Abstract

Leptospirosis is a direct zoonosis where transmission occurs directly, without the use of other vectors, and humans are accidental hosts that are unintentionally related to infective animals or Leptospira contaminated material. Leptospirosis is a public health problem throughout the world, especially tropical and subtropical countries that have high rainfall, and is also a major problem in temperate regions. Leptospirosis is zoonosis due to Leptospira bacteria. Leptospirosis is a whole world with a broad spectrum of animals as its host. Infection that occurs in humans that occurs, after contact with air or other materials contaminated with animal waste. The aim is to study the relationship with the incidence of leptospirosis. The method used in this article is a literature review. Library sources used in preparation of literature review use journal articles from 2015 to 2017, the process of searching through Google Scholar articles. Journal discussion results show air temperature, humidity, increase in rainfall, air pH, and flood events have an influence on leptospirosis. Relationship between events with leptospirosis. The conclusion in this journal explains that there is a relationship between complications and the incidence of leptospirosis.

Abstract

Based on the Hulu Sungai Tengah District Health Office report, scabies continues to exist and is a problem that must to resolved immediately. The working area of the Pagat Health Center, which is one of the sub-districts in Hulu Sungai Tengah, experienced the highest increase in scabies cases. The purpose of this study was to determine personal hygiene relations include bathing habits and habit of using soap together with scabies in the working area of the Pagat Health Center. This type of research uses a retrospective approach (case-control study), which compares the behaviour of the sick group with a lively group associated with the incidence of scabies. The sample of this research is 30 people. Data will be analyzed using the x2 test (Chi-square). The results of this study indicate there is a relationship between bathing habits with the incidence of scabies P-value = 0.026

Abstract

Ventilation is the process of exchanging clean air from outside into the room. Good ventilation is able to ensure smooth air circulation. This study aims to determine the relationship of air adequacy with comfort in room space. This research is an analytic study with cross sectional approach. The sample of this study was 30 rooms that used natural ventilation systems. The air change time is calculated from the volume of the room, the height and area of the ventilator, as well as the difference in the temperature of the outside and indoor air. Adequacy of air available with the air needed by its inhabitants. Objective comfort is based on the difference between outside and inside room temperature, and subjectively based on the room occupant's perspective. The results showed as many as 87% of the rooms had no air turnover time and as many as 20% of the rooms had insufficient air. Objectively stated rooms are uncomfortable as much as 57%, but subjectively reaching 77%. Statistically there is a significant relationship between air adequacy with comfort in the room objectively (p = 0.024). It can be concluded that the adequacy of the air represented by the ventilation system is related to the comfort of the air in the room space, to create a comfortable and healthy room space. Future research is expected to consider and include other factors that affect the ventilation system such as the layout of the furniture, the position of the ventilation, and the characteristics of the building so that research on comfort is more objective.

Abstract

The increasing number of vehicles passing through campus 2 UIN Walisongo Semarang is caused by the policy of getting out of the vehicle through the parking gate at the campus gate 2. The increase in the number of vehicles causes an increase in air pollution on campus 2. To overcome this air pollution one of which can be done planting plants that can absorb pollutants. Plants that can absorb pollutants, one of which is Sanseviera sp. or tongue-in-law. This plant was chosen because it is suitable for planting in conditions of campus 2 which are arid and hot. This plant can be in a garden that is less fertile and requires less water. Sanseviera sp. can absorb pollutants memlui leaf cells. Sanseviera sp. can absorb pollutants of 46 , 7 %.

Abstract

Perubahan iklim secara langsung berkaitan dengan perubahan kondisi lingkungan. Iklim dan cuaca adalah komponen fisik dari suatu ekosistem. Jika ada beberapa perubahan dalam komponen fisik dari ekosistem, itu akan memiliki efek pada kejadian dan pola penyebaran penyakit influenza. Influenza (flu) adalah penyakit pernapasan menular yang disebabkan oleh virus influenza yang dapat menyebabkan penyakit ringan sampai penyakit berat. Penyebab influenza adalah virus RNA yang termasuk dalam keluarga Orthomyxoviridae yang dapat menyerang burung, mamalia termasuk manusia. Virus ditularkan melalui air liur terinfeksi yang keluar pada saat penderita batuk, bersin atau melalui kontak langsung dengan sekresi (ludah, air liur, ingus) penderita. Penulisan artikel ini dilakukan untuk untuk mengetahui hubungan antara iklim dengan kejadian penyakit influenza. Penulisan artikel ini menggunakan literature review proses pencarian artikel melalui Google Scholar. Artikel jurnal yang di temukan menggunakan bahasa inggris dan key words yang digunakan dalam pencarian jurnal adalah Climate Corelation With The Incidence Of Influeza Disease. Artikel jurnal yang ditemukan dengan judul yang berbeda-beda tetapi mengacu pada hubungan antara iklim dengan kejadian penyakit influenza. Dari 6 artikel jurnal yang digunakan sebagai leteratur review memperoleh hasil bahwa ada hubungan antara iklim dengan kejadia penyakit influenza. Tren penyakit influenza meningkat pada musim penghujan dengan kelembaban udara yang sangat rendah.

