This study aims to assess the accessibility of chemistry learning in high school from the perspective of students with disabilities. The research involved three student participants and students with disabilities, as well as chemistry teachers as participants. Data is collected by a non-structured in-depth interview. The data obtained were then processed using data reduction techniques, data exposure, and concluding. The results showed that students with disabilities have a reasonably good perspective on learning chemistry in high school. According to students with disabilities, studying chemistry in high school is easy if the learning environment is supportive and the learning process is accessible. Research also shows that some aspects of chemistry learning in high school are accessible.[Penelitian ini bertujuan menilai aksesibilitas pembelajaran kimia di SMA menurut perspektif siswa difabel. Penelitian melibatkan tiga peserta siswa dan mahasiswa difabel, serta guru kimia sebagai partisipan. Data diperoleh dengan wawancara mendalam yang tidak terstruktur. Data yang diperoleh kemudian diolah dengan menggunakan teknik reduksi data, pemaparan data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa peserta didik dan mahasiswa difabel memiliki perspektif yang cukup baik terhadap pembelajaran kimia di SMA. Menurut para difabel, belajar kimia di SMA itu mudah apabila lingkungan belajarnya mendukung dan adanya pemenuhan aksesibilitas dalam pembelajaran. Blind students who study in inclusive schools experience difficulties in accessing science learning and materials. This study is a research and development. It aims to test the effectiveness of The Encyclopedia of Integrated Science-Alquran for Students with Visual Impairments, a development research product from previous Developmental Research Step 1. This product is Developmental Research Step 2, which adapts Borg and Gall's procedural model. Two separated classes in two provinces, DIY and Lombok, were randomly selected as the pre-test and post-test samples. To see the encyclopedia's effectiveness, further analysis of the pre-test and post-test was carried out to look for N-Gain. The study concluded that the student learning outcomes obtained through the N-Gain analysis showed an average increase of 0.43, which is in the medium criteria.[Siswa tunanetra yang menempuh pendidikan di Sekolah Penyelenggara Pendidikan Inklusif sering mengalami kesulitan dalam mengakses pembelajaran dan materi IPA. Studi ini merupakan Developmental Research. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas produk penelitian pengembangan, “Ensiklopedia IPA terintegrasi Alquran untuk Siswa Tunanetra”. Sebagai lanjutan dari Developmental Research Step 1, penelitian ini merupakan Developmental Research Step 2 yang mengadaptasi model prosedural Borg and Gall. Dua kelompok kelas (di dua provinsi, DIY dan Lombok) dipilih secara acak sebagai sampel uji pre-test dan post-test. Untuk melihat efektivitas Ensiklopedia, analisis lanjutan dari pre-test dan post-test dilakukan untuk mencari N-Gain. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa hasil belajar siswa yang diperoleh melalui analisis N-Gain menunjukkan rata-rata kenaikan sebesar 0,43, berada pada kriteria sedang]

The inclusion of the ’physically healthy’ requirement in recruiting job vacancies has led to various interpretations. This practice has been going on for a long time and often violates persons with disabilities' rights to obtain equal employment opportunities. This study aims to analyze the interpretation of physical health requirements in the recruitment of job vacancies. Sources of research data are employers, disabled workers, and the Yogyakarta Provincial Government. Researchers analyzed legal norms and qualitative data, then presented descriptively. The study concluded that there had not been one interpretation from the employer, disabled workers, and the government about ‘being physically healthy.’ The term is often interpreted as ‘being physically complete.’ This biased interpretation discriminates against disabled workers entering the workforce.[Keberadaan syarat ‘sehat jasmani’ dalam rekrutmen lowongan kerja menimbulkan berbagai penafsiran, khususnya bagi tenaga kerja difabel. Praktik ini sudah berlangsung lama dan melanggar hak difabel untuk memperoleh kesempatan yang setara dalam lapangan pekerjaan. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis penafsiran syarat sehat jasmani dalam rekrutmen lowongan kerja. Sumber data penelitian adalah pihak pemberi kerja, tenaga kerja difabel, dan Pemerintah Provinsi Yogyakarta. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menganalisis norma hukum dan data kualitatif, kemudian disajikan secara deskriptif. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa belum ada kesatuan penafsiran dari pihak pemberi kerja, tenaga kerja difabel, dan pemerintah tentang kriteria sehat jasmani. Syarat sehat jasmani sering diartikan sebagai fisik yang lengkap. Hal mendiskriminasi tenaga kerja difabel dalam memasuki lapangan pekerjaan.]

