Abstract

The laboratory is an important part of biological learning activities. Previous research has shown that biological laboratories in various cities in Indonesia have different facilities, infrastructures, and management. The pre-observation of six senior high schools in Pontianak City has already shown that they have a laboratory, but standards of completeness of facilities, infrastructure utilization, management, and conditions in six high schools have not yet been known. This research aims to describe the standardization of biology laboratory in six senior high schools in Pontianak City. Methods used are qualitative descriptive with the technique of data collection is through observation, polls, interviews, and documentation. The research object is a biology laboratory in six senior high schools in Pontianak that has been accredited as A and B. The standardization basis of biological laboratory uses Permendiknas No. 24 years 2007 about facilities and infrastructure, Permendiknas No. 26 years 2008 and No. 16 years 2007 about laboratory management, Kemenkes No. 1405/MENKES/SK/XI/2002 about laboratory conditions, and Permendikbud 004/H/AK/2017 about high school accreditation. The results of the study showed that the biology laboratory at four high schools in Pontianak City is standardized with category B because it meets five provisions, while the other two high schools are not standardized because they have not fulfilled the existing conditions.

Abstract

Mother is an important “school” in constructing children’s integrity. Besides, she acts as a central figure that must be imitated through directions of good deeds. To achieve the values, as to inculcate good behavior in family and society, hence, mothers need to concern on their children from the early childhood on every negative attitude arise such as arrogant and proud which must be cured immediately. If the characters being maintained, then, in times to come their attitudes tend to not listen to the good advices and they do not want to engage in another good group. In this case, the influence is not only from societal environment but also family. Moreover, if they live in the broken familywhere in which inharmonic sphere and does not colored by Islamic values, then, their psychological aspects will be destructed and far away from Islamic values. To solve this problem, mother is as an important figure to make her family peace for their children succeed in the future lives.

Abstract

Kemampuan peserta didik menjelaskan contoh konsep sangat kurang. Fakta tersebut diperoleh dari hasil pendampingan yang dilakukan oleh Prodi Pendidikan Kimia Fakultas Tarbiyah dan Keguruan dengan Madrasyah Aliyah Negeri yang menjadibinaan UIN Ar-raniry Banda Aceh. Berdasarkan fakta di atas peneliti melakukan pengabdian berbasis riset yang dibiayai oleh DIKTIS tahun anggaran 2018. Tujuan penelitian adalah mendesain pembelajaran kimia inovatif dengan melibatkan tiga level representasi kimia. Desain pembelajaran ini, di dalam implementasinya, menggunakan prosedur spesifik, yaitu parafrase, elaborasi, latihan rutin dan nonrutin, dan cek kembali. Prosedur tersebut dirancang untuk melatih peserta didik menganalisis dan menjelaskan konsep. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data terdiri atas lembar validasi, lembar pengamatan pendampingan, lembar pengamatan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran yang dikembangkan, dan tes hasil belajar. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis menggunakan deskripsi kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Data kuanitatif terdiri atas (a) data hasil validasi desain yang dikembangkan dan (b) data hasil belejar setelah pendampingan implementasi di dalam kelas, sedangkan data yang dianalisis secara kualitatif, yaitu (a) hasil pendampinga nmendesain pembelajaran, (b) hasil pendampingan implementasi di dalam kelas. Berdasarkan hasil progress penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan dapat dikatakan bahwa desain pembelajaran yang dikembangkan dapat membuat peserta didik lebih teliti, terampil dalam menjelaskan konsep kimia, dan sentitif terhadap fenomena kimia.

Abstract

One of the obligations that must be undertaken by students of College of Islamic Studies (STAIN) Malikussaleh Lhokseumawe, is to study Arabic course. The problem encountered in teaching Arabic is the difference between curriculum applied from students’ abilities. The purpose of this study is: to find out about the curriculum used in teaching Arabic at STAIN Malikussaleh Lhokseumawe، knowing the school's efforts to progress in teaching Arabic at STAIN Malikussaleh Lhokseumawe and find out the problems faced by the teachers in promoting learning Arabic in STAIN Malikussaleh Lhokseumawe. The results of this study are: (1) Teaching Arabic at STAIN Malikussaleh Lhokseumawe is using “Al-‘Arabiyyah Lak 1” dan “Al-‘Arabiyyah Lak 2”. However, most teachers do not employ suitable methods and medias. Some students said that teachers do not use the media, but the board and textbooks. (2) The effort to improve learning Arabic at STAIN Malikussaleh Lhokseumawe requires teachers to use appropriate methods and media in teaching and learning. (3) The problems faced by teachers are quite related to teaching materials that do not match with students’ ability. Furthermore, only few teachers who apply research methods and use of the learning media. Keywords: Keywords:

