Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of Discovery Learning Student Worksheets to improve students' critical thinking skills and increase students' Critical Thinking Skills on chemical equilibrium material. This study uses research development methods with the design of the Borg and Gall models. The samples in this study were 140 students of Al-Falah Islamic Senior High School Aceh Besar to develop Student Worksheets and 61 people of IT Al-Fitiyan Senior High School to implement Discovery Learning Student Worksheets. The instruments used were questions and student response questionnaires. The data analysis technique uses the percentage equation and analysis of students' critical thinking skills improvement using the N-gain equation and independent-sample t-test. The results showed that the quality of the Discovery Learning Student Worksheets could improve students' critical thinking skills on chemical equilibrium material, as evidenced by the results of the quality assessment of the Discovery Learning Student Worksheets from the validation results obtained an average of 79% with a decent category. The analysis of students' critical thinking skills proves that there is a difference in the average critical thinking skills of students before and after applying the Discovery Learning Student Worksheet on chemical equilibrium material with a Sig value. (2-tailed) < 0.05. The results obtained prove that the use of Discovery Learning Student Worksheets is better than conventional Student Worksheets in improving students' Critical Thinking Skills.

Abstract

Worksheets are indispensable in the learning process because they can help students become more active and provide feedback in learning activities. Higher-order thinking skill-based worksheet is one of the teaching materials that can be used to make students become more active in the learning process because it can train problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and even creative thinking. This aimed at finding out students' ability to solve problems in biological content using creative problem-solving-based worksheets. The research design used was research and development consisting of defines, design, and development. Participants were 12 graders of XI MA Darul Fatihin NW Gerintuk. Data collection used was worksheets using creative problem-solving indicators consisting of Clarify, Ideate, Develop and Implement. Data analysis was conducted to percentage the score that gets 3, 2, and 1. The results of the data analysis showed that 1) Ecosystem Components and interactions between components, obtained the results of ecosystem components and interactions between ecosystems, the highest percentage on clarify indicators with a gain of 50% in the score position 3; (2) Energy flow, the highest percentage on the clarify indicator with an obtained score 58.3% in the position of score 1; (3) Biogeochemical cycle, the highest percentage obtained for the students who did not answer on the ideate indicator 41.7%, develop 50%, and implement 58.3%; (4) Pollution and environmental preservation the highest percentage on clarifying and ideate indicators with a gain of 50% at the position of score 3, implement with the acquisition of 50% in the position of score 1. This research concluded that students needed to be intensely trained in high-level thinking skills by getting used to using worksheets-based constructivist especially creative problem-solving.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increase in student learning retention in the human skeletal system material through the application of the Picture and Picture (PAP) learning model based on the recitation module. This study uses an experimental method using a pretest posttest control group design. The population in this study were all 6th semester students. There were 132 students. The sample in this study consisted of 60 students who were randomly selected. The instrument in this study used a recitation-based module and a test device in the form of cognitive questions. The data analysis technique for student learning retention uses the formula recognition methods. The results showed that the retention of the experimental class with the percentage of the first retest 80.20%, the second retest 92.50% and the third retest 101.24% had a very good category compared to the control class, the percentage of the first retest was 83.49%, the second retest was 72.24% and the third retest was 79.50% with a good category. Thus, the application of the PAP learning model based on the recitation module can increase student learning retention on the material of the human skeletal system

Abstract

The 21st-century skills integrate life career skills, learning and innovation-4C, and information, media, and technology skills. The components are required to make the learning process more effective and efficient. 21st-century learning is transforming from teacher center to student center. Student-centered learning can use ICT-based learning material in the learning process. Based on preliminary research, the use of ICT-based learning material was still low. The solution to this problem was developing learning material based on ICT integrated CTL to improve student's learning outcomes. The method that used in this research was quasi-experiment. The sample in the field testing of learning material based on ICT was a grade XI of students at SMAN Lubuk Sikaping. The data collection instruments used were attitude observation sheets, written tests, and performance assessment sheets. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistical analysis, normality test, homogeneity test, and t-test. Based on data analysis, it can be stated that the application of mechanical wave learning material based on  ICT integrated CTL  has a significant effect on students' learning outcomes, including in the aspects of attitudes, knowledge, and skills. This result indicates that the use of mechanical wave learning material based on ICT  integrated CTL effectively improves students' learning outcomes

