Abstract

The existing mobility aids for the visually impaired today still have several shortcomings, so it is necessary to develop technology that can help them walk better. This study aims to create a walker with sensors that can move right and left. Research also tests its accuracy, precision, and success. In making the tool, two steps are taken: making tools and testing tools. The device consisted of an HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor, two Arduino Nano, an SG90 servo motor, and a buzzer. The product then was tested by reading distances at variations of 60cm, 70cm, 80cm, 90cm and 100cm. In addition to distance testing, the instrument is also tested at 0 °, 30 ° right and left angles and 60 ° right and left — output device in the form of a buzzer sound. This design of mobility aids for the blind people have an accuracy of 99.995% and a precision (repeatability) of 98.600%. Meanwhile, this tool has a percentage of the success rate of 98,400%.[Alat bantu jalan bagi tunanetra saat ini masih memiliki kekurangan sehingga diperlukan pengembangan teknologi yang dapat membantu mereka berjalan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat alat bantu jalan dengan sensor yang dapat bergerak ke kanan dan ke kiri serta menguji akurasi, presisi, dan tingkat keberhasilan alat. Penelitian dilakukan dalam dua tahap yaitu membuat alat dan menguji alat. Alat dibuat menggunakan sebuah sensor ultrasonik HC-SR04, dua buah arduino nano, sebuah motor servo SG90, dan sebuah buzzer. Alat diuji dengan membaca jarak pada variasi 60cm, 70cm, 80cm, 90cm, dan 100cm. Selain pengujian jarak, alat juga diuji pada sudut 0°, 30° kanan dan kiri serta 60° kanan dan kiri. Output alat berupa bunyi buzzer. Hasil penelitian rancang bangun alat bantu jalan bagi penyandang tunanetra yang telah dibuat memiliki akurasi 99,995% dan presisi (repeatability) sebesar 98,600%. Adapun, alat ini memiliki persentase tingkat keberhasilan sebesar 98,400 %.]

Abstract

Sidewalks are public facilities and must be accessible to all users. This study departs from the lack of quality of public open space in Bandung and the absence of a sidewalk model that is responsive to people with low vision. The purpose of this research is to find out the design principles and to make responsive pavement design models of people with low vision. Data was collected by interviewing and observing the behavior and travel of people with low vision on some familiar and unfamiliar sidewalks in the city of Bandung. Data analysis was carried out from recorded interviews to find out the obstacles faced by people with low vision when exploring sidewalk space. This research produces criteria and models of pavement design that are responsive to persons with a low vision based on their limitations. The results of the study are expected to contribute to the concept of pavement design so that people with low vision can have equal and independent rights in accessing public space[Trotoar adalah fasilitas publik dan harus aksesibel bagi semua penggunanya. Penelitian ini berangkat dari kurangnya kualitas ruang terbuka publik di Bandung dan belum adanya model trotoar yang responsif terhadap penyandang low vision. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui prinsip-prinsip perancangan dan membuat model perancangan trotoar responsif penyandang low vision. Data dikumpulkan dengan wawancara dan observasi terhadap perilaku dan perjalanan penyandang low vision di beberapa trotoar yang familier dan tidak familier di Kota Bandung. Analisis data dilakukan dari rekaman hasil wawancara untuk mengetahui hambatan yang dihadapi penyandang low vision ketika menjelajah ruang trotoar. Penelitian ini menghasilkan kriteria dan model perancangan trotoar yang responsif penyandang low vision berdasarkan keterbatasan yang dimiliki oleh mereka. Hasil penelitian diharapkan berkontribusi dalam konsep perancangan trotoar agar penyandang low vision dapat memiliki hak setara dan mandiri dalam mengakses ruang publik.]

Abstract

The vocational independence of autistic students can be achieved if the skills learning program is based on the potential and needs of students. Unfortunately, learning culinary skills for autistic students in an inclusive vocational school in Bandung has not been adjusted so that student achievement is not seen. This is a research and development study using ADDIE model in developing a culinary skill learning program for autistic students at the school. The subject of the study was a Class X autistic student, at the Department of Catering. Program development begins with assessment, curriculum analysis, making alignment programs, then making individual learning programs. Functional learning plans are made for three basic subjects: Hygine Sanitation and Work Safety, Food Knowledge, and Basic Food.[Kemandirian vokasional siswa autis dapat tercapai apabila program pembelajaran keterampilan disusun berdasarkan potensi dan kebutuhan siswa. Sayangnya, pembelajaran keterampilan tata boga bagi siswa autis di salah satu SMK inklusif di Kota Bandung belum disesuaikan sehingga prestasi belajar siswa tidak terlihat. Penelitian ini berjenis research and development yang menggunakan model ADDIE untuk mengembangkan program pembelajaran keterampilan tata boga bagi siswa autis di sekolah tersebut. Subjek penelitian adalah seorang siswa autis Kelas X, Jurusan Tata Boga. Pengembangan program diawali dengan asesmen, analisis kurikulum, pembuatan program penyelarasan, kemudian pemembuatan program pembelajaran individual. Rencana pembelajaran fungsional dibuat untuk tiga mata pelajaran dasar: Sanitasi Hygine dan Keselamatan Kerja, Pengetahuan Bahan Makanan, dan Boga Dasar]

