Abstract

Abstract : This study analysis the factors affecting the depth of outreach ofMicrofinance Institutions (MFIs) of UED-SP at Rambah Sub-district Rokan HuluDistrict. Factors thought to influence the depth of outreach is age of UED-SP, ROA,percent of trading sector clients, percent of agriculture sector clients and number ofwoman clients. The sampling method is done using by purposive sampling. This studyobtained a sample of twelve UED-SPs in the village at Rambah District from in theperiod of 2012-2015. The data used is secondary data form pooled data. Data wereobtained based on the financial reports of each of the samples. This study usesquantitative approach with analysis technique used is multiple linear regressionanalysis with fixed effect model of pooled data that were previously tested with theclassical assumption test. Hypothesis testing using t-statistic and the F-statistic with95% confidence level. Based on the classic assumption test found no variables thatdeviate. This shows that the available data has been qualified using the linearregression equation model. The results of this study show that depth of outreach arestatistically significant infiuenced by age of UED-SP. However, it’s negatively affecton depth of outhreach. Whereas ROA, number of woman borrower, percent ofagriculture sector clients and percent of trading sector clients has no affect on depth ofouthreach. Predictive ability of these five variables on the depth of outhreach is 77,66percent, while the 22,34 percent influenced by other factors not included in theresearch model. Abstrak : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhikedalaman jangkauan (Depth of Outrech) pada LKM UED-SP di Kecamatan RambahKabupaten Rokan Hulu. Faktor-faktor yang diduga berpengaruh terhadap kedalamanjangkauan adalah umur UED-SP, rasio pengembalian aset (ROA), jumlah peminjamwanita, proporsi peminjam sektor pertanian dan proporsi peminjam sektor perdagangan. Metode pengambilan sampel dilakukan dengan menggunakan purposive sampling. Dalam penelitian ini diperoleh sampel sebanyak 12 LKM UED-SP di Desa/Kelurahan yang ada di Kecamatan Rambah dan data yang dihimpun adalah 4 tahun dari tahun 2012-2015. Data yang digunakan adalah data sekunder data panel. Data diperoleh berdasarkan laporan keuangan dari masing-masing sampel. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linear berganda data panel dengan model Fixed Effect (FEM) yang sebelumnya diuji dengan uji asumsi klasik. Uji hipotesis menggunakan t-statistik serta F-statistik dengan tingkat kepercayaan 95%. Berdasarkan uji asumsi klasik tidak ditemukan variabel yang menyimpang. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa data yang tersedia telah memenuhi syarat menggunakan model persamaan linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variabel umur UEDSP berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kedalaman jangkauan. Namun berpengaruh negatif terhadap kedalaman jangkauan. Kemampuan prediksi kelima variabel tersebut terhadap kedalaman jangkauan adalah 77,66 persen, sedangakan 22,34 persen dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang tidak dimasukkan ke dalam model penelitian.

Abstract

Efforts  to  improve  the  effectiveness  and  efficiency  of  utilization  of agricultural  resources  in  order  to  accelerate  the  increase  in  the  welfare  of  farmers cannot  be  separated  from  the  role  of  women  in  agricultural  development.  Gender mainstreaming  in agricultural development is mandated by  Presidential Decree No. 9 of  2000.  This  decree  is  a  strategy  to  achieve  gender  equality  in  development.  The gender  aspects  must be integrated  in policy formulation  and  program  activities  from planning  to  evaluation.  This  paper  aims  to  reveal  the  women  role  in  the  program implementation  of  Farmer  Empowerment  through  Agricultural  Technology  and Information  (FEATI)  in  Magelang  District-Central  Java  that  integrates  gender mainstreaming.

Abstract

The  success  of  Indonesia  to  achieve  food  self-sufficient,  mostly  didn’t support  with  the  easiness  to  access  the  food.  Therefore,  it  is  need  to  strengthening national food  security which concern to the accessibility aspect. One strategy that can be applied is by improving the marketing efficiency of agricultural product. Through this strategy, we will be enable to reduce the marketing margins, increased producer selling price and reduce the purchasing price in the level of consumer. Furthermore, the improving of marketing efficiency will support the availability and accessibility of  food in the society. So, this study aims to determine the important of the strengthening efforts for national food security through marketing efficiency improvement strategy of agriculture commodity. NSSE data and Annual Input and Output table from year 2008 was  used  in  this  research  and  analyze  by  using  Computable  General  Equilibrium (CGE)  model.  The  empirical  result  shows  that  the  improvement  of  marketing efficiency  by  5-15%  generally  bring  a  positive  effect  to  the  national  food  security,based on the several indicators, such as the quantity of domestic output, exports, and imports. Therefore,  it  needs  to  arrange  an  action  plan  which  is  reference  from  the marketing  efficiency  improvements  strategy. The  concept  of  policies that  can  be  set are as follows: (1) improving market information systems through the development of an  auction  market  of  agricultural  products,  (2)  improving  farmers  performance  to participate  in  marketing  activities  through  strengthening  farmers  institutional, (3) improving  transportation  facilities,  (4)  apply  of  agricultural  product  hedging mechanism  by  Sistem  Resi  Gudang  (SRG),  (5)  price  stabilization  of  agricultural products,  especially  food  crops,  and  (6)  protection  toward  domestic  agriculture production.

