Implementation of ergonomics is generally a design or redesign. One of them may include the design of the physical work environment. Ergonomic work environment conditions are provide comfort and security for workers. Physical environmental factors that can affect the comfort and safety of noise level. A good physical work environment will increase work capability or labor productivity. In a work environment, workload assessment can also be carried out to measure worker conformity and comfort. Workload assessment is carried out simultaneously with measurement of noise level . Whose problematic noise, the industry is located in Tawangsari RT 03 RW 34 Mojosongo, Jebres, Surakarta named Yessy's Collection. Measurement of noise level to improve worker comfort, so that productivity increases. The methode used is measurement using 4 in 1 Environment on sound level meter function illustrated with Software Surfer 11. The noise level measurement results are below the specified threshold value except at 1 coordinate in swabing station (stasiun penyesekan),that is at above threshold value. Observations made at work stations of batik cap production, there are still some working conditions that are not appropriate on their worker, one of which is unnatural posture. Unusual work postures that can trigger the occurrence of pain complaints such as musculoskeletal disorders (musculoskeletal disorders). Often unwittingly, batik workers work with positions or postures that have health risks such as musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). Based on the observation seen that at the work station batik production there are some problems related work methods. Therefore, to improve which work station needs to be repaired, it is necessary to do risk assessment of batik production station work posture using Visual Management approach. The Visual Management approach in this study uses the ergonomic analysis method for the whole body of REBA (Rapid Entire Body Assessment) and OWAS (Ovako Working Posture Analysis System), upper limb RULA (Rapid Upper limb Assessment) and OCRA checklist and by adding some aspects Associated with overload and repetitiveness in the OCRA checklist and OWAS. Based on the assessment of work posture by visual management method, the result of OES value shows 3 processes with OES value ≤ 0.4 with accepted operational status and 2 process with OES value is in the range 0.4

PT. LTX is a company engaged in manufacturing that produce tin plate coil form. Coil packaging process needs to be done before it is sent to the customer. In the process of packaging the coil is found on the machine appender bottleneck causing measurement stations of diameter and wrapping coil to be delayed which makes the time coil packaging is not optimal. This study aims to determine the simulation model of the existing coil packaging process, determining the proposed improvements to optimize the timing of coil packaging process, as well as find out the time optimal coil packaging process. This study uses a software simulation with ProModel 7.5. ProModel simulation results showed that the average time coil packaging process for 657.81 hours per month, so that made three design alternatives and the best improvement is the third alternative with the addition of resources such as forklifts and additional mounting stations crown that yield an average of 315.296 hours per month.

Oil palm smallholders require knowledge of fertilization because the fertilization is an influential factor in the productivity of fresh fruit bunches. On the other hand, the oil palm smallholders generally don’t have fertilizer expertise and they face a difficulty in determining good fertilization (good in type, dosage, time and manner) based on various literatures. Therefore, a simple application that can provide recommendations for palm oil fertilization is developed. The recommendations are based on expert knowledge that have been written in various literatures. Like an expert system, the application is designed by compiling knowledge base, constructing an inference engine and creating a prototype. The knowledge bases, that are facts and rules, are prepared using rule-based reasoning approach, the inference engine is compiled using forward chaining methods and the prototype is made using a visual basic application in a spreadsheet application. The application design uses facts of plant varieties, phases or age of plants, soil types, nutrient deficiency in soil and plants, rainfall, fertilizer content, and nutrient properties (synergies or antagonist) on fertilizers. The Applications made capable of providing fertilization recommendations by conducting forward chaining based on data-given facts and rules that have been made on the knowledge base.

Distribution and transportation are very vital for the company business beverages that must distribute its products to many areas of the consumer, for example is a bottled tea company. A good distribution plan and an optimum route would decrease cost and time for distributing the products. In a real case study for a bottled tea in Surakarta area, the fluctuating demand of consumers cannot be ensured and these mismatches by a salesman that should be based on the distribution plan and the realization of visit (RRK) resulted in the absence schedule. Therefore, it is required an optimum route to help the salesman in doing RRK or distribution without ignoring predetermined targets. There is a settlement solution will be more orderly preparation of these are using a Clark and Wright Saving Heuristic method. The method is able to assist the performance of salesmen and cost savings in the delivery of Surakarta area. In this paper, we have presented a real cases vehicle routing based on Clark-Wright algorithm to solve the open vehicle routing problem (OVRP) of bottled tea distribution in Surakarta District. We have modified the Clark Wright algorithm with three procedures composed of Clark and Wright formula. The methods of swap, 2 OPT and 3-OPT were used to improve our best solution in shortest route and the cheapest cost of distribution.

