Abstract

This research is a development research that tries to develop self-based potential poetry writing book. This development research refers to the Borg and Gall stage model. The stage consists of ten stages of development, there are the initial research and information collection stage, the planning stage, the initial stage of production format development, the initial test phase, the product revision phase, the field test phase, the product revision phase, the field test phase, the product revision phase end, and dissemination and implementation. In this study, only until the final product revision stage without including the phase of dissemination and implementation due to limited time research. In general, this study aims to explain the process of developing and implementing textbook writing short stories oriented on the formation of characters. While the subject in this study is the students of class VIII SMP N 1 Mantingan Ngawi.Penelitian this time is a development research for trying to develop textbooks. The results of the textbook development process are shown in the following stages. The validation of textbooks was assessed by two validators, validation results indicated that the textbooks were included in either category because of the percentage of ≥ 75%, the initial trial results were trialed in limited to seven students of class X generated by student questionnaires, teacher interviews, and observer observations. From the results of field trials resulted in the value of students in writing short stories to produce the average value of students 80. Implementation of textbooks write a short story-oriented writing the formation of the character of student activities at the time of writing short story writing using textbook writing a short story-oriented character formation. Activities at the time of learning are divided into three, namely observation, interviews with teachers, and student questionnaires. Based on these data it can be analyzed that the learning of writing a short story-oriented writing on the character of this worthy as a textbook.

Abstract

Batik is a blend of art on cloth by using traditional malam coating techniques, which create its own uniqueness that causes batik is recognized by the world since October 2, 2009. In its development, batik art is no longer only done and developed in the palace environment, but also began to work and grow outside the palace to the coastal area. This can be seen with the emergence of batik artisans coming from outside the palace, such as in the Lasem (Rembang), Pekalongan, Tuban, Cirebon, Demak, and other areas with the characteristics and uniqueness of each, and the creativity of batik craftsmen itself. Widespread and developed batik, encouraging the birth of new motifs that have its own characteristics in each region, especially in Lasem. This research tries to explain the visualization of batik latohan motif in Lasem District, Rembang Regency. Methods of data collection are interviews, observation and documentation. The validity of the data using Miles technics of data triangulation. Finding that: (1) Latohan motif obtained and inspired from the depiction of plants latoh, which is a kind of seaweed that became typical food coastal communities, especially Lasem; (2) Visualization of batik latohan motif using plant ornaments that are given isen-isen that make the motif appear more volume, life, and rhythm, and combined with the game of good and beautiful color, so happened color effect with special style of Lasem batik.

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss and describe the study of Panji Mask in Koentjaraningrat cultural elements. The data source can be from mask crafters, observations and literature studies. Data analysis using qualitative descriptive analysis technique. The results of this study is a description of the toopeng and its role in every element of culture that includes; (1) religion; (2) system of social organization; (3) economic systems and livelihoods; (4) knowledge systems; (5) language; (6) art; and (7) living equipment and technology systems.

Abstract

Communication through short messages (SMS) is one of the communication’s obstacles between lecturers and students. These issue could indirectly lead to misunderstandings between students and lecturers. This is caused by various factors, the important one is because the communication can not be done face-to-face, it may cause prejudices or negative perceptions. In this research, we are trying to summarize communication pattern through SMS between lecturers with STMIK STIKOM (STIKI) Indonesia students as sample. From the data we have collected, we concluded that there are still some students lack of intelligence in sending short messages. It is important to educate about the ethics of communication, because it is the basic human capital to interact with other humans.

Abstract

Education as a cultural process is an effort to humanize and civilize people. Through education,individuals transfer, inherit and transmit knowledge, values, and beliefs that function as guides to fulfilling human needs in local contexts. The educational process occurs across generations through socialization, enculturation, and internalization. In this regard, education can be carried out through formal, non-formal, and informal ways. This paper argues the importance of preserving and cultivating local wisdom that is a form of culture containing knowledge, values, and beliefs that can benefit society. More specifically, this paper discusses that art education as a form of education that utilizes art as its medium has a strategic role in preserving and cultivating local wisdom.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the strategy and learning outcomes of frog dance in hyperactive autism childrens at Inclusive PAUD Anggrek Mandiri school in Situbondo. The approach of this study is a qualitatif study with interview and observation as tools research. The participations of this study are two autism childrens. The result shows that learning strategy of frog dance performed by teacher using storytelling and imitation method with group model in inclusion class. Frog-dance learning’s results improved on the development of physical, intellectual, social, and emotional aspects.

