani menggunakan pestisida untuk menjaga tanaman dari serangan hama penyakit, pestisida yang sering digunakan adalah golongan organofosfat seperti curacron, berdasarkan data yang diambil di Puskesmas Passi Timur sepanjang bulan Januari 2015 – April 2015 terdapat keluhan masyarakat yang datang berobat dengan gangguan kesehatan seperti sakit kepala, nyeri otot, gejala dan tanda umum lainnya termasuk mual, muntah, pusing, yang diduga ada hubungannya dengan keracunan pestisida. Penelitian ini ada lah untuk mengetahui Hubungan antara Masa kerja dan Arah Angin Dengan Kadar Kolinesterase Darah Pada Petani Padi Pengguna Pestisida di Desa Pangian Tengah, Kecamatan Passi Timur, Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow. Penelitian ini merupakan survei analitik dengan disain cross sectional. Jumlah sampel sebanyak 35 orang yang rutin menyemprot pestisida selama 2 bulan terakhir, masa kerja dan arah angin diperoleh menggunakan kuesioner melalui wawancara, kadar kolinesterase diukur menggunakan alat tintometer kit, dengan diuji menggunakan uji korelasi spearman rank dengan CI 95% dan α = 0,05. Penelitian menunjukan bahwa kadar kolineterase berhubungan signifikan dengan masa kerja (p=0,000), dan berhubungan signifikan dengan arah angin (p=0,004). Saran diberikan adalah sebaiknya petani padi yang sudah terpapar pestisida harus melakukan tindakan istirahat dan tidak melakukan tindakan penyemprotan dalam jangka waktu sekurang-kurangnya 2 minggu. perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut pada sampel yang lebih besar. To overcome the problems related to hospital pharmacy logistics supplies, it is necessary to manage the pharmaceutical logistics carefully and responsibly by planning before conducting the procurement stage. This study aims to classify antibiotic drugs in the planning and procurement based on the ABC Critical Index at the Pharmaceutical Installation of RSU Monompia Kotamobagu. This research is descriptive research with prospective retrospective data retrieval base on document of antibiotic drugs usage from January – December 2017 and interview and filling out questionnaires to know the level of criticality of drugs in Pharmacy Installation of Monompia General Hospital Kotamobagu. The results showed that grouping of antibiotic drugs base on critical index ABC analysis, got group A with NIK 9,5 – 12, there were 9 items of antibiotic drugs or as much as 23 %. Group B with NIK 6,5 – 9,4 contained 16 items of antibiotic drugs or as much as 46 %. Group C with NIK 4 – 6,4 consists of 11 antibiotic drug items or 31 %. Keywords: Planning, Procurement, Antibiotics, ABC Critical Index.ABSTRAK Pelayanan kefarmasian merupakan suatu pelayanan penunjang dan sekaligus revenue center utama di dalam rumah sakit, oleh karena itu jika terjadi masalah pada persediaan perbekalan farmasi karena tidak dikelola secara cermat dan penuh tanggung jawab maka akan terjadi penurunan dalam hal pendapatan rumah sakit. Untuk mengatasi permasalahan yang menyangkut perbekalan logistik farmasi rumah sakit, maka dibutuhkan pengelolaan logistik farmasi yang cermat dan bertanggung jawab dengan melakukan perencanaan sebelum melakukan tahap pangadaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengelompokkan obat antibiotik dalam perencanaan dan pengadaan berdasarkan ABC Indeks Kritis di Instalasi Farmasi RSU Monompia Kotamobagu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pengambilan data secara prospektif dan retrospektif yang didasarkan pada dokumen penggunaan obat Antibiotik dari bulan Januari – Desember tahun 2017 serta wawancara dan pengisian kuesioner untuk mengetahui tingkat kekritisan obat di Instalasi Farmasi RSU Monompia Kotamobagu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pengelompokkan obat Antibiotik berdasarkan analisis ABC indeks kritis, didapatkan kelompok A dengan NIK 9,5 - 12, terdapat 9 item obat antibiotik atau sebanyak 23 %. Kelompok B dengan NIK 6,5 – 9,4 terdapat 16 item obat antibiotik atau sebanyak 46 %.
