VOLT: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan Teknik Elektro (Scientific Journal of Electrical Engineering Education) [ISSN: 2528-5688, e-ISSN: 2528-5696], is a peer-reviewed, scientific journal published by Department of Electrical Engineering Vocational Education, Universitas Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa (UNTIRTA) in collaboration with Asosiasi Dosen dan Guru Vokasi Indonesia (ADGVI) - Association of Indonesian Vocational Educators (AIVE). The aim of this journal is to publish high-quality articles to all aspects of the latest outstanding developments in the field of Electrical Engineering Education, Vocational Education and Electrical Engineering. The journal invites scientists, teachers, lecturers, practitioners, engineers throughout the world to exchange and disseminate theoretical and practice-oriented topics of Electrical Engineering Education, Vocational Education, and Electrical Engineering which covers 8 majors areas of research that includes: 1) Electrical Engineering Education, 2)Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), 3) Vocational Education, 4) Engineering Education, 5) Electronics Engineering Education, 6) Information and Communication Technology Education, 7) Mechatronics Education, and 8) Electrical Engineering (Power, Electronics, Instrumentation and Control, Telecommunication and Multimedia, Computer and Informatics Engineering, Signal/Image Processing, etc.). It was first published in 2016. VOLT regularly published twice in a year on April and October.

Abstract

In several locations, the security system is becoming a priority. One of the location is the laboratory. There are many valuable research tools and equipment in the laboratory, so to improve the security system. Generally, the access to entry the laboratory is equipped with a digital safety system. Computer Control System Laboratory at Information Technology Department of Jember State Polytechnic uses RFID-Card as access right for entrance to the laboratory. RFID-Card also functions as ID-Card (printed with photo and biodata) and packaged to fit in user clothes pocket. However, using RFID gives less of flexibility. The user must remove the ID-Card and attach the card to the RFID reader box. Therefore, in this study will design a door lock security system based on the image processing to replace the use of RFID. Later, the user simply positions themselves in the Pi Camera work area. Processed data from the camera, the matched with image data which stored in the database. The database contains a photo of laboratory members which listed on the employee ID-Card. Template matching method is used as image matching method which stored in Raspberry Pi database. If the image which captured by camera is matched with the image data in the database, the controller will give entry access to the user. Based on the experimental results, template matching method has a success rate of 96%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang suatu sistem secara terkomputerisasi yang bisa mengontrol suatu proses yang terjadi di area parkir, seperti mendeteksi pengguna yang masuk atau keluar dan menjamin kendaraan yang sedang parkir. Untuk mendeteksi pengguna yang masuk atau keluar area parkir maka digunakan bluetooth sebagai input yang dapat membaca data yang dikirim pengguna dengan hand phone (HP) yang dilengkapi bluetooth.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah merancang meter air menggunakan sensor aliran air SEN-HZ21WA, kemudian diuji dengan cara membandingkan antara meter air analog PDAM dengan meter air Z3002. Meter air digital dapat menampilkan keluaran data berupa debit air, tekanan air, dan volume air yang mengalir pada LCD (Liquid Crystal Display). Meter air yang dikalibrasi memiliki batas pengukuran debit air yaitu 0,8-28,1 liter/menit, rata-rata kesalahan pengukuran volume air pada gelas ukur sebesar 4,5 %, dan rata-rata kesalahan debit air pada meter air Z3002 yaitu 0,063 %. Meter air yang dirancang dan meter air milik PDAM memiliki selisih rata-rata kesalahan pembacaan debit air 0,0181 liter/detik, tekanan air 0,1365 Bar, dan volume air 0,743 liter.

Abstract

This research aims to develop a Web-based learning media effectively on subjects of Automotive Basic Electrical Engineering in Vocational Secondary School (SMK) Negeri 1 Lintau Buo. Web-based learning media developed measured their effectiveness, as one media choice efficient and effective learning for students This research using the method of Research and Development (R&D) with 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate). The results obtained from this research are as follows: (1) the learning media validity of the web-based learning media is declared valid with value of  85.99%, and on aspects of the material declared valid with a value of 87.7%; (2) the media practicalities of web-based learning media on the teacher's response stated the practical value of 81.7%, and based on the response of the students stated the practical value of 88%; (3) the media effectiveness of the web-based learning media was declared effective in improving student learning outcomes.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze: (1) quality of project based learning tool with trainer PLC, (2) the creativity of students after following the learning to use project based learning tool with trainer PLC, and (3) self-reliance learn student after following learning using project based learning tools with trainer PLC. This research is a research and development (R&D) using One Group Pretest Postest Design. The results showed that (1) the learning tools of project based learning with PLC trainer shows excellent quality with a score of 81.4%; (2) the creativity of students after implementing learning using learning tools of project based learning with PLS trainer has increased with the average value of N-gain of 0.60 criteria medium;  (3) the self-reliance of the student learning increased after implementing learning using project based learning tools with PLC trainer, indicated by the average value of N-gain of 0.55 with medium criteria.

