Abstract

This study aims to analyze the design of extreme poverty reduction policies in West Lombok District. The design of the policy refers to the substance/content of the policies developed for the reduction/prevention of extreme poverty used by the regions. A case study research approach is used to explore the design of extreme poverty alleviation policies. The West Lombok Regency government's policy on poverty alleviation contains various local government programs synergized in accelerating the acceleration of extreme poverty reduction. In addition, it is in the form of efforts to assist the poor for a movement that is actualized in bridging aid recipients to get out of poverty immediately. The construction of extreme poverty reduction policies in West Lombok Regency adopts the concept of an innovation hub to accelerate cross-government programs that target basic services (health and education) in interventions for individual/family change as well as increasing the business capacity of community groups.

Abstract

This research aims to explore strategies for reducing the stunting prevalence rate in DKI Jakarta Province, which has reached 14.8 percent. The stunting rate is a problem because the DKI Jakarta governor's target for 2024 is to hope that the stunting rate will be more evenly distributed to reach the national target of 14 percent. The research hypothesis is how the DKI Jakarta Province's stunting prevalence rate will be evenly distributed throughout the region. The highest figure was in Seribu Islands Regency, around 20.50 percent; the lowest was in South Jakarta, around 11.90 percent; and the cities of East Jakarta and Central Jakarta were 14 percent. The research methodology uses qualitative methods with descriptive research design. Research data was taken from interviews in the field. By taking a population of stunting participants from four regions in DKI Jakarta, 20 people each, so the total sample is 100 people. The research results show that the two decisions of the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Number 981 and 774 of 2022, have been effective and right on target in overcoming the reduction in the prevalence of stunting rates. It's just that a more equitable strategy for reducing stunting prevalence rates is needed relatively evenly throughout the DKI Jakarta area. In conclusion, DKI Jakarta Province has reduced the stunting prevalence by 14.8 percent. A comprehensive strategy is needed to reduce the prevalence of stunting evenly, namely: (1) making a Regional Regulation for the DKI Jakarta Province regarding stunting; (2) increasing the number of Foster Fathers for Stunting Children (BAAS) from entrepreneurs and other stakeholders so that the stunting reduction strategy reaches the target of 14 percent evenly.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the extent of Islamization in Bangladesh during the tenure of democratically elected leaders Sheikh Hasina and Khaleda Zia. The objective is to analyze the state of democratic governance in Bangladesh from a religious perspective, focusing specifically on Islamic political epistemology. It begins by defining Islamic Political Epistemology and its significance in acknowledging Islam's role in democratic power. This qualitative descriptive analysis examines recent research papers from highly ranked resources such as Scopus. It is important to note that specific methods can strengthen strategies for enforcing electoral decrees, improve credentials for arbitration through sovereignty within the dominion branch, and increase national participation in political acts and society through Islamic Political Epistemology. Sheikh Hasina's new regime has achieved significant progress in implementing Islamic development in bureaucracy and regulations. Qawmi Madrasah has contributed significantly to Islamic Education in Bangladesh, and the current government recognizes their educational certificates. The salaries of teachers and Imams at Government Madrasah-e-Alia have been increased, which is a significant policy change. The study revealed that Khaleda Zia's government could have succeeded despite its alliance with Islamic political parties. Having a coalition with Islamic political parties does not necessarily mean that the country's political ideology is institutionalized in an Islamic way. Opposite, Bangladesh's government, with partial financing from Saudi Arabia, is constructing 560 mosques that will also serve as artistic centres to promote Islamic epistemology and combat extremism. However, this government operates under a one-party system with the Awami League party, led by Sheikh Hasina, idolizing Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Abstract

The Gorontalo Province region has the potential for significant resource wealth. However, the Gorontalo Provincial Government still faces problems and challenges when trying to improve the welfare of its people. One is the limited data/information that is accurate, up-to-date, and integrated. This data/information is important in planning and making appropriate decisions. Another problem is that the community's role in modern development based on economic intelligence in Gorontalo Province has not been optimal. This means that the public and even bureaucrats are still unfamiliar with "Economic Intelligence." As a result, economic intelligence has not been fully used in planning, implementing programs/activities, evaluating and monitoring, or government decision-making processes. This research aims to analyze the problems and challenges in modern development based on economic intelligence in Gorontalo Province. This research uses a qualitative-descriptive approach. This study found that the main problems in modern development based on economic intelligence in Gorontalo Province are: 1) The lack of integration of economic data/information from various government and private agencies; 2) Lack of human resources (HR) who are reliable and have competence as managers and/or analysts of scientific data; and 3) Lack of technological support in managing economic data/information. The results of data analysis also show that the role of society in modern development based on economic intelligence is still very low. A lack of public understanding of the importance of economic intelligence causes this. Therefore, it is recommended that the Gorontalo Provincial Government make: 1) efforts to integrate economic data/information from various government and private agencies; 2) increase human resource capacity in managing and analyzing scientific data; 3) provide technological support in managing economic data/information; and 4) increase public understanding of the importance of economic intelligence.

Abstract

The development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) in East Kalimantan Province was an important turning point in Indonesia's development model. Gorontalo Province as one of its close neighbors has great potential to contribute to developing IKN. Cohesion between Gorontalo Province and IKN is a key factor in achieving its socio-economic development goals. However, Gorontalo Province is still faced with problems in economic development, public services, and MSMEs, including slow local economic development, inadequate infrastructure, low community competitiveness, high levels of poverty, and socio-economic problems. This study aims to analyze the problems and potential of the Gorontalo Provincial Government in its contribution and cohesion to the socio-economic development of IKN. Through a well-being methodology (WM) approach that combines qualitative and quantitative approaches, three main dimensions are emphasized, namely perception, participation and community acceptability of competitive strategies to provide a holistic and participatory understanding of welfare aspects. The study found that the people of Gorontalo have a positive view of IKN, with the hope that the Gorontalo Provincial Government can strengthen its contribution through improving the quality of human resources, infrastructure and economic competitiveness to support the socio-economic development of IKN. Interestingly, the majority of respondents were generation Z. This shows that most of Gorontalo's young generation were involved in this research. In essence, the Gorontalo Provincial Government faces challenges in its contribution and cohesion to the socio-economic development of IKN, with low levels of public participation and a lack of public understanding of the benefits of development. Therefore, intensive efforts are needed in socialization, education, and public involvement to increase participation and strengthen the IKN development process. The Gorontalo Provincial Government is advised to design an integrated competitive strategy, focusing on increasing public perception through socialization, building trust, fostering public participation, and increasing the acceptability of IKN development.