Abstract

The low critical thinking skills of learners are triggered by less supportive learning. The learning process has not emphasized the development of critical thinking skills, it is because in learning learners tend to memorize concepts so that critical thinking skills are not trained, making learners less active in the learning process and not achieving minimum completion criteria, there needs to be efforts to overcome them. The formulation of the problem in this study is: Is there a significant difference in the improvement of students' critical thinking skills with the implementation of STEM-based Experiential Learning learning in class VII MTsN Aceh Besar? This research aims to find out the significance of differences in improving learners' critical thinking skills with the implementation of STEM-based Experiential Learning learning. The method used in this study is an experimental method with the design of One Group Pretest-Postets design. The population of this study is all students of class VII MTsN Aceh Besar which amounted to 120 learners. The instrument used to measure critical thinking skills using multiple choice questions is 10 questions. Data analysis using the One Simple t-Test test at a significant level of 0.05. The results of the One Simple t-Test test of the students' critical thinking skills were obtained by Sig. (0.00) < (0.05), showed that learners' critical thinking skills were better and there was a significant improvement with the implementation of STEM-based Experiental Learning.

Abstract

Learning tools are a set of learning equipment arranged to support the learning process. The project-based learning model is considered as one of the excellent learning models in developing various basic skills within students, such as decision-making skills, creative thinking skills, and problem-solving skills. The design of research used a type validation study, which aims to prove learning theories. The results of the lesson plan validation test as the development of biology learning tools include a very feasible category with a score of 86.75%. The result of students’ worksheet validation is in a very good category with a value of 89.0%. The validation of teaching materials was categorized very well, with a value of 88.2%, and the validation of the evaluation sheet is in the very good category with a value of 88.53%. Furthermore, the practicality test to four teachers got responses about 78.13%, which indicates that the assessment is in good criteria. It can be concluded that the learning kits are feasible to be implemented in the learning activity process.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the quality of the four-tier multiple choice diagnostic test instrument and the level of students' misconceptions. The research method used is research and development (R&D). The population in this study were class IX students at MTs Negeri 2 Aceh Besar. The number of samples consisted of 112 students in group A, each class consisted of 16 students during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research instrument used is a four-tier multiple choice diagnostic test. The data analysis technique in the validation test obtained a high and valid Aiken's V coefficient value. The results in terms of item analysis quantitatively obtained the validity of the questions 75% valid and 15% invalid, the reliability test was 0.786 high category. The level of difficulty of the questions includes 85% too easy questions and 15% easy questions. The differentiating power of the questions obtained in each category is 5% very good, 55% good, 20% sufficient and 20% bad. The results of the students' level of misconceptions using the four-tier multiple choice diagnostic test were obtained from the results of the overall analysis of students with an average of 21.76% and the results of the item analysis showed that the highest student misconceptions were in question number five with a percentage of 11.6% and the lowest found in question number four with a percentage of 0%.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to know the feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness of e-learning modules based on multiple representations integrated with Geogebra at students of class X semester two at Aceh Seulimuem Senior High School no 1. This study uses Research and Development Method with the ADDIE model. The result for feasibility is very feasible to use with the average validation assessment in the amount of 82.95%. At the same time, the practicality from students responses got average percentage is 87.80 % classified within the very practical criteria. The effectiveness shows from the Mann Whitney U test shows that there is a difference in the average value of pre-test and post-test participants learners, which can be summarized that the module is effective to be applied.

Abstract

The use of information and communication technology such as social media has become a necessity as well as a demand in the global era. Therefore, it is necessary to develop various creative and innovative educational models so that the educational process does not seem less interesting, monotonous, and boring so that it will limit the formation of the transfer of knowledge, which is the focus of research. The purpose of this research is how appropriate the development of augmented reality flashcard media is to improve the ability of fourth grade elementary school students to read comprehension of alternative energy source materials. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model. The results obtained are that this development research creates a product in the form of an augmented reality flashcard media which is designed as an android-based application. In the feasibility test, the validation results of the material experts reached an average percentage of 85%, which indicated very good qualifications. The validation results of media experts with an average percentage of 78%, which indicated good qualifications.

Abstract

Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) are controversial topics that have a scientific basis and important to society. This study aims to analyze the trends of SSI research publications from 2011-2020, visualize SSI research trends and how Indonesian researchers contribute to SSI research. This study was conducted on April 18, 2021, using bibliometric analysis. Data obtained is 225 data and taken by using Scopus database with "socio-scientific issues in physics" as the keyword from 2011 until 2020. After that, the data mapping was carried out using VOS Viewer software. Based on the result research, it can be concluded that the most topic in SSI research is related to scientific literacy, argumentation, and global warming. The visualization result shows that SSI has many effects on science learning, especially to improve argumentation skills. From 35 countries, Indonesia became the largest contribution research documents in SSI by placing two representative institutions: Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta. Indonesia also contributed the most prolific SSI writer, Widodo became the most prolific writer.
