Abstract

The development of the internet of things occurs because of the Wireless Sensor Network. NRF24l01 is one of the communication modules used in the Wireless Sensor Network. The NRF24l01 communication range is suitable for use in homes and building. NRF24l01 can be implemented in daily activities for example turning off and on lamp. Sometimes there are lamp that are not installed in the lamp fitting and it is unknown when going to turn on the lamp. With this research, slave nodes are made as a driving force to turn on or off the lamp and use electric and infrared current sensors to find out whether there are lamp and nodes sink/gateways that connect the slave nodes to the smartphone application. Communication between slave node and sink/gateway node uses NRF24l01. Communication between sink/gateway node and smartphone application uses the concept of internet of things by using the MQTT protocol to manage its communication and cloudMQTT as a broker that stores data temporarily from these communications. This research uses a plug and play method that is applied when it is first turned on, the slave node will send an introduction to the sink/gateway node to get the address and the sink/gateway node will send the available address. The test results prove that the distance between the slave node and the sink/gateway node affects the delay of sending data, then the reference whether there is a lamp or not is the change in electric current and infrared sensors that detect objects.

Abstract

Among Kota is an application resulting from the implementation of the Smart City of Batu City, which acts as a medium to help the people of Batu City and tourists to find information about Batu City easier. The application, which was released on the Google Play Store on December 14, 2017, has received a rating of 4.1 out of a scale of 5. But behind this rating, various negative reviews from users regarding the application's usability have also emerged. Based on these problems, encouraging researchers to evaluate usability using the Think Aloud and Heuristic Evaluation methods. Evaluation is carried out to explore usability problems in the application in more depth from the perspective of users and experts, to be able to provide recommendations for proper interface design improvements to these problems. The evaluation using the Think Aloud method involving 8 respondents (users) resulted in 31 problems. Then, in the Heuristic Evaluation method that involved 4 evaluators (experts), 26 usability problems were identified and validated by all evaluators. Based on the evaluation results using the Think Aloud and Heuristic Evaluation methods above, then compiled into one and generated as many as 46 problems. Each problem is accompanied by a category of problem severity based on the severity rating it has. Furthermore, filtering and categorization are carried out to determine the problems given recommendations for improvement. Only issues that fall into the research scope categorized as Catastrophe and Major will be given suggestions for improvement. The result is 25 issues given suggestions for improving the new interface design, which the researcher presented in the form of a prototype.

Abstract

In this era, every company faces fierce competition of fulfilling consumer expectations by providing satisfying services. So it needs to be supported by the use of information technology, to make a profit and be able to compete in a wider market. The Electric Bill Payment Application is a monitoring system for the payment of electricity bills to help administrators, collectors, and Griya Bayar's members. The development of electricity bill payment applications takes a case study at Griya Bayar Respon, Malang Regency. The system development process is carried out using the waterfall method, starting from the needs analysis to testing with an object-oriented approach. In the needs analysis phase, it produces 23 functional needs. The implementation phase utilizes the Laravel framework. System testing that conducted is unit testing with 100% valid data results from 4 functionality tests, integration testing results 100% valid, and validation testing results 100% data valid from 23 functionality of test cases. Non-functional testing is tested using the compatibility and usability parameters. Compatibility was tested using Sortsite software with the result that the electricity bill payment application can run on several browsers including internet explorer (IE), Edge, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Chrome, iOS, and Android. Usability produces an SEQ value of 82.8% that is in the category of excellent and Successful, and the average of SUS is 74 in which means Acceptable.

Abstract

Constrained Application Protocol (CoAP) is a communication protocol that was created for devices with constrained resources. Some of its feature are low header overhead and low parsing complexity which make CoAP a good choice for communication protocol in Internet of things (Iot) base system. However, this protocol does not have security feature, the data that was sent by this protocol can easily be seen by a sniffing attack which mean an attacker can easily read any confidential data that was sent by CoAP. One way to solve this problem is encrypting the data before sending it with CoAP so that an attacker cannot read the data. In this study, we build a simple client-server system that use CoAP as its communication protocol and also implement a stream cipher called Trivium with Diffie-Hellman key exchange (DHKE) to secure the data. The results from this study show that attacker can get the ciphertext only from doing a sniffing attack on the system and not the actual data. The system takes an average of 0.055414 second to encrypt data, an average of 0.058667 second to decypt the ciphertext, and an average of 1.741022 second to send a data which include doing handshaking proses, encrypting data and decrypting the ciphertext. Even though the system is capable to maintain data confidentiality, it still very vulnerable from attacks such as Active Man-in-the-Middle and Crib Dragging.

