Acta Aquatica: Aquatic Sciences Journal is a scientific open access journal in the field of aquatic sciences, published periodically (April and October) by the Institute of Research and Community Service (LPPM) Universitas Malikussaleh (Malikussaleh University) in cooperation with Marine Center Universitas Malikussaleh, Department of Aquaculture Universitas Malikussaleh and Department of Marine Science Universitas Malikussaleh. Acta aquatica are publish original research, overviews and reviews relating to aquatic environments (wetlands, freshwater and marine waters) and the border limits of these environmental systems and the impacts of human activities on the environmental systems. Acta Aquatica has a related studies in aquatic bioecology, aquaculture, hydrology, biodiversity of aquatic biosphere, oceanology, exploitation and exploration technology of aquatic resources, fisheries product technology, aquatic microbiology, aquatic modeling, aquatic geographic information systems, and socio-economic of aquatic resources.

Abstract

Milkfish has a high market demand, the existence of consumption milkfish is influenced by the success of the nursery. This study aims to determine the effect of feeding different feeding methods on milkfish to milkfish. The research was carried out from September to October 2020 at the Hatchery and Aquaculture Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Malikussaleh University. The experimental research method used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely A: Control (given daily feed), B: 1 day of fasting, 3 days of feeding, C: 2 days of fasting, 2 days of feeding feed, D: 3 days of fasting, 1 day of feed. The results showed that the feeding method of fasting was different with the best treatment found in treatment B, namely 1 day fasting, 3 days of feeding. Behavior, increased appetite, normal movement and normal metabolism, daily feed consumption of 1.23 grams, total feed consumption of 39.26 grams, length growth of 2.03 cm, weight growth of 3.06 grams, feed efficiency of 73.96%, Feed conversion was 1.35 and had a significant effect on survival, with treatment A having the highest survival, namely 87%.Keywords: Efficiency, Fasting, Feed, Growth, Milkfish

Abstract

Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode ekperimental dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) Non Faktorial dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan yaitu perlakuan A: formulasi pakan pelet dengan penambahan tepung ikan, dedak padi, dan tepung cacing tanah, perlakuan B: formulasi pakan pelet dengan penambahan Tepung ikan, dedak padi, dan tepung bekicot, perlakuan C: formulasi pakan pelet dengan penambahan tepung ikan, dedak padi, dan tepung keong mas dan perlakuan D: formulasi pakan pelet dengan penambahan tepung ikan dan dedak padi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ketiga bahan baku tersebut cocok ditambahkan ke dalam pakan pellet karena mengandung kadar protein yang tinggi sesuai untuk pertumbuhan ikan, protein yang paling tinggi terdapat pada perlakuan A (38,4%) dengan formulasi tepung ikan, dedak padi dan tepung cacing tanah, Kemudian diikuti perlakuan B (37,49%) dengan formulasi tepung ikan, dedak padi dan tepung bekicot, Selanjutnya perlakuan C (33,35%) formulasi tepung ikan, dedak padi dan tepung keong mas, dan terakhir perlakuan D (30,41%) formulasi pakan pelet dengan penambahan tepung ikan dan dedak padi.The method used in this study was experimental method using a completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial with four treatments and three replications namely treatment A: formulation of pellet with addition of fish meal, rice bran, and flour earthworms, treatment B: formulation of pellet with addition of fish meal, rice bran, and flour snail, treatment C: formulation of pellet with addition of fish meal, rice bran, and snails and treatment D: formulation of pellet with addition of fish meal and rice bran. Based on the results, three feedstuffs were suitable to be added into pellet feed because their high protein content for growth of fish. The highest protein content was gained at treatment A (38.4%) with formulation of fish meal, rice bran and flour earthworms, then it was followed by treatment B (37.49%) with formulation of fish meal, rice bran and flour snail, Further treatment C (33.35%) with formulation  of fish meal, rice bran and snails. While the lowest treatment was D (30.41% ) with formulation of fish meal and rice bran.