Abstract

In Indonesia, our ancestors since prehistoric in Banten precisely, has made batik from rice pulp starch as cover the fabric, called simbut. Simbut (Sundanese) means blanket. Before wax was used for batik, our ancestors have known simbut with batik technique since a long time a go. This simbut fabrick using the resist technique, for the color barrier is used ketan rice pulp / pulut rice which is melted and mixed with liquid brown sugar. The coloring technique still uses natural dye materials of this type of herbs.Batik that the author made using gutta as cover on the design with resist technique, using silk fabric. Gutta is used as a color barrier that can prevent the rate of liquid silk paint to the unwanted place in the design/separate colors. Batik with gutta media is just an alternative media in batik to easier in the making, and speed up the production. The process of making batik using gutta is safe for children because the gutta used does not require heating. If an error occurs in applying gutta, it is easy to fix.

Abstract

This study describes an implementation of Outdoor Education as a contextual learning activity to improve writing ability of young adolescents. It aims at (1) investigating how Outdoor Education is implemented in teaching English to young adolescents to improve their writing ability; (2) identifying the challenges faced by the teacher in the implementation of this learning activity; (3) finding the strategies to overcome the challenges faced by the teacher. A Classroom Action Research was employed as a research design which was divided into four phases namely Planning, Acting, Observing, and Reflecting. Moreover, data were collected through several instruments, namely observation, students’ writings (documentation), and interview with the students. The collected data in the form of students’ writing were analyzed by using the scoring rubric suggested by Brown (2007) and referred to qualitative data analysis proposed by Hamied and Malik (2016). The result of the study revealed that Outdoor Education has successfully improved students’ writing ability because the students may understand the content of the lesson and new vocabulary contextually. In addition, the improvement found because the students enjoyed and were excited in their learning in suchan informal and interesting context (Berns&Errickson, 2001). Comparing the result of Pre-writing and Second Cycle Writing may reveal the better students’ writing ability (from 56.16 to 80.17). However, the teacher found some challenges to implement it since the adolescents seemed to spend the time inefficiently thus to deal with those the teacher provided clear briefings before doing the activity and asked them to open the dictionary if they got difficult words in writing their descriptive text.

Abstract

The manuscript by the name of Darmasonya in the literary knowledge of Javanese literature can be regarded as one of the popular texts. The popularity of this Darmasonya script can be seen from its first appearance in ancient Javanese times until the early Surakarta period. This is quite interesting considering the time of the emergence of the script of Ancient Javanese Darmasonya with the script of the Darmasonya of the Surakarta era The beginning of which is too far away. Darmasonya name is still used in early Surakarta. The manuscript under the name Darmasonya has existed since ancient Javanese times in the form of a rontal script (lontar) kakawin dharma sunya. Manuscript kakawin dharma sunya has several variants such as kakawin dharma sunyakling and kakawin dharma putus. However, it is possible to find other variants of kakawin dharma sunya. Then, Darmasonya script in Surakarta era Early in the form of tembang macapat and prose (gancaran). So, this study focuses on the variants of Darmasonya text by way of tracking seen from the side of the same name, namely Darmasonya.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to analyze the character value from one of Banyumas fables entitled Raden Jono.The analysis content to be used is based on Eriyanto and Rakhmat’s. The data is Banyumas fable text, that is on Panginyongan modul from Javanese Teachers’ MGMPof Banyumas regency.The analysis of the text is focused on the educational character value by which it is showed on the result of this researchdiscussion in the form of text quotations.The resultof this research shows that there are educational character (abbreviated EC) as values in this fable by which it can be able to be appliedin the daily life as it affects the positivities in our life to influence good attitude and gain our spirit up.
