Abstract

This research aims to analyze community empowerment through the Village-Owned Enterprise "Bareng Lestari" in Bareng Village, Sawahan Subdistrict, Nganjuk Regency. The type of this research is qualitative-descriptive research with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation. The theory applied in this study is the 5P community empowerment approach, namely enabling, strengthening, protecting, supporting, and maintaining. The results of this research indicate that the community becomes empowered after the establishment of the village-owned enterprise (BUMDES) "Bareng Lestari", yet, this has not been achieved maximally. Out of the 5 indicators, 3 of them have been successfully achieved, including Strengthening, carried out by amplifying the BUMDES internally and externally by providing socialization and counseling for the community in Bareng Village; Supporting, can be seen from the existence of strong partnership networks, marketing of local products and processed products, as well as subsidized fertilizers;and Maintaining, carried out in all aspects including physical maintenance and the maintenance carried out in all fields starting from quality, existence, business units and programs, as well as partnership networks, thus the empowerment can be sustainable. Meanwhile, the other 2 indicators that have not been achieved maximally are including Enabling, where the BUMDES "Bareng Lestari" has not been able to create good possibilities or atmospheres that allow the community to develop optimally, because in fact, there are still many barriers between communities which make it difficult for the weak communities to develop; and Protecting, which is not optimal because there are still unachieved work programs due to the lack of participation from the community.

Abstract

One detrimental consequence of the automotive industry's excessive production is the accumulation of end-of-life vehicles (ELV). ELV ought to be disposed of via a waste recycling system. As a result, the automotive sector bears a substantial obligation with regard to ELV. Hyundai is one of the automotive industries that has managed ELV effectively. The YouTube advertisement for the Hyundai Re:Style Presents 2020 model illustrates this. Hyundai's collaboration with fashion designers to recycle automobile byproducts including leather, airbags, seat belts, and glass is featured in the advertisement. They create fashion items from waste, including jewelry, denim jumpsuits, work vests, corsets, and tote bags. Researchers are intrigued by the pursuit of investigating the significance of the sign representation, the object, and the interpretant, as well as the implications of advertising within the framework of green marketing theory. To achieve this aim, the semiotic theory of Charles Sanders Peirce was employed by featuring a triadic model comprising an object, representation, and interpretant. Additionally, Sinh's green marketing framework was incorporated, comprising a green place, green product, green price, and green promotion. Consequently, A qualitative research based on Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotics was used. The results shows that the signs, objects, and interpretants in Hyundai advertisements show the meaning of green marketing.

Abstract

The number of sexual violence cases against women in Indonesia almost reached 9,000 cases from January to November 2021. This number is increasing every year as protection against victims, whom predominantly are women, remains weak. All this time, social stigma has labeled women as victims since they are weak and easily oppressed. However, the reality of sexual violence does not only affect women but also men, who have long been regarded as the ruling group. In the Penyalin Cahaya movie, the issue of sexual violence is packed with different perspectives. The image of women as victims, who have been portrayed as a second class, weak, and confined group, is not seen in this film. Conversely, men as victims choose to shut up and surrender. This research aims to reveal the representation of sexual violence victims experienced by men and women using the framework of the Feminist Stylistics Approach/FSA developed by Sara Mills. The research body consists of scenes depicting (1) forms of sexual violence, (2) the social narrative of the victims and power relations in handling cases of sexual violence in academic environments, and (3) the representation of victims who choose to remain silent to stay accepted by the society. The documentation techniques were used to look more deeply into the positions and actions taken by the victims to fight the stigma caused by sexual violence. The research results show (1) the negation against male victims of sexual violence, (2) that women’s appearance still becomes the main reason for her to be harassed and (3) academic institutions are weak in dealing with sexual violence cases.

Abstract

Autonomous vehicles are now a unique and modern new trend in the development of public transport. Its application in various countries such as China, South Korea, Germany, and the United States is interesting to study from policy to implementation. Indonesia also has a great opportunity to develop autonomous vehicles to reach level 3 to 5, considering that the New Capital City (IKN) also has plans to use Integrated Transport System (ITS) and autonomous vehicles as public transport in the future. However, challenges and obstacles such as road facilities, cybersecurity threats, and public indiscipline can be a barrier to the implementation of autonomous vehicles in Indonesia. Therefore, this article aims to take a deeper look into the needs that Indonesia needs to make a policy on autonomous vehicles as public transport in the future.

Abstract

This article highlights the strategies employed by the General Election Commission (KPU) to address the issue of double data that emerged during the registration process of the 2024 General Election participants in Mojokerto City. This issue stems from the ineffectiveness of the Political Party Information System (SIPOL), evidenced by thousands of double data on party membership. Double data issues can pose a severe threat to the integrity of democratic elections. Hence, this research focuses on the KPU's efforts or strategies to maintain the accuracy and reliability of data. The formulation of these strategies prioritizes the implementation of the Electoral Governance Theory, with the primary focus on analyzing and finding solutions to existing issues. This research applied a qualitative approach with a case study model. Data was collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The results of this research indicate that based on Decree No. 260 of 2022, KPU has conducted Administrative Verification to identify potential cases of dual memberships and ineligible memberships. This process involves four main stages, including registration, administrative verification, factual verification, and determination. This research also aims to discover the issues faced by the General Election Commission (KPU) of Mojokerto City during the verification process.