Abstract

The competence acquired participants of field work practice (FWP) are not all in accordance with the competency of skills in Electrical Vocational High School. This research aims to know the discrepancy of organizing FWP Electrical Vocational High School, in terms of: (1) planning of program, (2) implementation of program, (3) assessment of programs, (4) financing of program. Data collection using the closed questionnaire, interviews and documentation. The data were analyzed using mixed method with sequential explanatory design. Research results are known: (1) the success of the program planning aspects of FWP with a mean of 78.74% and discrepancy of 21.26%, (2) the success of program implementation aspects of FWP with average 84.37% and discrepancy 15.63%,  (3) the success of the program assessment aspects of FWP with a mean of 79.64% and 20.36% amounting to discrepancy, (4) the success of financing program aspects of FWP with a mean of 55.83% and discrepancy of 44.17%.

Abstract

Penelitian yang dilakukan bertujuan mengetahui dalah hal tingkat pemahaman, evektivitas dan kendala yang dihadapi oleh mahasiswa setelah mengikuti pembelajaran dengan metode Problem Based Instruction. Pengumpulan data menggunakan metode Wawancara, Observasi, Dokumentasi, Studi Pustaka sedangkan metodologi analisis data menggunakan statistik diskriptif dengan mikrosoft office excel. Hasil olah data dari peneltian dapat di ketahui pada a)aspek pemahaman mahasiswa sangat baik, b)aspek evektivitas pembelajaran hasil sangat baik, c)sedangkan aspek kendala mahasiswa dengan hasil cukup. Dengan hasil yang telah diolah dapat disimpulkan a)aspek pemahaman mahasiswa dapat dikatakan bahwa mahasiswa sudah memahami bagaimana  dasar terkait bagaimana mneyusun proposal baik penelitian atau proposal skripsi, dengan memahami mata kuliah metode penelitian. b)aspek evektivitas dalam pembelajaran sudah baik dimana penerapan metode Problem Based Instruction yang  di terapkan  mahasiswa lebih aktif dalam pembelajaran, berpikir kritis, termotivasi, dan mendapatkan tambahan ilmu pengetahuan dalam membuat proposal . c)sedangakn asfek kendala,  ada sedikit kendala bagi mahasiswa terhadap pemunculan ide dan pengolahan data hasil penelitian. Dengan adanya tugas, diskusi, dan berkomunikasi dengan baik antara mahasiswa dengan dosen diharapkan menjadi solusi  terhadap permasalahan yang dihadapi.

Abstract

Ths study aim to design and develop e-module based on PBI in this product will be tested feasibility with test validity, practicality and efecticity. This research used for this research and development with 4d development satge design, where the population of this study is informatics Engineering Education Study Program of west sumatera. Results of the five validator in test validation of e-module based on PBI 90.4% can be interpreted Very Valid Used. Overall assessment of the practicality of e-Module based on PBI-based as a learning resource of 83.3% can be interpreted Practically Used. And the effectiveness of the interactive module as a learning resource of 80.92% can be interpreted Effectivelyused.Problems in this study low for using electronic learning media of Pemograman Berbasis Objek II (PBO II) Course in study program of informatic engineering education. E-module based on problem based instruction (PBI) has not been used. That’s because lecturers are accustomed to give practicum module in the form of power point or printed handout in seperate material in every indicator in lecture process in labor or class.

Abstract

This research aims to create a miniature system for parking using Borland Delphi 6.0 software. The output data in the form of an analog optical sensors, so that the computer can read and manipulate data, then the data is converted to digital data by means of the output from the optical sensors sent to PPI 8255 which served to transform analog signals into a digital signals. The entire system is con-trolled entirely by computer through the PPI 8255 by Program Borland Delphi 6.0