Abstract

Kimia Farma, through the Kimia Farma Mobile application, aims to become a leading healthcare company through digitization. However, in this application there are still several problems, one of which is the layout of the site map which is difficult for users to understand so that users have difficulty accessing the intended menu. This study aims to assist Kimia Farma in providing recommendations for design solutions for the Kimia Farma Mobile application on the Android platform using a Human Centered Design approach that is supported by usability testing when conducting evaluations. Research begins in the phase of understanding and determining the context of use, determining user requirements, producing design solutions, and ending with evaluating the design. The evaluation process is carried out in the phase of determining user requirements by involving 6 respondents consisting of 2 groups of users. Based on the evaluation, it was obtained 9 problem points experienced by respondents and 8 suggestions from respondents for further improvements. The process of improving user interface design is carried out in the phase of producing design solutions by referring to a list of problems, a list of proposals, and also guidelines from Google Material Design. In this phase, a wireframe and prototype of the solution design for the Kimia Farma Mobile application is generated. In this phase, periodic iterations are carried out so that the resulting design of the solution can meet the user's wishes. The final result of this research is in the form of a prototype which is then re-evaluated by respondents who have conducted previous evaluations. Based on the last evaluation conducted, the respondents did not feel the problems they had previously experienced and were satisfied with the solution design they made. Abstract

Latansa Textile is one of the textile shops established in Balikpapan, East Kalimantan. The shop manages its sales transaction as a business report with a manual book and hand-writing. Hence, the transaction notes might be piled up. Delay of re-stock also occurred since the shop has never recorded the material stock, and it causes failure to comply with textile buyers' demand. To overcome the problem, a web-based sales system was developed to facilitate the process of transaction management. Object-Oriented Analysis and Design and Object-Oriented Programming methods were employed to develop the system. It was developed with Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP) as the programming language and Codeigniter as the framework. Unit testing and integration testing employed the white-box method, while validation testing employed the black-box method. Results of the unit testing and integration testing show that the system runs as designed. The result of validation testing shows that the system fulfills all the functional requirements. Thus, all the testing show 100% validity, and the system is ready to use.

Abstract

Ker is a mobile-based application with an Android operating system that was inaugurated by the Malang city government in order to harmonize with the President of the Republic of Indonesia's regulations related to electronic-based government systems (SPBE) as well as towards smart city. The Ker application was made with the primary purpose of supporting and facilitating public services for people in the city of Malang. Based on the results of interviews and observations of 20 respondents, there are problems in the application of Ker related to usability problems. The problem is the existence of a function key and process that is not in accordance with what users expect from the application. Therefore, a study was conducted to determine the usability level of the Ker application. Usability testing is used to measure the level of usefulness of the aspects of effectiveness and efficiency, while the usability scale (SUS) questionnaire is used to determine the level of usefulness of the satisfaction aspect. The results showed that the level of usefulness from the aspect of effectiveness increased 5.13%, the aspect of efficiency 35.91%, and satisfaction by 16.42. If based on Sauro's SUS score (2018), the acceptable range that was previously in the "Marginal" category increased by one level above "Acceptable", for adjective rating that was previously included in the "Ok" category, rose one level to "Good", as well as for the grade scale that previously received the value "C" increased two levels to "A".

Abstract

Cloud computing is an important technology and is quite widely used today. Some companies that provide cloud computing services now are Google, Microsoft, IBM and Amazon. One of the popular cloud computing services is virtualization. Virtualization allows a single machine to perform multiple roles of a running service. In the application of virtualization in cloud computing, live migration is a very important process. Live migration of a virtual machine requires the entire state of the source virtual machine to be moved to the destination virtual machine. On the other hand, there is a live migration technique called container live migration which only requires the state of the service to be moved. This research applies container live migration techniques to move services from one virtual machine to another, without having to move the entire state from the source virtual machine to the destination virtual machine, using Podman and CRIU. With Podman, a service can run as an isolated process, independent of its surroundings. With CRIU, services can be stopped and transferred from one machine to another. The results of functional testing show that the proposed live migration method is capable of moving services between different cloud providers. The results of testing the implementation of container live migration between cloud providers using Podman and CRIU show an average downtime of 34.618 seconds, and an average migration time of 71.627 seconds.

Abstract

Vehicular Ad-Hoc Network (VANET) is a technology developed to provide communication services among vehicles. VANET aimed at improving road safety, necessary warning systems and so on. Before being able to communicate a very important process that must be done is the routing process. Routing process is a process to determine the path that will be passed by the information to be sent properly, efficiently, and precisely. The method to run this routing process is routing protocol. Based on several problems encountered in the urban environment, one of which is the clustering of vehicles caused by traffic light,a study is needed that examines the impact of movement flows and grouping of vehicles influenced by the presence of traffic light on the performance of routing protocol. Then a solution is needed, namely the implementation of a routing protocol that uses vehicle geographic information for the routing process, namely Greedy Perimeter Stateless Routing (GPSR) routing protocol. By using end-to-end delay, Packet Delivery Ratio, Overhead Routing, Normalized Routing Load and Convergence Time as test parameters. Based on the results from test parameters, scenario without traffic light has better results even though in Convergence time is still better if there is traffic light.