Abstract

Women are included in the list of vulnerable victims of disaster due to their lack of skills and lower physical strength than men. The role of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) as a communicator or messenger is required in the efforts to increase disaster awareness and information among women's community. This urgency is supported by the condition of the area which has a high risk of disaster as well as the fact that the total female population outnumbers the males. This research aims to find out how the BPBD of Bantul Regency uses social media to promote disaster awareness and information to the women's community. In the digital era, social media is considered capable of channeling messages more widely to reach underserved communities. This research used a qualitative method with a case study approach. The research results show that the BPBD of Bantul Regency have made some efforts to increase disaster awareness and information among women's community by involving direct participation. In carrying out the role, the communicator has a structured information delivery and processing chain by involving Pusdalops (the Operational Control Center) and teams from each field. This results in messages wrapped in the form of social media content, even though the disaster narrative does not yet represent efforts to increase disaster awareness and information for women's community. The target of this social media communication is the general public, both men and women. The existence of a structured information delivery and processing chain as well as mastered materials can make the messages reach the women's community. The researchers propose an alternative model for disaster communication through social media as an effort to increase disaster awareness and information among women's community without changing existing disaster information communication patterns. The researchers propose this model to fill the gap in the role of teams in each field who should have knowledge capacity related to the disaster awareness and information among women's community

Abstract

Mining potential in Maluku Province is the largest contributor to nickel mining in Indonesia with nickel reserves of 39% and copper of 92.48% of the national total. Even though nickel and copper are potential resources in this region, they do not yet have production results that have added value and are highly competitive. Now various investors from China are investing in North Maluku with the above potential mining resources. In fact, China is now interested in building a nickel factory in North Maluku, specifically in North Halmahera. The issuance of Law Number 3 of 2020 concerning Amendments to Law Number 4 of 2009 concerning Mineral and Coal Mining is a transformation of mineral and coal policy relating to the management and utilization of mineral and coal in Indonesia. The consequence of the amendment to Law Number 4 of 2009, namely the elimination of regional government authority over the management of mineral and coal mining, was taken over by the central government, which applies nationally. The method used in this research is the Hybrid Method as an applied method. The limitation of this research is that it does not technically examine the ecological, economic and social modeling of mining studies in North Maluku. The recommendation of this research is that further in-depth review is needed from a legal, social, ecological and economic perspective to map and review Law No. 3 of 2020, the formation of a cross-sectoral task force to monitor the impact of the implementation of Law No. 3 of 2020 on the environmental and social sectors. and economics.

Abstract

The Tuban District Population and Civil Registration Office (Dispendukcapil) has an obligation under the law to organize population administration services as an integral part of public services that must be accounted for by the government to the community. However, a number of obstacles are still faced in the administration of civil registration services. The purpose of this research is to investigate and describe strategies that can be applied to improve civil registration services at the Tuban District Dispendukcapil. The research method used was a qualitative approach using a case study. Three data collection techniques were used: documentation, observation and interviews. A purposive and snowball approach was used to identify relevant informants. The data analysis process followed an interactive approach, with the stages of Data Collection, Data Condensation, Data Display, and Conclusion Drawing and Verification, developed by Miles Huberman. This research, which adopted Moenir's theoretical framework, produced several findings, including that 1) the awareness of officials and executive leaders regarding the problem has made significant progress; 2) The process of making adequate regulations has run quite smoothly, but in terms of SOPs, the completion it is still not ideal; 3) Although the organization has a dynamic system mechanism, there are still shortcomings in socialization to the community; 4) The competencies and talents required for a job or position have been applied, and everything is going well; and 5) Service facilities are available in accordance with the nature and format of service tasks, but the‘ball pick-up’ services still need to be improved.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the growing trend among various entities, including government organizations and private companies, in using social media platforms for communication strategies within the overall organizational environment. This phenomenon is widely regarded as a favourable development due to the inherent openness of the Web 2.0 environment, which allows for the dissemination of information and the facilitation of active engagement, discourse, and the creation of online communities. Nevertheless, the optimistic perspective on the advantages of social media communication in organizations ignores potential conflicts between the principles of openness associated with Web 2.0 and organizational management strategies and practices. This research aims to investigate the utilization of social media by several organizations in Indonesia. A qualitative approach was applied to generate the research findings by conducting in-depth interviews with informants from the research object and various social media specialists. These interviews aimed to explore methods for resolving conflicts between the nature of social media and organizations' strategic and managerial aspects. Specifically, this research focuses on addressing conflicts related to control and governance. The research results suggest a potential path for further exploration in the field of public communication, particularly in aligning organizational goals with the needs of online communities.
