Abstract

Abstract

Worksheets are indispensable in the learning process because they can help students become more active and provide feedback in learning activities. Higher-order thinking skill-based worksheet is one of the teaching materials that can be used to make students become more active in the learning process because it can train problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and even creative thinking. This aimed at finding out students' ability to solve problems in biological content using creative problem-solving-based worksheets. The research design used was research and development consisting of defines, design, and development. Participants were 12 graders of XI MA Darul Fatihin NW Gerintuk. Data collection used was worksheets using creative problem-solving indicators consisting of Clarify, Ideate, Develop and Implement. Data analysis was conducted to percentage the score that gets 3, 2, and 1. The results of the data analysis showed that 1) Ecosystem Components and interactions between components, obtained the results of ecosystem components and interactions between ecosystems, the highest percentage on clarify indicators with a gain of 50% in the score position 3; (2) Energy flow, the highest percentage on the clarify indicator with an obtained score 58.3% in the position of score 1; (3) Biogeochemical cycle, the highest percentage obtained for the students who did not answer on the ideate indicator 41.7%, develop 50%, and implement 58.3%; (4) Pollution and environmental preservation the highest percentage on clarifying and ideate indicators with a gain of 50% at the position of score 3, implement with the acquisition of 50% in the position of score 1. This research concluded that students needed to be intensely trained in high-level thinking skills by getting used to using worksheets-based constructivist especially creative problem-solving.

Abstract

The science process is related to cognitive development because it needs to be applied in the skills learning process to support students' mastery of science concepts which can provide better learning outcomes. The focus of this research is to develop a worksheet based on science process skills on biology content for the first grade of high school. Research design is research and development which consists of defining, designing, and developing. The participants for this preliminary field testing were twelve second-grade high school students at I.T Dhia'ul Fikri Sukarara, East Lombok. Collecting data using worksheets refers to science process skills indicators consisting of observation, classification, prediction, communication, and inference. The results of preliminary field testing were analyzed descriptively quantitatively by giving a score of 3, 2, and 1 for each of science process skills indicators, then percentage based on the low, medium, and high categories. The results of the analysis showed that of the seven-biology content tested in the limited trial of developing worksheets, the results obtained were for the low category the highest percentage of content in the biogeochemical cycle for all science process skills indicators. The medium category has the highest percentage of inference indicators for environmental balance, environmental change, environmental pollution, and environmental management. High category on environmental balance content; the highest percentage with indicators of observation, classification, prediction, and communication., environmental changes on indicators of observation, classification, prediction, and communication, pollution indicators of observation, prediction, and communication. The conclusion based on the results of this preliminary field testing is that students are able to demonstrate science process skills using worksheets with various categories, and from the seven-biology content tested, the biogeochemical cycle is considered the most difficult by students

Abstract

This study aims to determine whether the influence of guided inquiry learning models and pro-science skills on the cognitive learning outcomes of grade V science students. This type of research is Quasi-Experimental research with a research design using T treatment by Level 2x2. The population in this study were grade V students of elementary school. This research instrument is a multiple-choice test with a total of 20 questions. Data processing techniques and data analysis are descriptive statistics and infrencial statistics with SPSS 22. The data analysis results show significant differences in student cognitive learning outcomes with guided inquiry methods and science process skills, namely sig. = 0.000 < 0.05, meaning that there are differences in learning outcomes taught by guided inquiry (experimental class) with student learning outcomes taught by conventional approaches (control classes). Furthermore, there is an interaction caused between the use of guided inquiry methods by looking at the level of skills of the student's science process towards the cognitive learning outcomes. This can also be proven from the hypothesis test results, namely with a value of sig. = 0.000 < 0.05 means that there is a significant interaction between the use of guided inquiry and the skill level of the student's science process to influence the cognitive learning outcomes of students together. The conclusion of this study is that there is no significant interaction between science process skills and learning outcomes. The cognitive learning outcomes of students who were taught using the guided inquiry learning model were higher than those taught using the conventional learning model for students with low science process skills. Abstract

This study aims to elaborate on indigenous science contained in the use of materials for making bale adat based on scientific concepts. This study is a literature study with data sources from previous research articles that have topics related to ethnoscience learning, indigenous science in the tradition of materials for making bale adat, and the potential for integration of indigenous science in learning natural sciences. The procedure in literature study research is carried out in stages, namely collecting library data, reading, taking notes, studying, collecting concepts or manuscripts, then carrying out elaboration and explanation of the collected data/text. The study results show that (1) bale adat typical of the Sasak tribe consists of several types, namely bale beleq bencingah, bale bonter, bale tani, bale jajar, bale tajuk, berugag (sekepat-sekenam); (2) Indigenous science in the materials for making bale adat, namely: a) the foundation for bale adat is made from a mixture of clay, tree sap, straw ash or rice husk, and buffalo dung mixed with water, b) floor of bale adat periodically smeared with buffalo dung mixed with water to reduce humidity, c) the walls of bale adat or room covering are made of woven bamboo slats known as the local term pager, d) woven pagers are made of ampel bamboo with various motifs and sometimes to beautify the pager , the material used is spotted bamboo which has colorful bark, d) teken, ampak, lampen, and langkar used in the bale adat are made from the part of the tree that is believed to be the strongest or known locally as kayu galih, e) roof made of weeds leaves woven into bamboo frame clips which are split into small pieces; (3) indigenous science in the materials for making bale adat can be integrated into the school science learning concept, namely in the material: a) material on network structure and function, as well as technology inspired by plant structure , b) material properties and utilization of materials in everyday life.
