Abstract

Although there is no fixed definition for digital maturity, it can be concluded that digital maturity refers to the ability of an organization to use digital technology effectively and efficiently in achieving its strategic goals. This research proposes a new framework to assess the digital maturity of local governments called the Digital Maturity Model for Local Governments in Indonesia (DMM-LGI). The framework has two main dimensions, namely technology adoption and organizational readiness. This research method uses a mixed approach, combining quantitative and qualitative research methods. The research process begins with a literature review from scopus-indexed journals, followed by the formulation of a digital maturity framework, measuring the level of digital maturity, identifying a certain level, and providing recommendations for further digital transformation. The results showed that the digital maturity of the local government of Karanganyar regency was at the level of average digitalization, where the main obstacle was that there were limitations in aspects of adequate and quality human resources (HR). In addition, the excessive number of applications and information systems poses new problems, especially related to integration and interoperability. The suggestion for future research is that the concept of digital maturity is dynamic, nothing is fixed and will continue to evolve as science and technology advance

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of community empowerment through social entrepreneurship. This study employs previous research sources as references in its analysis and review process and then uses VosViewer to create a concept map or mapping of commonly studied themes. This study employs an article analysis method that utilizes VosViewer. The process involves gathering articles from previous studies, indexed in the Scopus database, which closely aligns with the research topic of community empowerment through social entrepreneurship. Once we have collected these articles, we will conduct an analysis using VosViewer, which facilitates concept mapping through network and density analyses. This study highlights community empowerment's significance in improving social conditions. The study focuses on the economy, community welfare, and addressing the current challenges and social constraints. The limitations of this study are the lack of previous research or reference sources that study social entrepreneurs specifically and in detail. Several previous research results, which very minimally examine the concept of social entrepreneurship as a means of community empowerment, bear this out.

Work complete of risks and exposure to health hazards does not prevent them from continuing their activities, and the actions taken become women's existence in meeting the economic needs of their families. This study is a qualitative study designed to describe the role of female workers in meeting household needs. The research locations are Karang Jaya Village, Namlea Market, and Namlea Terminal, considering the scope of the informant's activities. The analysis technique used is based on the concept of Miles and Huberman, which states that qualitative data analysis must be carried out interactively and continuously. The study results indicate that female workers are the central pillar in household livelihoods, and efforts to meet household needs are prioritized over physical strength without considering its health risks. In addition, to cover the shortage of needs, female workers work outside their primary jobs, such as cleaning shops, providing cleaning services, and processing agricultural products. Recommendations for stakeholders in efforts to improve the welfare of women who carry goods in the Namlea market include providing access to affordable health insurance, adequate rest facilities in the workplace, and micro-business capital assistance to increase household income.

Abstract

This research examines effective strategies applied by volunteers in facing challenges to build sustainable communities based on civic engagement. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, this research explores the in-depth experiences of volunteers involved in handling waste issues in Malang City. Data were collected through field observations, in-depth interviews, and documentation, which were systematically analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that close collaboration with various stakeholders, including the government and local organizations, is key to expanding support and increasing the impact of activities. Regular internal education enhances volunteer capacity, while public campaigns and advocacy drive community awareness and policy change. Community solidarity and emotional support between volunteers play an important role in maintaining collective motivation. Other strategies include flexible time management, task delegation, and utilizing creativity in managing limited resources. Self-management is also crucial in dealing with internal challenges such as social pressure and personal expectations. Volunteers who are able to manage their emotions and stay focused on the organization's vision show higher consistency in action. This research offers practical guidance for social organizations in improving the efficiency and impact of their activities, while contributing to the academic literature on volunteer dynamics in building sustainable communities. The findings underscore the importance of innovation, collaboration and civic engagement-based approaches as a foundation for addressing increasingly complex social and environmental challenges

Abstract

This study examines the innovative culinary-inspired policy branding strategy employed by the Ridwan Kamil-Suswono (RIDO) campaign in Jakarta’s 2024 gubernatorial race. Using food-related acronyms for their flagship programs, RIDO aimed to make complex policy ideas more accessible and memorable to Jakarta’s voters. The study analyzes eight creative program names, each forming an acronym of a popular Indonesian dish, designed to capture attention and create positive associations with RIDO’s policy agenda. This approach simplifies policy communication and fosters a sense of local pride and cultural identity. The study explores how this strategy reflects an understanding of Jakarta’s multicultural fabric and may help the campaign appeal to diverse communities. Furthermore, it investigates how this culinary branding serves as a unique form of political communication, potentially increasing voter engagement and recall of key campaign promises. The study considers the effectiveness of this approach in the context of Jakarta’s reputation as a culinary hub and evaluates its potential impact on voter perceptions and campaign success.

The research method used is qualitative descriptive research. Data collection techniques use interviews, observation and documentation. The technique for determining informants is purposive sampling analysis and snowball sampling. The data analysis technique uses interactive model data analysis developed by Miles Huberman, namely Data Collection, Data Condensation, Data Presentation, and Conclusion Drawing and Verification, according to the research focus based on policy implementation theory according to Charles O Jones with three indicators, (1) Organization (2) Interpretation (3) Application. The results of the research are, (1) the organization, policy implementers understand what they are doing in accordance with their main duties and functions, (2) Interpretation, policy implementers refer to related regulations, namely Minister of Social Affairs regulation number 1 of 2018, and guidelines for implementing the Family Hope Program. Abstract

Although industrial harmony is essential for achieving academic excellence and maintaining a productive educational system in Nigeria, incidents of industrial disharmony in tertiary institutions have become increasingly frequent, intense, widespread, and prolonged. In light of this, the study investigated the causal relationship between industrial disharmony and employee performance in selected tertiary institutions in Delta and Edo States. Utilizing a cross-sectional research design, the study employed a structured survey instrument to collect data from a sample of 243 employees, randomly selected from Delta State University, Abraka; University of Benin, Benin City; Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara; Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi; Delta State College of Education, Warri; and the College of Education, Igueben, Edo State. The research was grounded in the industrial relations system theory, which provides an analytical framework for understanding a broad range of industrial relations practices and phenomena. Six hypotheses were tested at a 0.05 level of significance, with data analysis conducted using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS, version 23.0, 2020). Pearson’s correlation coefficient and linear regression analysis were used to test the hypotheses. The findings revealed that poor implementation of promotion policies significantly increased grievance frequency; non-implementation of agreements significantly heightened the occurrence of strike actions; union leaders’ integrity had a significant positive impact on employee welfare; and industrial union strikes significantly contributed to poor employee performance in tertiary institutions in Delta and Edo States. The study concluded that industrial harmony positively and significantly affects employee performance in these institutions. Among the recommendations, the study emphasized the importance of sincere engagement between tertiary institutions and workers’ unions through collective bargaining. This approach would help workers better understand the challenges and constraints faced in addressing their demands. Moreover, fostering a harmonious work environment relies more on mutual understanding between unions and institutional management rather than on fully satisfying the demands of both parties, which may not always be feasible.
