Abstract

CV. Valasindo is a furniture industry where the production process is still done manually. In the construction area, the operator have to work with static posture as well as gain exposure of vibrations caused from the machine that is being operated. It is feared to affect the health and safety of workers. Work posture assessment is done to determine whether the workstations in the construction area need to be improved. Work posture assessment is carried out using Quick Exposure Check. This method was chosen because it is simple and also considers observer and worker’s point of view. Quick Exposure Check also considers other factors such as vibration, the perceived difficulties of workers, and the stress level. Based on the results, all the work stations in construction area are on the range of exposure level 59%-70%. It means that all the workstations need an improvement in any time soon

Abstract

Plenty of water and electricity are wasted in residential areas because people often forget turning off the water pump or do not know when the water tank is full. Solution of these problems is using a water level control as an automatic tool to turn off  and turn on the water pump. However, the water level control that exist today has many shortcomings. It has a complicated operating system, especially for people in a residential area with a range of price more than IDR 50,000. So this study was conducted with the aim of simplifying the system of water level control so its price is more affordable and simple operation, knowing the working principle and study the effectiveness and efficiency. From the research that has been done resulting an automatic water level control with more simple system and a production cost of IDR 19,000 with a selling price of IDR 25.000.

Abstract

RSUD DR Moewardi is a state hospital of central Java Province in Surakarta which gives health service. One of the important facilities in this hospital is the pharmacy division. Some of its duties are to order, to plan, and to control drugs inventory. There are 1200 types of drugs that divided into emergency drug and non emergency drug. The Emergency Drugs (ED) function is as life saving that divided into 1 st priority, 2 nd priority and 3 rd priority ED. The 1 st priority ED are the 57 drugs that have highest management level and don’t have an emptiness tolerance. In the drug inventory control, the hospital hasn’t applied a certain drugs inventory control system. The ordering system is only based on the planning without considering the onhand status. This condition causes an overstock or even a stock out. Beside that, the drugs have an expired date. When it almost expired in 3 months later, it must be exchanged to PBF. Sometimes the tardiness happens in the hospital. Therefore it needs the Decision Support System(DSS) aim to give an early warning to exchange the drugs that are almost expired in 3 months later and also to determine the order quantity and period. First phase is designing of model base using hybrid inventory control system that combined reorder point (ROP) and periodic review system. The second phase is designing of data base using normalization and entity relationship diagram. The last phase is designing of user interface covering input and output process. From examination result, this DSS can determine the order quantity and period and also give an early warning to exchange the drugs that are almost expired in 3 months later.

Abstract

In this paper, we study performance based maintenance contracts for heavy equipment operated in a mining industry. A performance based service contract uses an attractive incentives to motivate the agent to increase the maintenance effort such that the resulting equipment’s performance is well above the target. This will in turn give benefits for both the owner of the trucks and the Agent of service contract. In this paper, we study performance based maintenance service contracts for the equipment sold with warranty and the perfomances considered includes availability and safety measures. We find the optimal strategy (i.e. price of each contract and maintenance effort) for the agent and the optimal option for the owner using a non-cooperative game formulation

Abstract

Nowadays clustering is applied in many different scopes of study. There are many methods that have been proposed, but the most widely used is K-means algorithm. Neural network has been also usedin clustering case, and the most popular neural network method for clustering is Self-Organizing Map (SOM). Both methods recently become the most popular and powerful one. Many scholarstry to employ and compare the performance of both mehods. Many papers have been proposed to reveal which one is outperform the other. However, until now there is no exact solution. Different scholar gives different conclusion. In this study, SOM and K-means are compared using three popular data set. Percent misclassified and output visualization graphs (separately and simultaneously with PCA) are presented to verify the comparison result.
