The tipping bucket rain gauge is an automatic rain gauge that can measure rain intensity in mm/hour. Accurate measurement of rain intensity requires calibration of the rain gauge to ensure traceability. Calibration of a tipping bucket rain gauge is related to the volume of water as a calibration medium and time so as to produce a discharge that can be converted into rain intensity. Technological developments can make tipping bucket rain gauge calibration automatic by utilizing an Arduino Mega2560 microcontroller, a load cell and a simple water sensor based on the LM393 comparator IC, and combined with a compact design printed using a three-dimensional printer so that it can be used for ex-situ calibration. The data produced by this tool can be downloaded via the application that was built and produces a file in Excel form.

This study explores the effectiveness of magnetic media in enhancing students' literacy skills in material state changes. Traditional teaching methods often struggle to effectively convey abstract scientific concepts, resulting in varying student performance levels. To address this gap, magnetic media was introduced as an interactive visual aid in the learning process. The study employed a pretest-posttest design with students from a science class, analyzing their literacy skills before and after using magnetic media. Results showed an average pretest score of -5.481, improving to -4.771 in the posttest, indicating a significant average increase of 0.71 points. Posttest scores also exhibited lower standard deviations, suggesting more consistent performance among students. This underscores that magnetic media supports both high and low-achieving students, promoting a more uniform understanding across different performance levels. Such inclusivity is crucial in education to ensure effective teaching methods for diverse learners. The study contributes by highlighting the unique benefits of magnetic media in providing tangible and visual representations of abstract concepts. Future research should further explore its application in different educational contexts and optimize strategies to maximize its benefits in teaching and learning.

This research aims to compare the effectiveness of two learning approaches in enhancing students' scientific literacy skills at the secondary school level. The methods employed were quasi-experimental with two groups: an experimental group applying Project-Based Learning (PjBL) using flipbook media, and a control group implementing conventional learning using PowerPoint media. Data were gathered through pretests and posttests administered to both groups. The findings revealed that the experimental group experienced a significant improvement in scientific literacy skills compared to the control group. The percentage of students who showed an increase in posttest scores in the experimental group (81.48%) was higher than that in the control group (53.57%). Data analysis also indicated lower result variability in the experimental group, highlighting consistency in learning effectiveness. Based on the research findings, the importance of interactive and contextual learning approaches in facilitating students' understanding of scientific concepts, with PjBL and flipbook media being more effective methods, is emphasized. The contribution of this research lies in providing a deeper understanding of the influence of learning methods and media on students' learning outcomes, with direct implications for teaching practices in schools

This study aims to evaluate the impact of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with a treasure hunt game strategy on improving students' scientific literacy skills. The research method employed a quasi-experimental approach with a pretest-posttest control group design. The subjects consisted of two classes: an experimental class implementing the PBL model with the treasure hunt game strategy and a control class using conventional teaching methods. Data were collected through scientific literacy tests administered before and after the intervention and analyzed using stacking and racking analysis based on the Rasch Model. The results indicated that both classes experienced an increase in scientific literacy skills, with the experimental class showing a higher average increase of 1.99 compared to the control class's 1.80. Although the percentage difference in improvement was only about 11.24%, this suggests that the PBL method with the game strategy can provide additional positive contributions to science learning. The discussion highlights the importance of proper method implementation, teacher-student interaction, and learning environment conditions in influencing learning outcomes. In conclusion, while the PBL method with the game strategy is effective in enhancing scientific literacy, a holistic approach is still needed for optimal development of students' abilities.

The coastal area of Desa Sungai Nibung is a conservation area with high biodiversity. This area has been used for various activities, such as capture and aquaculture fisheries, shipping traffic, and tourism. These activities could affect the waters, ecosystems, and biodiversity condition. Water quality is determined by several parameters, which one of the bioindicators is microalgae. The presence of certain microalgae contributes to the change in the color of the water which indicates the presence of HABS phenomenon. Therefore, this study aimed to determine the composition of microalgae in the waters of Desa Sungai Nibung. Water samples were taken by purposive sampling method in 5 stations with different environmental characteristics. Each station was taken surface water using a plankton net. Microalgae in the samples were then observed with a microscope and their abundance was calculated. The composition of microalgae consisted of 22 genera, belonging to Bacillariophyceae (14 genera), Dinophyceae (7 genera), and Chlorophyceae (1 genus). The Bacillariophyceae dominated the waters with a percentage of 63.66%. Microalgae abundance ranged from 3.94-7,329.25 ind/L with oligotrophic and mesotrophic categories. The diversity index was low to medium (0.74-1.78), Evenness index was low to medium (0.31-0.66), and dominance index was low to high (0.24-0.74).