Abstract

The existence of rice farming can be  generally  classified into two-category, namely rice farming for breeding and rice farming for consumption. This article aims at: (1) identifying and describing the rice farming; (2) analyzing the feasibility of rice farming for breeding and consumption; and (3) formulating the development policy of rice  farming  for  breeding  and  consumption  in  the  locale  of  the  study  (Central Sulawesi  province).  The  research  result  shows  that  the  extent  of  feasibility  of  rice farming  for  breeding  (RCR=1.80)  was  higher  than  that  of  rice  farming  for consumption (RCR=1.67). Even though the rice farming for breeding was prospective, the sustainability of this rice farming activity would be depended upon demand from farmers and other users, the existing government program, and financial investment capacity  of  rice  farmer  breeders.  Hence,  assuring  the  demand  and  providing  the favorable price of rice seeds are two important aspects supporting the continuity of  rice  farming  for  breeding  includes  rice  farming  for  consumption  in  the  province  of  Central Sulawesi.

Abstract

Seed has an important role  to  increasing  the  productivity of  food crops and has has a lot of legislation issued by the government relating to seed. However, to date there are no known legislation from local government (PEMDA) on seed (specific location).  At the current stage, the existing local legislation on seed was based on the initial legislation from the central government especially Cultivation Act No. 12/1992 and Government Legislation No.44/1995. To date the most important institution based on  the  existing  legislation  on  seed  is  BPSBTPH  (Seed  Control  and  Certification Services  Agency  for  Food  Crops  and  Horticulture).  BPSBTPH  has  a  function  to control  and  be  responsible  in  seed  production,  from  procurement,  distribution  and trading  activities.  To  optimize  their  role  and  function  the  BPSBTPH  should:  (1) develop policy for agricultural enterprises or farmers who have been used un-labelled seed; (2) participate in supervising new seed products from other agencies; (3) more focus on supervising duties and less pressure on achieving target in production that was set by local government.

Abstract

The  aim  of this study is to analyze the index Location Quotient  of  ginger, kencur,  turmeric  and  galangal;  to  analyze  the  value  of  the  growth  component  of ginger, kencur, turmeric and galangal; to analyze the types of medicinal plants is a priority for development in Central Java. This research uses descriptive method with secondary data sources coming from the  Badan Pusat Statistik. In this study analyzed the  competitiveness  of  the  four  regions,  namely  medicinal  plant  ginger,  kencur, turmeric and galangal. The results showed Ginger has LQ <1 while kencur, turmeric and  galangal  has  LQ>  1.  Ginger  has  a  value  component  of  positive  growth  while kencur,  turmeric  and  galangal  has  a  negative  value.  Ginger  has  a  value  of  share growth  component  negative  territory  while  kencur,  turmeric  and  galangal  has  a positive  value.  Kencur,  turmeric  and  galangal  is  a  commodity  that  is  becoming  a priority for development in Central Java Province.