Abstract

AbstrakIkan gurami merupakan ikan yang memiliki tingkat minat konsumsi tinggi, namun pertumbuhannya lambat. Upaya peningkatan produksi gurami (Osphronemus gouramy) dapat dilakukan dengan cara pemuasaan. Pemuasaan berarti pemberian pakan dengan selang waktu yang ditentukan dengan harapan ikan dapat mengalami peningkatan nafsu makan setelah dipuasakan. Peningkatan konsumsi pakan setelah dipuasakan disebut hiperfagia, yakni kondisi dimana nafsu makan ikan meningkat selama beberapa waktu 2-3 hari setelah ikan dipuasakan pada periode tertentu dan akan kembali ke keadaan normal. Selama dalam keadaan hiperfagia dapat memberikan pasokan nutrisi yang cukup untuk memenuhi kebutuhan metabolisme setelah ikan dipuasakan sehingga dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempercepat pertumbuhan dengan menghemat pakan. Penelitian dilakukan skala laboratorium menggunakan metode eksperimen. Setiap akuarium berisi ikan gurami 10 ekor dengan panjang sekitar 8-10 cm. Perlakuan berjumlah 4 dengan ulangan 5 kali. Data SGRw (spesific growth rate weight), SGRl (spesific growth rate length) dan PER (protein efficiency ratio) diambil 10 hari sekali kemudian dilakukan uji analisis anova dan uji homogenitas. Hasil penelitian SGRw menunjukan hasil yang tidak berpengaruh namun P3 (makan 3 hari puasa 1 hari) mendekati kontrol sebesar 4.42±0.75% dan SGRl menunjukan hasil yang sama sedangkan PER menunjukan hasil yang tidak berbeda nyata dengan nilai P3 mendekati P4 sebesar 19.84±5.42%. Pemuasaan pada ikan gurami dengan interval waktu berbeda tidak berpengaruh terhadap pertumbuhan dan rasio efisiensi protein.Kata kunci: ikan gurami; pemuasaan; pertumbuhan; protein; hiperfagiaAbstractGourami is a fish that has a high level of consumption, but it growth is slow. Efforts to increase the production of gurami (Osphronemus gouramy) can be done by fasting. Fasting means feeding with a specified time interval in the hope that fish can experience an increase in appetite after fasting. Increased feed consumption after fasting is called hyperphagia, a condition in which fish appetite increases for a period of 2-3 days after the fish is fasted for a certain period and will return to its normal state. During the state of hyperphagia can provide a sufficient supply of nutrients to meet metabolic needs after the fish is fasted to increase growth. This study aims to accelerate growth by saving feed. The study was conducted on a laboratory scale using experimental methods. Each aquarium contains 10 fish of gourami with a length of about 8-10 cm. The treatment amounted to 4 with replications 5 times. SGRw data (specific growth rate weight), SGRl (specific growth rate length) and PER (protein efficiency ratio) were taken once every 10 days and then performed ANOVA analysis test. The results of the SGRw study showed no effect but P3 approached the control of 4.42 ± 0.75% and SGRl showed the same results while PER showed results that were not significantly different from the P3 value approaching P4 of 19.84 ± 5.42%. Fasting in gourami with different time intervals does not affect growth and protein efficiency ratio.Keywords: gourami; fasting; growth, protein; hyperphagia

