Abstract

Telah dilakukan preparasi kalsium oksida dari tulang ayam dengan proses dekomposisi selama 3 jam pada variasi temperatur 400oC, 500oC, 700oC, 800oC, 900oC, 1000oC, 1100oC. Karakterisasi CaO hasil dekomposisi dengan XRD menunjukkan pola difraksi CaO pada temperatur dekomposisi 1100°C mendekati difraksi CaO standar (JCPDS) yang memiliki nilai 2?: 34,2º, 37,3º, 58,3º, 64,1º dan 67,3º dengan struktur kristalin. Pita serapan pada spectra FTIR Ca-O dari tulang ayam terlihat pada daerah 354,90 cm-1 yang menunjukkan adanya vibrasi Ca-O hasil dekomposisi, diperkuat dengan munculnya puncak pada gelombang 870 cm-1. Kemudian persentase CaO di dalam sampel dikonfirmasi dengan data EDX yang menunjukkan persentase sebesar 56,28%.Preparation of calcium oxide from chicken bones has been carried out systematically by decomposition for 3 hours at various temperatures i.e. 400, 500, 700, 800, 900, 1000 and 1100 oC. Formation of calcium oxide from decomposition process was characterized using X-Ray diffractometer. The results showed that XRD pattern of materials obtained from decomposition of chicken bones at 1100 oC which has a values of 2?: 32.2º, 37.5º, 58.3º, and 64.1º with a crystalline structure is similar with XRD pattern of calcium oxide standard from Joint Committee on Powder Diffraction Standards (JCPDS) . The absorption bands in the FTIR spectra of the Ca-O shown at 354.90 cm-1 region indicated the presence of Ca-O vibration, reinforced by the emergence of a peak at 870 cm-1. The percentage of 56.28% of CaO in the sample was confirmed by EDX data.

Abstract

ABSTRACTZainal Hasan A. E. et al., 2011. Propolis as alternative additive anti-cariesPeriodontal disease included dental caries still the major problem in the world. Usually commercial tooth pastecontains fluoride which has an important role to prevent tooth from damage. Contain fluoride overdose causedfluorosis, bone damage and anemia. Therefore, the propolis was being tested as alternative additive anti cariesto prevent the growth of cariogenics bacteria (Streptococcus mutans). This research studied propolis activityantibacterial and the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of propolis against S. mutans.Ethanolic extract of propolis (EEP) contained various bioactive compound such as flavonoid, tannine, alkaloid,triterpenoid and saponin based on phytochemistry analyses. The extract effectivities are 96.5% relative to thepropolis X, 41.04% relative to amphicillin 10 mg/ml and 240.57% relative to NaF 3000 ppm. The MIC of theextract is 3.13%. Therefore, propolis extract can be used asa additive anti caries element in tooth paste.Statistical analyses showed that 100% EEP, X propolis and amphicillin 10 mg/ml had the ability to decrease S.mutans colonyKeywords : propolis, anti-caries, ethanolic extract

Abstract

Synthesis of dodecyl chloride produced by chlorination reaction of dodecanol with phosphor trichloride was14,48 grams (70,81%). Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik kimia, menentukan kandungan fitokimia dan aktivitas antioksidan minuman serbuk lemon cui dengan penambahan ekstrak pala dan cengkeh. Metode penelitian ini yaitu penelitian eksperimental dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) sebanyak 3 level perlakuan dengan 3 kali ulangan yang disusun dalam bentuk formulasi. Hasil penelitian karakteristik kimia minuman serbuk lemon cui yaitu kadar air (0,77-1,72%), total gula (78,21-99,43%). Kandungan fitokimia berupa total fenolik (25,23-130.51 µg/mL), vitamin C (278,70-390,55 mg/100g ) dan kapasitas total antioksidan (0.00-92,23 µg/mL). Hasil penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa secara umum karakter kimia semua formula produk minuman serbuk berbasis lemon cui memenuhi persyaratan SNI Minuman Serbuk Tradisional (SNI 01-4320-2004) yaitu kadar air sedangkan total gula tidak memenuhi persyaratan. Formula B mengandung kadar vitamin C, senyawa fenolik serta kapasitas total antioksidan tertinggi.ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the chemical properties, determining the phytochemical content and antioxidant activity as well at get preference level powder drink lemon cui with the addition of nutmeg and clove extract. This research method is the method of experimental research design completely randomized design with three replications. The results of the research chemical characteristic powder drink lemon cui are water content (0,77-1,72%) and total sugar (78.21-99.43%). Phytochemical content are total phenolics content (25.23-130.51 µg/mL), vitamin C (278.70-390.55 mg/100g) and the total antioxidant capacity (0.00-92.23 µg/mL). The results of the research can be concluded that in general chemical characteristics of all formula powder drink lemon cui meet the requirements of the traditional powder drink SNI 01-4320-2004 are water drink content except for total sugars. Formula B contains high level of vitamin C, phenolic compounds and the highest total antioksidant.