The Covid-19 pandemic has forced the government to implement various new policies to prevent the spread of the virus, including online learning policies in the education sector. The application of online learning requires an adaptation period for all parties involved, especially students with disabilities. The pandemic affects the psychological condition of students with disabilities. This study seeks to explain the coping strategies used by students with disabilities in the final semester at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta in completing their thesis. This research is qualitative descriptive research by taking the research subject of two students with disabilities. Data were collected using in-depth online interviews. The results showed that the strategy used to overcome the problem was problem-focused and emotion-focused coping strategies.[Pandemi Covid-19 membuat pemerintah menerapkan berbagai kebijakan baru untuk mencegah penyebaran virus, termasuk kebijakan pembelajaran daring dalam bidang pendidikan. Penerapan pembelajaran daring membutuhkan periode adaptasi bagi semua pihak yang terlibat, terutama mahasiswa difabel. Pandemi mempengaruhi kondisi psikologis mahasiswa dengan disabilitas. Penelitian ini berupaya menjelaskan strategi coping yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa difabel semester akhir di UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta dalam menyelesaikan skripsi mereka. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan mengambil subjek penelitian dua orang mahasiswa difabel. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam secara daring. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi yang digunakan untuk mengatasi permasalahan adalah dengan menggunakan strategi problem-focused coping dan emotion-focused coping.]

Although Higher Education Institutions have come a long way in including students with disabilities, many students still experience exclusion or "otherness" among their abled peers. Currently, there is a gap in research where the focus is on the abilities and success stories of such individuals rather than their disabilities, the barriers they face, or the adjustments made to meet their needs. This research aims to share the success stories of a visually impaired student and his visually impaired lecturer at a South African University. Semi-structured, in-depth individual interviews were used as collection instruments where after the data was analyzed. The appreciation for friends outweighed the physical barriers. Through perseverance and hard work, the disabled student proved her teacher wrong by successfully entering university and completing her Ph.D.. Both participants looked beyond their limitations and realized their capabilities.[Meskipun usaha untuk mewujudkan perguruan tinggi inklusif sudah dilakukan sejauh ini, tetapi banyak mahasiswa difabel yang masih merasakan ‘keberbedaan’ dirinya dari mahasiswa lain. Inklusi penyandang disabilitas harus mengarah pada peningkatan partisipasi dalam tatanan yang menghasilkan siswa, teman, atau guru terbaik. Saat ini, ada kesenjangan dalam penelitian yang fokusnya adalah pada kemampuan dan kisah sukses individu tersebut daripada disabilitas mereka, hambatan yang mereka hadapi, atau penyesuaian yang dilakukan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan mereka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk berbagi kisah sukses seorang mahasiswa tunanetra sekaligus dosen tunanetranya di Universitas Afrika Selatan. The web-based Academic Monitoring System for Students with Disabilities is a software development that aims to monitor the academic activities of students with disabilities. This development needs to be done because the average Grade Point Average (GPA) of students with disabilities is often below the average GPA of their class. This system was developed using the R&D method with a prototyping approach. Based on testing with black box techniques that have been carried out, this system shows the accuracy of success, with feature suitability and user acceptance of the system by 100%. In conclusion, this system can be used as a software tool to monitor the academic activities of students with disabilities.[Sistem Monitoring Akademik bagi Mahasiswa Difabel berbasis web merupakan sebuah pengembangan software yang bertujuan untuk melakukan monitoring kegiatan akademik para mahasiswa penyandang disabilitas. Pengembangan ini perlu dilakukan karena rerata Indeks Prestasi Kumulatif (IPK) mahasiswa penyandang disabilitas sering kali di bawah rerata IPK seangkatan. Sistem ini dikembangkan dengan metode R&D dengan pendekatan prototyping. Berdasar pengujian dengan teknik black box yang telah dilakukan, sistem ini menunjukkan tingkat akurasi keberhasilan, dengan kesesuaian fitur dan penerimaan user terhadap sistem sebesar 100%. Kesimpulannya, sistem ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai perangkat lunak bantu untuk melakukan monitoring terhadap proses kegiatan akademik para mahasiswa difabel.]