Abstract

Permintaan pasar yang tinggi pada ikan manfish sangat sulit terpenuhi dikarenakan pertumbuhan ikan manfish yang lambat. Solusi untuk memperbaiki pertumbuhan ikan manfish yaitu mengetahui padat tebar yang baik untuk ikan manfish serta ditambah penerapan teknologi resirkulasi yang di harapkan pertumbuhan ikan menjadi lebih cepat. Berdasarkan permasalahan itu maka dilakukannya penelitian ini untuk melihat respon ikan terhadap pertumbuhan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap. Penelitian ini menggunakan 4 perlakuan (P1 (3 ekor/L dengan 25 liter air yaitu 75 ekor/wadah), P2 (6 ekor/L dengan 25 liter air yaitu 150 ekor/wadah), P3 (9 ekor/L dengan 25 liter air yaitu 225 ekor/wadah), dan P4 (12 ekor/L dengan 25 liter air yaitu 300 ekor/wadah) yang masing-masing perlakuan diulang sebanyak 3 kali ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa nilai rerata SGR (specific growth rate) yang terbaik adalah pada pelakuan P1 dengan pelakuan 3 ekor/L dengan air 25 liter yaitu 75 ekor/wadah, dengan rerata SGR sebesar 5,12 %. Laju pertumbuhan panjang yang terbaik adalah pada pelakuan P1 dengan pelakuan 3 ekor/L dengan air 25 liter yaitu 75 ekor/wadah, dengan rerata laju pertumbuhan panjang sebesar 1,40 %. Kelangsungan hidup (survival rate) terbesar adalah pada perlakuan P1 dengan pelakuan 3 ekor/L dengan air 25 liter yaitu 75 ekor/wadah, dengan rerata kelangsungan hidup (survival rate) sebesar 86,22%. Secara statistik pada penelitian ini mendapatkan hasil berpengaruh nyata terdapat pertumbuhan dan kelulusan hidup.Kata kunci: ikan manfish; resirkulasi; petumbuhan; kelulusan hidup High market demand for manfish is challenging to fulfill due to the slow growth of manfish. The solution to improve the growth of manfish is knowing good stocking density for manfish and adding the application of recirculation technology, which is expected to accelerate fish growth. Based on these problems, this study was conducted to see the response of fish to growth. The method used in this study is a completely randomized design method. In this study, we were using four treatments (P0 (3 fish/L with 25 liters of water is 75 fish/aquarium), P1 (6 fish/L with 25 liters of water is 150 fish/aquarium), P2 (9 fish /L with 25 liters water which is 225 fish/aquarium), and P3 (12 fish/L) with 25 liters of water, i.e., 300 fish/aquarium), each of which is repeated three times. The results show that the best SGR (specific growth rate) was in the treatment P1 with the treatment of 3 fish/L with 25 liters of water, which is 75 fish/aquarium, with a mean SGR 5.12%. The best high growth rate was at P1 treatment with three fish/L treatment with 25 liters of water, which is 75 fish/aquarium, with a high growth rate 1.40%. The most significant survival rate was in treatment P1 with the treatment of 3 fish/L with 25 liters of water, which is 75 fish/aquarium, with a mean survival rate amounting 86.22%, statistically in this study getting influential results or there were growth and survival rate.Keywords: manfish; recirculation; growth; survival rate

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menetapkan kawasan penangkapan induk udang windu (Penaeus monodon) dan kondisi lingkungan perairannya ditinjau dari aspek fisika kimia perairan pada kawasan perairan kabupaten Aceh Jaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan survey dan teknologi system informasi geografis. Kawasan penangkapan induk udang di Kabupaten Aceh Jaya pada umumnya terdapat pada titik ordinat: (1) H 950 34’ bujur timur dan 040 38’ lintang utara, (2) H 950 33’ bujur timur dan 040 39’ lintang utara, (3) H 950 34’ bujur timur dan 040 40’ lintang utara, (4) H 950 34’ bujur timur dan 040 33’ lintang utara. Parameter fisika kimia perairan yang diukur pada kawasan penangkapan induk udang menunjukkan kondisi yang sangat sesuai bagi sistem kehidupan udang.The aims of this study was to establish the broodstock catchment areas of tiger prawn (Penaeus monodon) and the condition of the waters which was surrounding their habitat in terms of environmental aspects of physical chemical water parameter in the coastal waters of Aceh Jaya region. This study used survey approach and geographic information system technology as methodelogy. The catching areas of broodstock in Aceh Jaya region commonly found on the ordinate point: (1) H 950 34' east longitude and 040 38' north, (2) H 950 33' east and 040 39' north, (3) H 950 34' east and 040 40' north, (4) H 950 34' east and 040 33' north. Physical and chemical parameters of water measured at catchment areas showed that the water parameters in the prawn habitat were very suitable for supporting of tiger prawn living.