Abstract

The research has been done to study the effect of cyanide concentration on gold production. There are three step to produced gold. First is repulper, second is leaching and the last is burning. The result show that concentration of cyanide give effect in gold production. Cyanide with 100 ppm significantly different compared with cyanide with 200, 400 and 600 ppm in gold recovery. Based on statistical analysis, cyanide with 400 ppm is the best concentration in gold production.

Abstract

The band gaps of pure TiO2-anatase and Ag-doped TiO2-anatase have been predicted with density functional theory (DFT) approach. Kohn-Sham density functional theory calculations are performed using local density approximation (LDA) and generalized gradient approximation from Perdew-Burke-Ernzerhof (GGA+PBE) for exchange-correlation functionals. The first-principle calculations were done using unit cell convensional dan supercell (2x1x1) methods for TiO2-anatase and Ag-doped TiO2-anatase, respectively, as implemented within Amsterdam Density Functional (ADF) package of ADF-BAND version 2014.10. The calculated band gaps of pure TiO2-anatase from LDA and GGA+PBE were 2.74 and 2.87 eV, respectively. The intermediate band has been resulted from the calculation of Ag-doped TiO2-anatase using LDA and GGA+PBE as exchange-correlation functionals. The calculated band gaps of Ag-doped TiO2-anatase using LDA were 0.92 eV above valence band and 1.74 eV below conduction band, meanwhile from GGA+PBE were 1.02 eV above valence band and 1.78 eV below conduction band.Energi celah pita dalam TiO2-anatas dan TiO2-anatas terdadah perak (Ag-TiO2-anatas) dapat diprediksi dengan pendekatan density functional theory (DFT). Persamaan Kohn-Sham digunakan untuk perhitungan berdasarkan pendekatan density-functional theory (DFT) dengan fungsi korelasi perubahan local density approximation (LDA) and generalized gradient approximation dari Perdew-Burke-Ernzerhof (GGA+PBE). Perhitungan prinsip awal energi celah pita dilakukan menggunakan metode unit sel konvensional TiO2-anatas dan supersel (2x1x1) Ag-TiO2-anatas dengan program ADF-BAND versi 2014.10 yang terdapat dalam paket program Amsterdam Density Functional (ADF). Hasil perhitungan energi celah pita untuk TiO2-anatas diperoleh nilai energi celah pita berdasarkan LDA dan GGA+PBE sebagai fungsi korelasi perubahan, masing-masing sebesar 2,74 dan 2,87 eV. Pita antara (intermediate band) dihasilkan dari perhitungan energi celah pita dalam Ag-TiO2-anatas berdasarkan pendekatan DFT dengan fungsi korelasi perubahan LDA and GGA+PBE). Hasil perhitungan energi celah pita dalam Ag-TiO2-anatas dengan LDA sebesar 0,92 eV di atas pita valensi dan 1,74 eV di bawah pita konduksi, sedangkan dengan GGA+PBE sebesar 1,02 eV di atas pita valensi dan 1,78 eV di bawah pita konduksi.