Abstract

People with disabilities have physical limitations, and in many cases, social and economic limitations, so they are very vulnerable when disasters occur. Therefore, we need a system that can help the disabled when a disaster occurs. The purpose of this study is to make an application that can show location information and the shortest road access that can be passed by persons with disabilities or assisted by guardians. One algorithm that can show the shortest path is the Dijkstra algorithm, which will be implemented in the Disaster Evacuation application. Testing the system using the Black Box method shows that the disaster evacuation application is running well and under the system design. The user's location displayed on maps by utilizing GPS technology on a smartphone makes it easy for this application to detect the user's coordinates. This application is connected to the database server so that it can store and retrieve data.[Kaum difabel memiliki keterbatasan fisik, dan dalam banyak kasus keterbatasan sosial dan ekonomi, sehingga mereka sangat rentan ketika terjadi bencana. Oleh sebab itu diperlukan sebuah sistem yang dapat membantu difabel ketika terjadi bencana. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuat sebuah aplikasi yang mampu menunjukkan informasi lokasi dan akses jalan terpendek yang dapat dilalui difabel atau dibantu dengan wali. Salah satu algoritma yang dapat menunjukkan jalur terpendek adalah algoritma Dijkstra yang akan diimplementasikan pada aplikasi Evakuasi Bencana. Pengujian sistem dengan metode Black Box menunjukkan bahwa aplikasi evakuasi bencana sudah berjalan baik dan sesuai dengan perancangan sistem. Lokasi pengguna ditampilkan pada maps dengan memanfaatkan teknologi GPS pada smartphone sehingga mempermudah aplikasi untuk mendeteksi titik koordinat user. Abstract

This study focuses on identifying the problems faced by visually impaired students in teaching-learning  process of English syntax course at Faculty of Humanities, Dian Nuswantoro University in 2014. English syntax, as one of the subjects studied in the English study program, is considered as a challenging subject for visually impaired students as it involves visual perception, such as graphics and images. This research was a descriptive qualitative one. The researchers collected the data by using an in-depth interview. This involved 2 visually impaired students who experienced the learning process of English syntax and 3 lecturers of Dian Nuswantoro University. The discussion was limited on the issues around the needs for creating an accessible learning media and kinds of difficulties faced by the visually impaired students. From the in-depth interview, there are three major findings that are highlighted: a) the needs to overcome all inaccessible English syntax learning materials; b) general difficulties faced by visually impaired students in English syntax subject; c) technical difficulties in drawing tree structure diagrams. Then, these highlighted problems and findings are used as to formulate the recommendations of this study.

Abstract

Children with intellectual disabilities often experience unclear speaking in the form of omission (reduction of words) and distortion (chaos in pronunciation). This problem resulted from their limited ability to understand words. The purpose of this study is to explain the effectiveness of video-based modelling with the help of folder-learning in improving speech intelligibility of mentally disabled children. The research method used is Single Subject Research with a Multiple Baseline Cross Variable design. The intervention involved video-based modelling of correct phoneme pronunciation and learning folder assistance that was used to help children learn the various types of spelling commonly found from Indonesian phonograms. The results revealed that video-based modelling with the help of folder-learning could be effectively used to improve the speech intelligibility of mentally disabled children. The use of songs in videos and the opportunity for children to write and delete in the learning folder become its main attraction in learning.[Anak tunagrahita sering mengalami ketidakjelasan berbicara berupa omisi (pengurangan kata) maupun distorsi (kekacauan dalam pengucapan). Hal ini biasanya disebabkan oleh keterbatasan kemampuan mereka dalam memahami kata-kata. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menjelaskan efektifitas pemodelan berbasis video dengan bantuan folder-belajar dalam meningkatkan kejelasan bicara anak tunagrahita. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Single Subject Research dengan desain Multipe Baseline Cross Variable. Intervensi melibatkan sebuah pemodelan berbasis video tentang pengucapan fonem yang benar dan bantuan folder-belajar yang digunakan untuk membantu anak mempelajari berbagai macam ejaan yang umum ditemukan dari fonogram Bahasa Indonesia. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa pemodelan berbasis video dengan bantuan folder-belajar dapat secara efektif digunakan untuk meningkatkan kejelasan berbicara anak tunagrahita. Penggunaan lagu pada video dan kesempatan anak untuk menulis serta menghapus dalam folder belajar menjadi daya tarik tersendiri dalam pembelajaran.]
