Abstract

This article investigates how the teacher use direct method in teaching speaking, how the students encountered speaking, and found out how the students performed their activeness and creativeness on speaking activities by using direct method. This research was classroom action research (CAR) which used research design of the spiral model by Kemmis and Teggart (1988). It consisted of four Phases in one cycle; they are Planning, acting, observation and reflecting. This reserach contained three cycles in which each cycle consisted three meetings. The first of which was to find if any problems and difficulties face by the students and then made some revisions. The second cycle was to implement the revised plan and find out if still any problems. In the teaching and learning hoffully in the third cycle the students and the teacher did not find any difficulties faced the students anymore during the teaching and learning activilties. While we are teaching and learning process followed the steps direct method. They are showing some pictures to students, asking some questions to students. Answering some questions from teacher and asking some questions to their friend or their teacher. The subject of the study is the students of class 8E MTs Negeri 2 Kota Jambi. The data were collected based on the teacher’s note and students’ diaries supported by recording in each meeting on each cycle. The teacher designed some activities, done by students adjusted to the five steps in direct method and the activities made students more active and creative and involved in the learning process. The students also followed all the scenerios of learning process and they were more active and creative during teaching and learning process. However, the students still faced difficulties to make creative answering and questioning. The teacher made some revisions in each cycle. The class atmospieres showed that alive, all of studentts active to speak to ask and aswering questions in their group based on the pictures showed.

Water is a very important component in supporting life. Water conditions in the country is currently experiencing a lot of problems . Along with the increasing growth in the number of human increasing water demand, while water availability decreases. Adiwiyata Award-Winning School is a school that is considered successful in creating the management and conservation of the environment in terms of one aspect of saving water resources in the school. The aims of research are (i) to determine the efforts made to conserve water consumption in school, (ii) to knowing the water management system and water balanc , and (iii) the factors that influence the success of water conservation programs in schools. The method used is a mix between qualitative and quantitative method . Qualitative methods are used to determine school policy to conserve water consumption , and water management systems in schools . Quantitative methods are used to determine the water balance and the factors that influence the success of water conservation programs in school. The results showed in an effort to conserve water consumption in schools developed policies based management and environmental conservation contained in the vision, mission , goals and objectives of the program , funding policies and programs in policy development RAKS for water-saving infrastructure. Water management system prepared through a phase of water conservation programs, planning activities and implementation of water conservation, the school has not made the of the evaluation phase of the program . Water balance at SMP 28 obtained the consumption of water used is still below with SNI standard The largest volume of water consumption is used for activities wudhu , urination and hand washing. Savings occur from the use of waste water from wash hands and wudhu, thereby reducing water consumption in school..

Abstract

Rice fields, especially rice straw, is one part of the agricultural sector that contributes to global warming. It is estimated that about 1% of global warming comes from rice fields. One of the efforts that can be done in reducing the contribution of paddy fields is to utilize the remaining harvest in the form of rice straw as animal feed. However, the utilization of rice straw is constrained by its low nutritional value. Therefore it is necessary to carry out ammonia to improve its quality. This study was conducted to determine the potential of rice straw to produce methane gas and to improve its quality using ammonia technology as ruminant feed. This study used a completely randomized design with four urea levels (0, 2, 4, 6% w/w) and six replications. The variables measured were gas production, methane production, total volatile fatty acids (TVFA), metabolic energy (ME), dry matter digestibility (DMD), and organic matter digestibility (OMD). The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance, and differences between means using Duncan's multiple range test with a confidence level of P <0.05. The results of the calculation of the production of methane (CH4) and carbon dioxide (CO2) from rice straw in Jambi Province in 2021 reached 9,024 Gg CH4 per year and Carbon 3362,167 per year. The results of ammonium hay showed that urea level had a significant effect (P<0.05) on total gas production, gas production of CH4, DMD, OMD, TVFA, and ME. The ammoniated rice straw with urea level up to 4% was the best treatment for total gas production, CH4, TVFA, and ME production. The results of the study concluded that ammoniated rice straw with 4% urea content was the best treatment to improve the quality of rice straw as ruminant feed.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the gastropod community in the Cilacap Segara Anakan Mangrove Forest. The research was conducted in July-September in the Cilacap Segara Anakan Mangrove Forest. This study uses a survey method, sampling is carried out 3 times in July-September 2021. The sampling method is purposive random sampling. There are 3 observation stations, station 1 in the east, station 2 in the middle and station 3 in the west of the Cilacap Segara Anakan Mangrove Forest. The results of this study were 17 species and divided into 7 families, namely Potamididae, Neritidae, Littorinidae, Muricidae, Ellobiidae, Thiaridae, Assimineidae. Diversity (H') ranges from 0.45-1.06, which means that the level of diversity is in the low to medium category. High gastropod abundance was found at station 3, which was 747 individuals with 12 species. Dominance (C) with the highest index value of 0.76 which means that the level of dominance of gastropods is high and there is a dominant gastropod species, namely Melanoides tuberulata and the lowest index value of 0.36 which means that the level of dominance of gastropods is low, there is no dominant gastropod.

Abstract

This paper discusses the Jambi kingdom and its existence as a country located in international trade routes. This is interesting to study because its growth period coincided with the entry and development of Islam in the archipelago. Thus, this paper examines the influence of Islam on the Jambi Kingdom. By using a multi-dimensional approach and supported by the application of historical methods that refer to scientific history research procedures, the results of this study are expected to provide an explanation of the main problems proposed and so contribute to the development of science, especially about Jambi's local history. In addition, it can be used as material for consideration by related institutions in the context of preserving historical and cultural values and for regional development and development. The results showed that the Jambi kingdom was one of the archipelago's kingdoms that existed from the end of the 15th century to the early 20th century. This kingdom has received the influence of Islam since its inception.