Abstract

Domestic wastewateris wastewaterthat is from residential businesses or activities, restaurants, offices, businesses, apartments and dormitories. Preliminary test result against BOD, COD, and Total Coliform in domestic wastewaterof steel industry in Surabaya did not qualify in which according to Regulation of Minister of Environment and Forestry in Republic of Indonesia Number 68 of 2016, the requirements were 63 mg/l, 189 mg/l and 13,000 CFU/100ml. Treatment that could be conducted was coagulation-flocculation with the addition of biocoagulant of papaya seed. Moreover, the purpose of this study was in order to analyze the reduction in BOD, COD, and Total Coliform level in domestic wastewaterof steel industry in Surabaya by adding biocoagulant of papaya seed (Carica papaya L). Type of this research was a pure experimental research with pretest-posttest control group design. Object of this research was domestic wastewater in one of steel industries in Surabaya, East Java Province, Indonesia. The dosage variations were 1 gram, 2 grams and 3 grams and 0 gram as a control with replication as much as 6 times. Thus, it was obtained 24 sample size. The results of BOD, COD, and Total Coliform before and after the addition of papaya seed(Carica papaya L)biocoagulant were analyzed by using paired t test and probit test. The results showed thatBOD, COD and Total Coliform levels in domestic wastewater of steel industry in Surabaya after having treatment reduced. The highest percentage in dose of 3 gr could reduce BOD and COD level until 93% and Total Coliform in 66%. The optimum dose in reducing BOD and COD levels were 3,629 gr/l and 3,109 gr/l. Furthermore, coagulation-flocculation wastewater treatment by using biocoagulant of papaya seed could reduce BOD, COD, and Total Coliform levels. Thus, for steel industry, it was necessary to conduct pre-treatmentof coagulation-flocculation treatment against domestic wastewater by using biocoagulant of papaya seed before being dumped into water bodies.

Abstract

Brackish water caused of high chloride sodium content, giving to feel briny at water. The only chemical process can remove chloride is the ion exchange. The aim of this study was to determine the difference of percentage decreasing of chloride levels in variations of chloride level in brackish water (870 mg/l, 1712 mg/l, 2501 mg/l) and variation of sampling time (1,5 hours, 3 hours, 4,5 hours). Brackish water used the result of dilution of brines using freshwater. This process brackish water by passing into a resin media tube’s diameter 5cm and 40cm high with flow discharge 100ml/min. The results of chloride levels after the process still exceeded the quality standard Permenkes RI No.492/MENKES/PER/IV/2010. The avarage chloride levels after from the chloride 870 mg/l is 776,7 mg/l, the chloride 1712 mg/l is 1520 mg/l and the chloride 2501 mg/l is 2139 mg/l. From Two-Way-Anova test showed a significant difference between the percentage of decreasing chloride levels in various sampling time, the variation of initial chloride level, and interaction between variation in initial chloride content and sampling time.

Abstract

Oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) Is a type of plantation that is Indonesia's mainstay commodity with rapid development. Palm oil industry wastewater comes from a variety of palm oil processing processes that contain high organic and inorganic materials. The resulting waste must be controlled and treated so that it does not pose a threat to the palm oil industry because it can pollute the environment and sources of disease. One method of processing palm oil liquid waste that can be used is coagulation. The coagulation process requires a coagulant, the coagulant used is aluminum sulfate, ferrous sulfate, ferric chloride. This study aims to obtain the type and dose of chemical coagulants that are effective in handling palm oil industry liquid waste in anaerobic ponds and determine the reduction of pollutant variables (COD, TSS, Turbdity, color, and pH changes) due to the treatment of coagulant treatment. This study used a Randomized Group Design (RBD) with 10 levels of treatment consisting of B0 (Non-coagulant), B1 (Al2 (SO4)3 1 g/L), B2 (Al2 (SO4)3 1,5 g/L), B3 (Al2 (SO4)3 2 g/L), B4 (FeSO47H2O 1 g/L), B5 (FeSO47H2O 1,5 g/L), B6 (FeSO47H2O 2 g/L), B7 (FeCl36H2O 1 g/L), B8 (FeCl36H2O 1,5 g/L), B9 (FeCl36H2O 1 g/L). Data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and a 5% LSD test. The results obtained are ferric chloride being the best coagulant to reduce polluted parameters in palm oil liquid waste and Ferri chloride 2 g/L is the best treatment for reducing pollutant parameters of COD, TSS, Turbidity, and Color. Whereas the best pH reduction in aluminum sulfate 1 g/L coagulant.

Abstract

Low back pain is one of the musculoskeletal disorders resulting from the wrong ergonomics. Such conditions can occur in the informal work sector, such as clothes tailors at the Martapura Bauntung Batuah Market. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of work position with complaints of lower back pain in clothes tailors at the Bauntung Batuah Market Martapura. This study is an analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique uses total sampling with criteria for male sex so that the number of samples is 43 people. Data will be analyzed using the x2 test (Chi-square). The results of the statistical analysis obtained the value of the work position p-value of 0,000 meaning that there is a relationship between the work position and complaints of lower back pain in the clothes tailor at the Martapura Bauntung Batuah Market. For other researchers, further research needs to being done on other factors such as individual factors and physical environmental factors that can cause complaints of lower back pain.

Abstract

Tableware is one of the most important factors in the spread of disease, the non-hygiene and microorganism’s container Tableware can spread disease through food. Therefore, the washing process with the right method is very important in efforts to reduce bacterial numbers, especially in tableware. The purpose of this research was to know the correlation between tableware washing method in food processing place with the bacterial numbers in tableware. This research was an analytical research with literature study method using 5 journals studied. The results of the 5 journals studied showed that 35.5% of 121 TPMs (food processing place) carried out tableware washing with inappropriate techniques 56,9% of 258 observed tableware sample contain ineligible microorganisms. 3 of the studied journal claimed there was no significant correlation between washing technic variable with the bacterial numbers variable in tableware as the P value = 1000 while 2 other studied journal claimed there was a correlation between washing technic variable with the bacterial numbers variable in tableware. Based on the research results from the studied journal, efforts can be made to pay more attention to hygiene and not ignoring the proper washing techniques as suggested, such as flushing, rinsing and sanitizing to avoid the bacterial numbers that exceed the standard.