Abstract

Abstract: This research aims to identify the internal and external factors in themarketing of Adilla Goat Farm’s milk, formulate alternative marketing strategies, andpriority strategies that can be applied in the marketing of Adilla Goat Farm’s milk.The basic method used in this research is descriptive analytic. Data analysis methodsusing matrix Internal External (IE), matrix Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, andThreat (SWOT), and Quantitative Strategic Planning Matrix (QSP). The resultsshowed that the alternative strategies can be used by Adilla Goat Farm in themarketing of goat milk is a strategy to make agrotourism farm dairy goats for childrento be more familiar with the benefits of goat's milk early, utilizing the waste from thegoats to be processed/sold, worked together with other goat breeders in the group toexpand the market, make financial governance training and marketing management,making another product innovation from the goat milk, provide training for workers tobe able to market the products of goat's milk, and the expansion of product marketingthrough promotions and advertising intensively to make it more widely known.Priorities strategy that can be used by Adilla Goat Farm is the expansion of productmarketing through promotions and advertising intensively to make it more widelyknown. Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor internal dan eksternaldalam pemasaran susu kambing di Adilla Goat Farm, merumuskan alternatif strategipemasaran, dan prioritas strategi yang dapat diterapkan dalam pemasaran susukambing di Adilla Goat Farm. Metode dasar yang digunakan dalam penelitian iniadalah deskriptif analitik. Metode analisis data menggunakan analisis matriks InternalExternal (IE), matriks Strenght, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat (SWOT), danmatriks Quantitative Strategic Planning (QSP). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwaalternatif strategi yang dapat digunakan oleh Adilla Goat Farm dalam memasarkansusu kambing adalah strategi membuat agrowisata peternakan kambing perah untukanak-anak agar lebih mengenal manfaat susu kambing sejak dini, memanfaatkanlimbah dari hasil ternak kambing untuk diolah/dijual, menjalin kerja sama dengansesama peternak kambing dalam bentuk kelompok untuk memperluas pasar, pelatihantata kelola keuangan dan manajemen pemasaran, membuat inovasi produk lain denganbahan baku susu kambing, mengadakan pelatihan untuk tenaga kerja agar bisa ikutmemasarkan produk susu kambing, perluasan pemasaran produk melalui promosi danperiklanan secara intensif agar lebih dikenal masyarakat luas. Prioritas strategi yangdapat dilakukan Adilla Goat Farm dalam memasarkan susu kambing adalah strategiperluasan pemasaran produk melalui promosi dan periklanan secara intensif agar lebihdikenal masyarakat luas.

Abstract

Food insecurity occurs in families experiencing difficulty meeting their food needs.  To  overcome  the  Ministry  of  Maritime  Affairs  and  Fisheries  Jakarta  has undertaken  activities  to  empower  poor  communities  in  Sub  Kalibaru  Cilincing. Empowerment through the provision of food aid processed. In practice there are some respondents  who  do  not  comply  with  the  requirements,  including:  having  no  fixed abode, regular income and not all respondents  had guidance from NGOs. While the perceived benefits are: (1) partially processed material assistance may be consumed directly, (2) increase the family income, (3) improve the well-being, (4) changes in the mindset of being accustomed to live in groups, save and prepare food reserves.

Abstract

Coffee (Coffea sp), has an important role as a significant influence in live and livelihood of majority community as well as foreign exchange earner for state. It is known that coffee is one of flagship products in Indonesian commodities, noted that Indonesia is one of the world's largest coffee exporting nation. Instant coffee which is available at this time has been accepted by community which is caused by two factors.First, manufacturers build consumer perceptions that the products are kind of instant coffee beverage that offers practicality in its presentation, and not leaving a coarse powder  or  residue  when  drunk.  Second,  intelligence  producers  through  advertising, where instant coffee is identical with urban culture, modern society, and people who are always busy with various kinds of work which spends time. The research goal was to  identify  the  factors  influencing  consumer  decision  in  buying  instant  coffee, especially coffee consumers on internet social networking users, by using Quota NonProbabilistic  Sampling.  The  data  analysis  in  this  study  used  multiple  regression analysis. The population was the entire of social networking users both personal and group. The results showed that the factors influencing consumer decisions in buying instant  coffee  were:  sex  (1.555),  duration  of  activity  or  working  hours  (0.933), education  (0.198),  and  information  (0.928).  Sex  factor  (1.555)  was  dominant  to influence  consumer  decisions  in  buying  instant  coffee.  This  occurred  because  there was  psychological  aspect  that  could  pose  great  effects.  It  is  recommended  for entrepreneurs  in  marketing  products  through television  media  to be  more  enhanced because most consumers find out information about coffee through the media. And for further researchers, it is expected to examine other factors that may affect consumers in making decision in buying instant coffee.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the potential of sorghum as compared to other food  commodities,  the  condition  of  internal  and  external  factors  of  sorghum,  and alternative  strategies  that  can  be  applied  in  Wonigiri.  This  study  uses  descriptive analytical  basis.  The  research  location  in  Wuryantoro,  Eromoko,  Pracimantoro, Giritontro,  and  Batuwarno  on  Wonogiri.  The  informants  are  choosen  intentionally (purposive). The data analysis that has been used is Exponential Comparative Method (ECM) and SWOT Matrix. ECM analytical result shows that sorghums currently ranks six compared with eight other food commodities with a value of ECM 14.535.912,505.SWOT matrix produced eight alternative strategies that can  be applied in Wonogiri. The  expansion  of  planting  area  and  guidance  from  goverment,  guidance  on  grain sorghum  processing  into  refined  products,  conduct  the  bussiness  meeting  with investors for large-scale processing of sorghum, counseling and regular coaching on how to make good cultivation of sorghum, provision of training and support of postharvest technology, cooperation with the food processing industry, the government’s role  in  determining  the  selling  price  and  the  promotion  of  sorghum,  increased  interaction between researchers, extension, marketers, policymakers and farmers.
