Abstract

Studies on the correlation between consumer sentiment, as measured using the consumer confidence index, and zakat growth are limited. Studies related to this topic are important because the consumer confidence index, as an indicator of consumer sentiment, can reflect people's behavior in paying zakat. This study explores the relationship between the consumer confidence index and zakat growth in Indonesia in the 2018-2022 period. Data on zakat is obtained from the financial statements of national zakat institutions, while data on the consumer confidence index is obtained from Bank Indonesia. Through the Arellano-Bover/Blundell Bond two-step GMM system approach, the study concluded that the consumer confidence index did not have a significant impact on zakat growth. This finding is a contribution in understanding why the potential of zakat in Indonesia has not been optimized, in line with the existing literature. The research also offers an update in the use of consumer sentiment indicators.

Abstract

This article aims to explore the ideas of Islamic economics Jalaluddin Rakhmat or who is fondly called Kang Jalal. This study uses a qualitative approach that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observable behavior that aims to explain and test the truth of an economic knowledge based on Islamic values. The data sources used in this study are primary data sources and secondary data sources. The analytical method used in this research is hermeneutics. The research results show that Kang Jalal sees the importance of reviving the revolutionary spirit in eradicating poverty. That is, it is necessary to review Asy'ariyah theology and relate it to contemporary problems concerning the problem of poverty among the people. Concerning the myths of poverty, Kang Jalal categorizes the myths of poverty into three kinds. First. The myth of overgeneralization or fallacy of dramatic instances. Second. The myth of blaming the victim (blaming the victim) or argumentum ad hominem. Third. The myth of argumentum ad verecundiam. In the relationship between Sufism and poverty, Kang Jalal is more in favor of a point of view that understands Sufism as a mentality that helps overcome poverty socially rather than a mentality that encourages poverty. The results of this study also found that preaching and rational Islamic teachings about social engineering are part of the interpretation of Islamic teachings. In other words, the concept of social engineering for poverty alleviation is very relevant to the context of Islamic da'wah in Indonesia

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine whether a company's ability to retain its current customers is more important than its ability to acquire new customers. BSI wants to increase customer satisfaction and service quality by growing customer loyalty through mobile banking. Even though many BSI clients already have BSI Mobile, not all of them make full use of it. Therefore, the level of customer loyalty when using BSI Mobile is not too high. This is based on consumer interviews with BSI mobile banking users which show that consumers often decide to make transactions via BSI Mobile. The reason is that BSI Mobile is more user friendly and convenient; all you need is a smartphone to use it anytime, anywhere. For customers who decide not to use BSI Mobile for transactions due to lack of security, increased vulnerability to fraud, and ease of hacking. The aim of this research is to analyze and assess how customer experience and service quality influence BSI mobile banking customer loyalty, both partially and simultaneously. A quantitative approach was used in this research. This data was collected through survey research techniques on BSI customers who use mobile banking services. Customer loyalty and service quality in BSI mobile banking are positively and significantly influenced by customer experience, according to research findings

Abstract

The development of Islamic banking in Indonesia today has experienced a rapid increase both in quantity and quality. As an institution that operates based on sharia principles, Islamic banks have different characteristics and assessments of financial performance from conventional banks. Islamicity Performance Index is one of the new concepts as a method that can be used to evaluate the performance of Islamic banks which are not only financially but also able to evaluate the principles of fairness and halalness of an Islamic banking. This study aims to reveal the application of sharia principles to the performance of Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia for the 2017-2020 period by using the Islamicity Performance Index. The ratios used are Profit Sharing Ratio, Zakat Performance Ratio, Equitable Distribution Ratio, Directors-Employees Welfare Ratio, Islamic Investment Vs Non-Islamic Investment, Islamic Income Vs Non-Islamic Income and the AAOIFI Index. The data used in this research is secondary data. The population of this study is all Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia for the 2017-2020 period, with a sample of five banks. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling method. From the results of this study, it was found that the performance of Islamic banks can be said to be "unsatisfactory" because they have implemented profit sharing in accordance with Islamic rules and sharia, although the share of profit sharing is still lower than other financing. Islamic banks in issuing zakat are still not maximal, namely below 1%. In distribution to stakeholders, Islamic banks have issued qards and donations, providing employee salaries and net income which are still not felt by the benefits of the stakeholders. In the comparison of the average salary of directors with the average salary of employees, there is a difference in the average salary which is too high so that justice must be upheld in Islamic institutions to reduce the gap between directors and employees. Islamic Commercial Banks invest their funds in the halal sector with a ratio yield of 100% and already have 99% income from halal income. Shariah principles set by AAOIFI as a whole have been fulfilled by Sharia Commercial Banks in terms of promotion costs, risk-weighted assets, non-performing financing, interest-free income, profitability and distribution of zakat, although many of these points have not been maximized. The conclusion is that Islamic Commercial Banks in Indonesia still need to evaluate their performance for a better future.

Abstract

Poverty is a problem that always exists in various countries around the world including Indonesia, where Indonesia is included in the 100 poorest countries in the world. From Nurkse's theory, the solution that can be done to reduce poverty is to increase financial inclusion and human development index. Islamic financial inclusion in Indonesia is still very low and the human development index in Indonesia continues to increase but the poverty rate in Indonesia is still high. Therefore, the main problem identification in this research is the effect of Islamic financial inclusion and human development index on poverty in Indonesia. This research uses quantitative methods and uses secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics website, and the Financial Services Authority. This research uses panel data regression analysis which takes data from 33 provinces in Indonesia from 2018 to 2022. The results of this study indicate that Islamic financial inclusion and the human development index have a negative and significant effect on the poverty rate in Indonesia. For this reason, it is necessary for government regulations to continue to increase Islamic financial inclusion and the human development index so that poverty in Indonesia can continue to decrease.

Abstract

The widespread corruption cases in Indonesia have resulted in the country's Corruption Perception Index (CPI) score falling below the global average. This prevalence of corruption is certainly in stark contrast to the principles of business ethics in Islam. One concrete effort to uncover corruption is believed to be through whistleblowing. This study examines the role of whistleblowing as a manifestation of business ethics in Islam. Through a library research approach, this study analyzes the concept of whistleblowing within the context of Islamic business ethics, the ethical values underlying the practice of whistleblowing, as well as the obstacles and challenges that may be encountered in its implementation. The findings of the study indicate that Islamic ethical values, such as honesty, justice, and social responsibility, are represented through whistleblowing in Islamic business ethics. In the Qur'an, Allah SWT commands His servants to always do good and avoid wrongdoing, which aligns with the implementation of whistleblowing aimed at exposing fraud that harms the public
