Abstract

The Sharia capital market in Indonesia has experienced significant growth in the number of transactions. However, the share prices of companies listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index tends to decline. Therefore, the purposes of the research were to examine the factors influencing the share prices of 30 firms listed on the Jakarta Islamic Index from 2018 to 2022. These factors include leverage, profitability, and firm value. This research also explores the role of inflation as a moderating variable on the influence of leverage, profitability, and firm value. Multiple regression analysis using random-effect model is employed to analyze the effect of leverage, profitability, and firm value on share price and the role of inflation as a moderator. The analysis results show that firm value has a significant positive effect on share price. Meanwhile, leverage and profitability do not have a significant effect. Inflation can only moderate the influence of firm value on the share price. This research contributes to determining company policies regarding improving financial performance and as a reference for the government in determining macroeconomic policies.

Abstract

This scarcity issue is still a hot topic every year. In conventional economics, scarcity is defined as a lack of natural resources that can be used and utilized by a society, which ultimately leads to a riot and insatisfaction with the needs of a society. Deficiency is seen as a problem that has yet to be solved in its economic activities. They divide the type of deficiency into two types: absolute deficiency and relative deficiency. While Islamic economics does not recognize the type of deficiency that is absolute. In Islam, the absolute is the abundance of resources, but what is to be limited is the human desire. Islam only knows the relative deficiency caused by the desires of humans that exceed the use of the existing resources. In this study, the author will criticize the concept of scarcity in conventional economics using critical analysis from the perspective of Islamic economics. This research uses the method of library research, which collects data from quoting and analyzes it against various pieces of literature that have relevance to the issues discussed, then reviews and concludes. The results of this study show a very fundamental difference between the concept of scarcity in conventional economics and the Islamic concept. The Islamic economy does not recognize the kind of deficiency that is absolute in nature. In Islam, the absolute is the abundance of resources, but what is to be limited is the human desire. Islam only knows the relative deficiency caused by the desires of humans that exceed the use of the existing resources. In the Islamic perspective, the human condition should not be lack or poverty, but well-being and abundance. Being abundant means that the real condition is sufficient to satisfy all the needs of man; this is the natural condition of the world and not something to be anticipated or expected.

Abstract

The objective of the study is determining the readiness of business actors, in this case, micro, and small business actors in West Nusa Tenggara (Nusa Tenggara Barat – NTB). The challenge faced by the consumers is the limited products that have been certified halal. There are still many services or products that are a necessity for most consumers which are not yet halal-certified. This is what makes consumers immaterially disadvantaged, namely: consumers do not get their rights to obtain halal services or products. Therefore, the government and stakeholders need to provide guidance to business actors and consumers. On the other hand, a small number of MSME business actors still consider halal certification to be a hassle, so they are reluctant to be certified as halal. Another factor that hinders the implementation of halal product guarantees is that information about products from business actors is still not disclosed. The research is conducted with descriptive qualitative method. The research informants are micro and macro entrepreneurs in NTB. The data collection techniques use questionnaires or questionnaires, interviews, and documentation to get more in-depth results and avoid bias. The data analysis uses the Miles and Huberman model which consists of four activities of data collection, data reduction, data display, and conclusion/verification. The results obtained from the implementation of halal certification are not optimal. There are still many MSME actors who are not aware of the importance of halal certification in the processed food products they produce.

Abstract

The global expansion of Islamic economics has been steadily growing. Several causes are contributing to this phenomenon, with the use of social media being a significant driver in promoting literacy. The Islamic Economics Society Association, often known as MES, has successfully expanded its network throughout Indonesia and internationally to promote Islamic economics and finance. This study seeks to investigate the capacity of social media used by MES in disseminating Islamic financial knowledge. This study will utilize qualitative analysis using a literature-based approach. The data will be collected by conducting a thorough examination of the potential and influence that has been achieved in social media. This will be done by analyzing the qualitative analysis model developed by Miles and Huberman, specifically focusing on data reduction, display, and conclusion. The study revealed that the use of social media can augment the literacy and inclusivity of society about Islamic economic and financial knowledge, leading to a transition towards the halal lifestyle and an enhancement of the human development index.