CV. Valasindo is a furniture industry where the production process is still done manually. In the construction area, the operator have to work with static posture as well as gain exposure of vibrations caused from the machine that is being operated. It is feared to affect the health and safety of workers. Work posture assessment is done to determine whether the workstations in the construction area need to be improved. Work posture assessment is carried out using Quick Exposure Check. This method was chosen because it is simple and also considers observer and worker’s point of view. Quick Exposure Check also considers other factors such as vibration, the perceived difficulties of workers, and the stress level. Based on the results, all the work stations in construction area are on the range of exposure level 59%-70%. It means that all the workstations need an improvement in any time soon

PT. Prima Sejati Sejahtera as one of the subsidiaries of PT. Pan Brothers Tbk. which is engaged in garment production. The company's mechanical department in managing spare part inventory is still using intuitive method, where the number of spare part order for certain periods based on spare part demands data onto the previous period. The company’s mechanical department often stock out of spare parts. Spare part’s inventory management becomes a complex issue because of the need for fast response to handle the downtime of machines, and the risk of obsolescence of spare parts. So in this research will discuss about spare part inventory control which is started with spare parts grouping by using ABC analysis method to determine the appropriate inventory control method for each group. There are 23 spare parts which included in group A. The forecast of spare part’s demands to use Croston, Syntetos-Boylan Approximation (SBA) and Single Exponential Smoothing (SES). Comparison of each forecasting method will be determined by the value of forecasting errors (MAD). It is known that there are 12 spare parts with Croston method in the best forecasting method, 6 spare parts in Syntetos-Boylan Approximation (SBA) method and 5 spare parts with Single Exponential Smoothing (SES) method. Based on the best forecasting result, it will be calculated the value of safety stock (SS), reorder point (ROP) and the optimal number of ordering (Q) using Continuous Review method for each spare part.

Effective and efficient organization is an organization that can benefit form the wealth of knowledge they have and also learn from those experienced before. Identification of existing knowledge in organization is urgently needed before the knowledge is managed with knowledge management. This study used qualitative análisis methods from the approach Nonaka’s model and Alavi’s cycle. Alavi cycle is used to identify existing knowledge cycle while the Nonaka’s model is used to identify th process of the knowledge formation. After the research is done, then it can be grouped into three business processes conducted in the Division, the forms of knowledge that already exists and the four domains of knowledge. Four of these knowledge domains identified more related to process creation, storage, transfer and application. The aim this research is; 1) to know the influence of music on the ability of mathematics student; 2 ) to know the type of music is more significant impact on the ability of mathematics. A kind of experiment the design chosen is the design of experiment single-factor experiment. Respondents in this research is a student of industrial engineering university of surakarta eleven march 2013. The experiments in this research are 20 students with twice replication the answer given by the writers math problem. Variable ability mathematics is measured in terms of the answer. Kualitas produksi dan performa perusahaan dapat ditingkatkan dengan mengurangi pemborosan yang ada di perusahaan. Dalam penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan adalahFMIC (Flow Material Information Chart) untuk menghitung kapasitas mesin, produktivitas operator dan TSK (Tabel Standar Kerja)untuk mengukur beban kerja operator. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah kapasitas mesin terbesar adalah mesin frying dengan jumlah 7935,75 kg. Nilai produktivitas operator tertinggi adalah operator proses frying dengan jumlah 881,75 kg/orang. Nilai cycle time semua operator selalu lebih kecil atau sama dengan nilai takt time mesin sehingga kerja operator masih termasuk ke dalam kategori kerja ringan. Nilai not value work yang didapat untuk tiap operator selalu lebih besar daripada nilai value work. Kesimpulan yang didapat dari penelitian ini adalah diperlukan upaya untuk mengurangi jumlah operator ataumenambah jumlah mesin packing. Selain itu perlu dibuat penutup untuk mesin molen di stasiun coating sehingga jumlah waste mentah dapat dikurangi