UNICEF states that adolescents with disabilities are three or four times more likely to be victims of violence than adolescents in general. This study aims to describe the knowledge and attitudes of young women with disabilities about preventing violence against young women. Based on the case in the city of Bandung, this study uses a descriptive cross-sectional approach. The research sample was all young women with disabilities in the city of Bandung. A total sampling technique brings 72 respondents as the research subjects, where the data collected by interview. The results showed that 45.8% of respondents were in the "less" category, while 59.7% were negative. The research concludes that there are still young women with disabilities who lack knowledge and have negative attitudes.[UNICEF menyatakan bahwa remaja penyandang disabilitas tiga atau empat kali lebih besar menjadi korban kekerasan dibandingkan remaja pada umumnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan dan sikap remaja putri penyandang disabilitas tentang pencegahan kekerasan terhadap remaja putri di Kota Bandung. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian adalah semua remaja putri penyandang disabilitas di Kota Bandung. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan teknik total sampling dengan responden berjumlah 72 orang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 45,8% responden termasuk dalam kategori “kurang”, sedangkan 59,7% tergolong dalam kategori negatif. Penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa masih terdapat remaja putri difabel yang berpengetahuan kurang disertai sikap yang negatif.]

Mastering Indonesian language for all students is important despite the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on students' conditions and government provisions related to the pandemic, the teachers need a form of adaptation in the Indonesian language learning for students with disabilities in inclusive schools. This qualitative research finds adaptations of Indonesian language learning for students with special needs in twelve inclusive schools in five Yogyakarta's districts during the Covid-19 pandemic. Using a purposive sampling, 15 classroom teachers and special education staff were selected as key informants. Data was collected by interview, documentation, and literature study. Learning adaptation based on the conditions of the students' abilities emphasizes the modification and accommodation of learning strategies that include material, methods, media, and evaluation.[Pandemi Covid-19 tidak mengubah pentingnya kompetensi Bahasa Indonesia sebagai kemampuan akademik dasar bagi semua siswa. Berdasarkan keragaman kondisi siswa difabel dan ketentuan pemerintah terkait pandemi, guru perlu melakukan adaptasi pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di sekolah inklusif. Penelitian kualitatif ini menemukan berbagai bentuk adaptasi pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia bagi siswa difabel khusus di sekolah inklusif di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) pada masa pandemi Covid-19. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adaptasi pembelajaran mencakup materi, metode, media, dan evaluasi. Adaptasi pembelajaran dalam situasi pandemi Covid-19 ialah pelaksanaan pembelajaran dari rumah dengan penerapan strategi pembelajaran kontekstual yang menggunakan teknologi sebagai media interaksi dan konten materi.]

This study aims to explore the policies of the Dutch colonial government towards people with disabilities. Nowadays, the practice of medicalization of disability remains being carried out, and it causes many losses. This paper explores the historical roots of the problem: why did disability medicalization occur and how? Historiographical studies on disability during the colonial period were still minimal. For this reason, the researcher uses historical research methods (heuristics, source criticism, and interpretation) in this article. This study found that the medicalization of the disability started in 1619 in military hospitals. It was then continued with the establishment of the first mental hospital in 1882 in Bogor. The practice of medicalization of disability carried out by the colonial authorities served as a means of social control.[Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi kebijakan pemerintah kolonial Belanda terhadap difabel. Dewasa ini praktik medikalisasi disabilitas masih dilakukan dan banyak menyebabkan kerugian. Penelitian menelusuri akar historis masalah tersebut: mengapa medikalisasi disabilitas terjadi dan bagaimana? Studi historiografi tentang disabilitas pada masa kolonial masih sangat terbatas. Untuk itu, peneliti menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah (heuristik, kritik sumber, dan interpretasi) dalam artikel ini. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa medikalisasi terhadap difabel telah dilakukan sejak tahun 1619 di rumah sakit militer. Kemudian dilanjutkan dengan didirikannya rumah sakit jiwa pertama pada 1882 di Bogor. Praktik medikalisasi disabilitas dilakukan oleh penguasa saat itu berfungsi sebagai alat kontrol sosial di masyarakat.]