Abstract

Danau Pondok Lapan (DPL) adalah sebuah danau buatan yang terdapat di Kabupaten Langkat. Danau ini berfungsi sebagai sumber air, irigasi, resapan air tanah bagi masyarakat sekitar, pengendali banjir, dan kegiatan pemancingan ikan. Sampai saat ini data-data tentang danau tersebut sangatlah terbatas. Data-data terkait sumberdaya yang terdapat di danau sangat diperlukan untuk pengelolaan yang lebih tepat. Diantara beberapa data yang dimaksud adalah organisme penyusun danau. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari kondisi biologis DPL dengan melihat keragaman jenis dan struktur komunitas nekton, benthos dan plankton di perairan. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada bulan Februari - April 2015. Hasil pencacahan plankton di DPL ditemukan 52 jenis dari 10 kelas. Ada 6 kelas dari kelompok pitoplankton dan 4 kelas dari kelompok zooplankton. Jumlah genus paling banyak ditemukan jenis fitoplankton dan zooplankton masing-masing dari kelas Chlorophyceae berjumlah 18 genus dan dari kelas Cladocera sebesar 5 genus. Nekton yang ditemukan terdapat 2 kelas yaitu Actinopterygii dan Malacostrata.Terdapat 5 Ordo nekton yang ditemukan, yaitu 4 ordo dari jenis ikan dan 1 ordo dari jenis udang. Benthos yang ditemukan hanya 3 jenis dari kelas gastropoda, yaitu Bithynia tentaculata, Pomacea canaliculata dan Campeloma decisum. Struktur komunitas plankton, nekton dan benthos relatif tidak stabil serta ada kecenderungan didominansi oleh jenis tertentu.Pondok Lapan Lake (PLL) is an artificial lake located in Langkat regency. The lake its function as source of water, irrigation, catchment area, flood control, and fishing activities. Until recently data about this lake, are limited. The data related to the resource contained in the lake is very necessary for a more appropriate management. Among some of these data are organisms that inhabit the lake. This research aims to study the biological conditions of PLL to see the diversity and community structure of nekton, benthos and plankton. Sampling was conducted in February - April 2015. PLL enumeration results in the plankton found 52 species of 10 classes. There are 6 classes of groups pitoplankton and 4 classes of zooplankton groups. Nekton found there are 7 types of two classes, namely Actinopterygii and Malacostrata. Benthos found only 3 species of gastropod class, namely Bithynia tentaculata, Pomacea canaliculata and Campeloma decisum. Community structure benthos, nekton and plankton are relatively unstable and there is a trend happening dominance by a particular type

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh tanaman berbeda pada sistem akuaponik terhadap kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan benih ikan lele (Clarias sp). Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan empat perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan. Eksperimen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), menggunakan analysis of variance (ANOVA). Selanjutnya dilakukan uji lanjut menggunakan Uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT). Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh nyata perlakuan pada kelangsungan hidup dan pertumbuhan bobot mutlak tetapi tidak berpengaruh pada pertumbuhan panjang mutlak benih ikan lele. Kelangsungan hidup tertinggi ditunjukkan pada perlakuan B (kangkung) sebesar 86.7% diikuti perlakuan C (kangkung dan sawi) sebesar 75.0%  dan terendah pada perlakuan C (sawi) sebesar 55.0%. Sedangkan pertumbuhan bobot mutlak tertinggi pada perlakuan B (kangkung) dan C (kangkung dan sawi) dengan rata-rata sama dengan 1.97 gram, sedangkan perlakuan A (kontrol) dan D (sawi) secara dengan rata-rata pertumbuhan bobot mutlak sebesar 1.69 gram dan 1.54 gram secara berurutan.This study aims to determine the effect of different plants on aquaponic system on the survival rate and growth of catfish seeds (Clarias sp). The method used was experimental with four treatments and three replications.  The experiment used was randomized design. Data were analyzed by using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results showed that there were a significant effect of treatment on survival and absolute weight growth but did not affect the absolute length growth of catfish fingerling. The highest survival was shown in treatment B (water spinach) of 86.7% followed by C (water spinach and mustard greens) treatment of 75.0% and the lowest in C treatment (mustard greens) amounted to 55.0%. Additionally, the highest absolute weight growth were in treatment B (water spinach) and C (water spinach and mustard greens) with the same average to 1.97 gram, while treatment A (control) and D (mustard greens) were 1.69 gram and 1.54 grams respectively.

