Abstract

Serengan is the center of shuttle cocks small scale industry in Surakarta. The makers use simple tools to process the shuttle cocks. Besides, there are no tools to control which are used to inspect the shuttle cocks in the making process or as the final products. This condition makes the customers get no guarantee for the shuttle cocks they buy, especially the shape of the shuttle cocks. In this research, the quality variables measured were the length of the feather, the height and diameter of the cork. So that, the tools to control the quality of shuttle cocks are needed to standardize the quality of the shuttle cocks produced. In this research, the setting up of shuttle cock’s quality control tools atributely and variably were done by using anthropometry approach. The product samples of the shuttle cock were taken from the makers especially T3 brand. The sample were used to know how far the process deviation by using x and R diagrams and the analysis of process ability was done to find out the process distribution to product specification. The shuttle cock’s quality control tools were designed by using anthropometry approach. The anthropometry data were collected from the measurement of the students of Industrial Engineering of Sebelas Maret University at The Laboratorium of Work Design and Ergonomy Analysis of Industrial Engineering Sebelas Maret University. The data processing result shows that the length of feather, the height and the diameter of the cork, especially T3 brand, are still out of the limit of specifications. Then, the tools to control the quality of the shuttle cocks based on their feather’s length and the cork’s height and diameter was designed. The tools were designed based on anthropometry approach by measuring the quality atributely and variably wich can determine whether a product can pass the specification or not based on variables measured.

Abstract

Working in a standing position consumes energy by 10% -15% compared to work done in a sitting position. If the posture stays for a prolonged period, then the health of the worker may be disrupted and affect production activity.IKM (Small and Medium Industry) Tahu Sari Murni is one of the tofu processing industries located in Krajan RT.03 / RW.03 Mojosongo, Surakarta. All workers, working on a standing position with awkward posture such as lifting, bending, and standing for 7-8 hours. Therefore, an awkward posture risk assessment using the QEC method needs to be done to determine the occupational risks faced by the worker. The results show that only the soybeans washing station that categorized at the "safe" level while the other six stations are at level 3 which means it needs improvement because workers also have musculo sceletal disorder in the upper body

Abstract

In numerical control, there are five reference angle points in machining workpart surface that be done at the time of determining zero setting of cartesian scale. This process can be classified as surface milling work and cylinder milling work. In generally, workpart machining processes begin using flat end-cutter tools that is fixed with wide of surface machining like make simple of clamp direction with drive surface on reference points and check surface on processing plan of workpart geometric. This paper use two approaches based on geometric differential and analytical theory, namely (a) left hand offset or G54 and (b) right hand offset or G55 from reference angle points of workpart on drive surface. this application describes how to make tools exchange algortihm on CNC milling programming based on final point of tools at workpart machining processes

Abstract

Abstract—Management of goods in logistics company is required till deliver the goods quickly and accurately, thus it can improve additional value and can compete with other competitors. But, in fact there are many factors that cause delivery delay. It is experienced by PT. TIKI Branch Solo which has a delay in the delivery of goods from the station to the airport. By fishbone diagram, the main cause is the current method of loading/unloading from truck to the station and vice versa it uses manual handling. Then, it affects to the productivity in terms of time and costs. So, the solution is considered such as forklift and trolley to speed up the process of loading/unloading. Both alternatives compared with manual system use financially and technically process. Based on financial result, trolley is the most effective alternative from the value of Manual Handling Costs is Rp 6.946,67 and Nett Present Value is Rp 43.752.394,91. Technically, trolley is faster than others as goods movement process can be done effectively and efficiently. Finally, it can solve the problem of delivery delay in PT. TIKI Branch Solo.

Abstract

PT. RMC, a company based on make to order which producing ready mixed concrete has not applied acertain ordering method yet. Giving letter of delivery and job-mix to logistics department close to production execution time make logistics department cannot determine requirement of material. Beside that, logistics department works based on work instrument and manual recording so that there are still found many problems which effect on pile up or shortage. It needs a method which can provide the decision about material ordering time and quantity so that result minimum total inventory cost. The method is developed as Decision Support System (DSS). It uses Material Requirement Planning concept (MRP) with daily phased. Determining economic ordering lot size uses static Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) with safety stock (SS). DSS determine Q order if inventory decrease until reach Reorder Point (ROP). With DSS, input and edit data become easier thanbefore. In validation, the proposed method is compared with the current method that result the total inventory cost of proposed method lower than current method. The cost reduction is 10,31 % or Rp. 23.351.790,97439 per month.

Abstract

We consider a two-layer supply chain model consisting of a vendor and a buyer. The buyer observes a probabilistic demand and orders lots from the vendor. We relax the assumption of deterministic lead time and assume that it is varying linearly with the delivery lot size. The vendor manufactures the requested product in production batchs. Each produced batch is shipped to the buyer in lots. We consider a situation where there are multiple deliveries for one order and the vendor produces in a multiple integer of delivery quantity and hence, an order can be split into a number of production runs. A solution procedure is suggested for solving the proposed model and numerical examples are used to illustrate the benefit of integration. Numerical results show that the integrated inventory model will always result in savings in the total joint cost, buyer cost and vendor cost.

Abstract

This paper studies a facility location with single sourcing problem which simultaneously considering opening some new facilities or closing some existing facilities. This problem comes from the inefficiency of the distribution network because of its distribution process growth. One of the mainly caused is each customer zone, which consist of several demand points, served by more than one warehouses. This policy causes high delivery cost and also makes what called marketing conflict. The objectives of this problem solving is determining number, location and distribution coverage of warehouse that could minimizing total logistic cost. Total logistic cost consist of delivery cost from warehouse to customer zone, storage and operation cost at warehouse and transportation cost from plant to warehouse. The best solution is achieved using heuristic approach and optimized using integer linear programming by examining the best configuration network offering the least total logistic cost.

Abstract

Associated with an institutional development, self evaluation is important that cannot be separated from long-term, medium-term, or short-term strategic plans. Self-evaluation involving all the layers or elements of the institution. Information system providing self-evaluation should be made for such purpose. One approach that can be used to design self-evaluation information systems is Zachman’s framework. This framework is suitable used for developing information systems because it involves a variety of perspectives layer that looked different from the system’s perspective. This is consistent with the self-evaluation’s concept that must involve all elemens in the institution, from top management to lowest operational.