Abstract

Pratoko, 2012. Molecular docking senyawa fitokimia Piper longum (L.) terhadap reseptor siklooksigenase-2(COX-2) sebagai antiinflamasi. Piper longum (L.) memiliki aktivitas antiinflamasi dengan mekanisme penghambatan enzim siklooksigenase-2(COX-2). Penelitian ini melakukan penambatan (docking) molekul senyawa fitokimia yang terkandung dalamPiper longum (L.) terhadap reseptor siklooksigenase-2 (COX-2) untuk menguji energi docking yang seringkalidihubungkan dengan afinitas ikatan antara ligan dengan reseptor. Dari penelitian ini, didapatkan 2 senyawayang memiliki energy paling rendah diantara senyawa fitokimia yang lain, seperti pipericide dan sylvetin. Kelimasenyawa ini memiliki afinitas ikatan antara ligan dan reseptor yang kuat dan stabil. Berdasarkan energi daninteraksi yang terjadi antara senyawa dan reseptor dapat disimpulkan bahwa senyawa-senyawa ini diprediksimemberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap aktivitas.Kata kunci : docking, Piper longum (L.), reseptor siklooksigenase-2, COX-2, antiinflamasiPratoko, 2012. Molecular docking of phytochemical compound from Piper longum (L.) on siklooksigenase-2(COX-2) receptor as anti inflamation. Piper longum (L.) has anti-inflammatory activity with a mechanism of inhibition of the enzyme cyclooxygenase-2(COX-2). This study did docking phytochemical compounds that contained in Piper longum (L.) to the receptorof cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2). These docking studies to determine the docking energy associated with thebinding affinity between the ligand and receptor. From this study, obtained 2 compounds that have the lowestenergy among other phytochemical compounds, such as pipericide and sylvetin. These compounds have abinding affinity between ligand and receptor are strong and stable. Based on the energy and the interactionsbetween compounds and receptors can be concluded that these compounds are predicted have a significantinfluence on the activity.Keywords : docking, Piper longum (L.), cyclooxygenase-2 receptor, COX-2, anti-inflammatory

Abstract

ABSTRACTMomuat et al., 2010. Heating effect on total antioxidant of some Tinutuan vegetables.A research was done to to study the effect of heating on total antioxidant some tinutuan vegetables. Total antioxidant of some vegetables was evaluated using ferric reducing antioxidant plasma method. The results show that vegetables treat by heating possessed high antioxidant activity. Total antioxidant of unheating gedi, spinach, kangkung and kemangi were 0.36, 1.84, 0.30 and 0.58, respectively. Total antioxidant of heating gedi, spinach, kangkung and kemangi were 0.93, 2.74, 0.69 and 1.07, respectively. High total antioxidant activity of heating vegetables caused by its antioxidant compound increase after heating time.Keywords : heating, vegetables, tinutuan, total antioxidant

Abstract

The contamination of gasoline is getting higher along with the increasing number of cars up to this days.With the improvement of lead polutant (Pb) on the air, human being will get more risk of being exposed bythe danger of this substance. Various effect of lead exposure toward human health are hypertension andoccupational fatigue. The workers of SPBU is a high risk group that was exposed by lead, since they wereused to exposed with fume or gasoline and smoke of cars. This research was aimed to find out therelationship between blood lead level and the incident of hypertension toward workers of SPBU in Manadomunicipality.This was a cross sectional research with 96 respondents. The bivariat analysis showed thatblood lead level had positive and significant correlation and yet weak toward hypertension incident(p<0,05; rpbis=0,324; rpbis2=0,105). The multivariate analysis showed that the blood lead level was asignificant predictor (p<0,05) toward hypertension incident with effective contribution of 6,74%. Theresearch result showed that the blood lead level had significant relationship and predictor towardhypertension after the other predictors being controlled. Therefore, prevention effort on the impact of leadthrough continuous health examination and application of health principles and occupational safety for theSPBU workers is necessary Keywords : blood lead level, hypertension

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the effects of adsorbent on antioxidant activity of liquid smoke from champaka wood. The adsorbent was used as active carbon, silica gel and alumina. Concentration of adsorbent were added to liquid smoke fro 1-5%. Antioxidant activity of liquid smoke was evaluated in 1.1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DDPH) radical test. The liquid smoke was treated with third adsorbent in agitation for 15, 30 and 45 minutes. The effect of active carbon showed the highest scavenging activity in DPPH radical followed alumina and silica gel. This result showed that active carbon effect at concentration of 3 and 5% had highest antioxidant activity than alumina and silica gel for 45 and 60 minutes. This research concluded that active carbon could be increase antioxidant activity of liquid smoke.