Abstract

AbstrakIkan betutu Oxyeleotris marmorata merupakan ikan lokal potensial menjadi komoditas budidaya. Performa pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup dapat ditingkatkan dengan mengembangkan wadah budidaya. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengetahui jenis wadah budidaya yang optimal dalam mendukung pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup. Perlakuan yang di uji adalah kolam tanah, kolam hapa dan kolam terpal berukuran 3 m x 2 m x 1 m. Ukuran benih yang digunakan 15±1,39 cm dengan bobot 250,04±1,70 g dengan padat tebar 25 ekor/kolam. Selama 120 hari masa pemeliharaan, pakan yang diberikan adalah ikan rucah sebanyak 30% dari bobot tubuh dengan frekwensi 2x sehari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan jenis wadah berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertambahan bobot dan laju pertumbuhan spesifik, namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap kelangsungan hidup. Pertambahan bobot terbaik terdapat pada perlakuan jenis wadah kolam tanah sebesar 53,86±1,10 g dengan laju pertumbuhan spesifik 0,45±0,010 %bobot tubuh/hari dan kelangsungan hidup 85,33±6,11%. Kualitas air pada seluruh wadah pemeliharaan masih mendukung pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup. Hasil penelitian ini dapat dijadikan informasi dasar dalam pemilihan wadah budidaya yang efektif dan efisien dalam pengembangan budidaya ikan betutu secara optimal.Kata kunci: ikan betutu; pertumbuhan; kelangsungan hidup; wadahAbstractSand goby (Oxyeleotris marmorata. Blkr) is a potential fish species for aquaculture in Indonesia. However, the growth and survival rate performance can be improved by developing cultivation containers. The research objective was to determine the optimal type of cultivation container to produce high growth and survival rate. The ponds treatments used in this experiment were soil pond, hapa pond and tarpaulin pond with measuring 3 m x 2 m x 1 m. The initial fish length average was 15±1.39 cm, with the initial body weight average of 250.04±1.70 g with the stocking density of 25 individual/pond. During 120 days of the rearing period, the fish were fed with trash fish with a proportion of 30% of body weight with the frequency of feeding 2x a day. The results showed differences in the type of container significantly affected weight gain and specific growth rates but did not significantly affect survival rate. The best weight gain was found in the treatment of soil pond containers at 53.86 ± 1.10 g with a specific growth rate of 0.45 ± 0.010% body weight/day and survival rate of 85.33 ± 6.11%. Water quality in all containers still supports growth and survival rate. The results of this study can be used as necessary information in the selection of effective and efficient aquaculture containers to produce optimal sand goby culture.Keywords: sand goby; growth; survival rate; container

Abstract

Penelitian kajian padat tebar budidaya ikan baung ini bertujuan untuk menjawab pertanyaan para pembudidaya baung dengan KJA di waduk Sungai Paku kabupaten Kampar. Kajian ini dilaksakan di Waduk Sungai Paku dari bulan Mei hingga September 2013. Kajian ini menggunakan 3 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan, adapun perlakuannya berupa padat tebar yang berbeda yaitu 1500 (P1), 2000 (P2) dan 2500 (P3) dengan ukuran masingmasing adalah keramba 16 m2. Dari hasil kajian didapat bahwa tidak ada perbedaan signifikan pengaruh padat tebar terhadap hasil budidaya ikan baung.Study of rearing cat fish with different density aimed to answer the problem of fish cultivator with floating net cage on Sungai Paku dam, Kampar country. This research has done at Sungai Paku dam on May to September 2013. This studied use different density culture of fish, P1 with density 1500 fish/cage, P2 with density 2000 fish/cage and P3 with density 2500 fish/cage (each cage was 16 m2). Result of this research was no significant between treatments.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the growth of catfish (Clarias sp.) Seeds by giving a combination of silkworms (Tubifex sp.) and commercial feed. This research was conducted in August - October 2020 in the fish farming group of PT ASABRI, West Ilir II Palembang, South Sumatera. The treatments used in this study were 100% silkworm (control) feeding and a combination of feed treatment consisting of 75% commercial feed and 25% silkworms. Parameters include absolute weight growth, absolute length growth, feed efficiency, survival, and water quality. The results obtained from this study indicate that combination feeding (P1) obtained better results than the control (P0) with absolute weight growth data of 8.38 g, absolute length 7.39 cm, feed efficiency 56.38% and survival 87.50%.Keywords: catfish, commercial feed, combination, growth silkworm