Abstract

Many people think that in order to achieve high academic achievement, the Intellectual Intelligence (IQ) is also have to be high. However, according to the latest research results in the field of psychology to prove that IQ is not the only factor affecting people’s achievement, but there are many other factors that affect, one of them is Emotional Intelligence (EI). EI is the ability to recognize emotions, manage emotions, motivate oneself, show empathy and the ability to build relationships with others. Academic achievement is the result of learning based on the measurement and assessment of learning outcomes that is normally in the form of score written in the rapport. When students have high EI, it will increase their academic achievement. Thus, students should have good EI to achieve a better achievement in school and prepare them for the real world. Emotional intelligence plays a great role in student success at school and in their environment. Therefore, it is recommended to the school especially the teachers to incorporate elements of emotional intelligence in presenting material and engaging students in the classroom.

Abstract

This study discusses how the correlation between extracurricular activities and the development of psychological potential includes the talents and creativity of female students in Al Mahrusiyah I Kediri. Talent and creativity are very important and needed for someone to work and contribute to society. Therefore, people really need individual talent and creativity to help develop human civilization to become more advanced. This study uses correlational quantitative methods, with product-moment correlation data analysis techniques. Among the data collection techniques used in this study were questionnaires/questionnaires with a total sample of 33 santri. The results showed that the calculation of extracurricular activities reached 53% in the moderate or good enough category, and the calculation of potential development reached 78% or in the high or good category, while the calculation of the correlation between extracurricular and the development of potential students in the category of good or high was 0.713 with sig 0,00 this means that between extracurricular and potential development there is a significant relationship.

Abstract

Children are Allah’s mandate entrusted to parents to be maintained, raise, educate and provide knowledge. The main task of parents is to educate and to provide religious knowledge, moral and other sciences which are useful for both one’s self and others. Parents are as the only most responsible person in determining an educational direction of the children. A good and bad moral is highly depending on early family educational process. If the parents are extremely concern and give extra attention to their children education, it certainly will produce a brilliant responsible man in his or her life.

Abstract

The study aimed to find out the level of anxiety and motivation among kindergarten and grade one teachers toward teaching English as a medium of instruction, and also to figure out the correlation between anxiety and motivation, according to the selected variables. 42 grade one and kindergarten teachers randomly participated (10 males, 32 females). This study exercises Hopkins symptom checklist-25 for measuring anxiety and English Teacher Motivation Scale 30-items for measuring motivation that has been used. The result indicated that there is low level of anxiety and high level of motivation among participants. Moreover, there was a negative Pearson correlation between teachers’ motivation and anxiety. The Level of anxiety was higher in female teachers. On the other hand level of motivation was higher in male teachers. Each demographic variable such as gender and workplace had effect on both teachers’ motivation and anxiety.

Abstract

This research focused on the deep analysis about the description of qualified Islamic School in Aceh. This research using qualitative research method, the data collected through interviews, observation and documentary study. Sample of this research are Madrasah Aliyah Ruhul Islam Anak Bangsa (MA RIAB) and Madrasah Aliyah Negeri (MAN) Model B. Aceh. This research found that MA RIAB and MAN Model are not fully qualified since they are not yet implementing the brandmark of qualification properly.

Abstract

Nowadays, our national educational system has adopted theories of education from western, meanwhile, theories of Islamic education have been neglected. People even do not know which theories are coming from western and which ones are from Islam. Yet, there are some basic differences between both. Therefore, it is necessary to investigate about philosophers’ point of view toward concept of education. One of it is the concept of education from Ibnu Sina. His concept about education can be explained from the goal, material, method, teachers and punishment. Basically his concept is still actual and relevant to today’s development of modern education.
